As topic states,i had an extraction of one of my rear molars that was previously root canaled, and fill to the root with amalgam I was sedated, for the procedure, and now i feel like total crap.chills, overall fatigue, slight headache, and offcourse pain from extraction Any suggestions? I was given tylenol with codein, for pain but i'm tryin to minimise its use. I'm hoping these are just normal reactions as this was the latest and biggest amalgam filling i have.

This sounds to me like a normal reaction as the immune system gets into gear and starts getting rid of the toxins. I finished having my amalgams out 2 months ago and have felt awful since then - mild sore throat, constant fluey feeling, some of my 'mercury' symptoms exacerbated. I also hope that this will pass as the body gets rid of the mercury. I would try to view this as a positive sign that the body is working as it should.

I had 3 extractions in one go, all molars, one root canal and it hurt for 3 weeks, i was taking Solpadeine every 4 hrs. Is the pain in the tooth socket?

actally the pain is more on the wisdom tooth directly behind the molar that was extracted. I'm thinking that when they were pulling the molar they, aggravated the wisdom tooth,i can't even clench down on the tooth, that's how much it hurts, and yes i got thae fluey like feeling all yesterday, and the day before. The socket doesn't hurt as much as the wisdom tooth,i'm hoping i don't have to pull that one also

Okay i hope so,because the tooth just started bothering me a few days ago. I do feel like some weight has been lifted frommy shoulders. I don't wanna get ahead of myself but my fear and emotions have been lessened quite a bit since the extraction. Thanks again all.

I wasn't too great after getting my jaw surgery for about a month, then I noticed a lot of improvement. I've been having resurgence of symptoms since I got the filling replacements, which I do hope settle down aswell. I was really cold after one removal and had a migraine attack, which I hadn't got in a long time - which was stressful, but reassuring in the same way in that it had to be the mercury.
The gadgets that they use can aggravate the gums. Also, when teeth are pulled, others can shift, which can cause temporary nerve problems.

It probably is. But if you are in a lot of discomfort, it may be an idea to be checked by the dentist, as sometimes after extraction a dry socket develops. I don't know if you were giiven info on this, but it's not uncommon - something to do with not clotting properly, I think.

The area wher the tooth was extracted is not the real problem, though is seems to bleed occasionally. The rear wisdom toth is just real sensitive sinc the other tooth was extracted.

Is the wisdom tooth on the surface? Since I had a tooth extracted, the one next to it has frequently been tender (like shoots), and the dentists said it's a nerve problem in the tooth. I do hope it goes because it makes chewing that side difficult. I had it once before and it seemed to go.
When you have a tooth extraced, especially in the rear of your mouth, there can be some swelling. After my wisdom tooth was extracted, I couldn't bite or open my mouth for about 3-4 days. All my teeth were sensitive aswell. So, it may just be a reaction to the location of the tooth.
Have you had anything to help heal it? I had a pack on it for a few days, and then put aloe vera gel in it 3-4 days (got it from the dentist) with corsodyl (not at the same time).

That's the exact description of my symptoms, shoots,i cannot chew on that side of my mouth,it's just the wisdom ooth that hurts though. The pain comes and goes, but whenit comes boy it hurts. The gum is also swollen,i have'nt put anything on it,i will try ice today. I have only been rinsing with warm salt water.
