I have heirloom corn in the garden called 'Hookers', it is not genetically modified whatsoever, and is a natural corn. It seems to be a type of maize. I save my own seed from year to year. I have other versions that are also old variety heirlooms. Corn was grown by the native american indians long before the white man appeared. Maize was used by the indians to produce flour, corn meal, breads. Corn most definitely is a real plant all on it's own.
You have to grow your own. I am big on that and will continue to repeat it. You can buy heirloom seed, it is available from organic growers. Just stay away from Gurneys (whatsinaname) and Monsanto.
