Hi Tracy. I've had OCD since I was about 11 or 12. It's like you describe, only I would get panic attacks and so forth, and ritual compulsions. I put it all down to mercury as I got the OCD in direct relation to having the fillings put in, and can trace my history of OCD symptoms indirect relation to dental history.
The counts/tic/ mental disturbances of OCD are symptoms that I have just kind of learnt to live with over the past 20 years, but they are intrusive, and I would like them to be gone. The ritualist ones were the hardest for me, at the time I had intense OCD (it got better when I stopped getting fillings, got my braces out and gave up fish).
There are times that the symptoms are better than others. At the moment they are playing up after all the removals I've had. I'm hoping they will go soon. It can drive me crazy, I just try to fight them. But I do hope that eventually, even if it takes 10 years, the symptoms wil,l fade. Every cell in our body is renewed every seven years, so there is hope of the body healing itself to some degree, and with care, once the fillings are gone.
I don't personally think I have copper-poisoning, as for me the OCD started with the fillings, but nuts and chocolate can be a problem if you have too much copper already, or supplements with copper in them. I eat a small amount of nuts for porotein and omega 3 (walnuts are good source) and chocolate, but I avoid copper supplements or foods with added copper (which you can get at health shops as some people are deficient). Also avoid copper saucepans etc. Still can't find glass saucepans so am going to have to get stainless steel as next best thing. Not sure what I have at the moment.
OCD is one of the severest conditions that mercury can cause, along with MS and other serious mental disorders that seriously impact quality of life.
