Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew if taking Vit C powder in your water is any better or worse that taking Vit C tablets. It seems like the powder would be a lot more cost effective than the tablets (since money is tight). Also I was wondering whats the difference between chlorella and algin? Do they do the same thing? Is one better than the other? Can you take them together?...Thanks =o)

I think algin acts more like a mop/sponge with any mercury that happens to be where the algin is at the time and then the body in eliminating the algin, will usually eliminate the mercury along with it. But it is not a chelator apparently, it's more of a help and an aid either alone or with a chelator to help with symptoms during detox.
Chlorella is a bit different. Many seem to think it's a chelator and goes after mercury....not sure. It can be used to sponge it also, but tends to aggravate symptoms much more as it stirs mercury up as it's moving it around the body. But it mobilises metals for sure, which in doing so, causes redistribution. It is hopes that in doing this, some of that mobilised mercury will be eliminated out of the body during that process, whilst the rest of course will be reabsorbed until the next bout. Some people do good on chlorella, others do not.
I am not sure about spirulina in regards to mercury as much. I don't think it's as powerful in that respect as chlorella is.
I think Vitamin C powder is more effective than tablets, at least that is what I have experienced. I get a vitamin C from a lab in my country and it's a good one. But I would not call Vitamin C a direct chelator of mercury. However, it's a good antioxidant and also helps glutathione levels, so in that respect, it may also increase the body's ability to detox and in doing that, may indirectly allow an increase of metal elimination as well.
