When I was mercury toxic, I had these daily and often felt like I was going to die.
After my amalgams were removed, they stopped.

I went through the same heart problems for decades, Russ. I had an ECG run in the late 1970's when I was in my early 30's. By the time I was in my 50's I would get the palpitations,or a raising heartbeat, or I could feel my heartbeat jump or stop. I had my amalgams removed in June 2004. My heart still runs a bit fast in the morning. I presume that is from the overnight settling of the heavy metals. By midday it is normal. This is just one of the many symptoms that have really improved. I still take about 20 different vitamins and nutraceuticals daily. This I do under the care of 2ND's. I have not needed the assistance of DMPS to chelate in the last 4 months. I think it or one of the other chemicals are great for those of us who can tolerate them
My health is dramatically improved at age 60.

this is to do with your adrenals, which are having a hard time producing cortisol and maintaining blood sugar. I have this a lot too and I am on full adrenal support. Are you weak, shaky, thin, can't put on weight, don't digest food properly, can't sleep properly, look terrible, hypoglycemic? All these are symptoms of low cortisol. You really need to see a good endocrinologist to get tested and then possibly put on cortisol replacement, ie replacing the cortisol your adrenals can't produce anymore because mercury has messed them up. http://www.drrind.com/scorecardmatrix.aspNicola

Tracy,
They are right about your adrenals causing that. You need to drink LOTS of water as your blood volume is too low and so you body is telling the heart to pump faster to get nutrients to your cells. Also, take magnesium as mercury toxic people are deficient and it is what allows your heart to relax after the calcium has allowed it to contract. Without enough mg, your heart isn't relaxing between contractions.

I have had them since i was about 15. I had ECG,s and heart scans but nothing showed. Since removal they have gone a bit but i still get them especially in the mornings for some reason.

I get these quite regularly, and for me they are brought on by stress (so it's the adrenals for me). I started back up with school and a new internship, so I've had heart palpitations for two weeks now. And no matter how tired I am, the heart palpitations can keep me awake at night, and won't allow me to take a nap during the day. I've had to rely on Valerian root extract about every other night in order to get to sleep. Otherwise, I would lie awake and my whole body would shake/vibrate because of the palpitations. Once the stress calms down for at least a week, then the heart palpitations simmer down and disappear.
I know I need to treat my adrenals, but I've heard that it's impossible to really get your adrenals back in order without detoxing from mercury. I tried adrenal cortex extract for a couple of months, and when it didn't help, my doctor took me off of it. I just pray that my adrenals will start to normalize once I start to clear the mercury out.
