Hello again,
Can anybody please tell me why Hg toxic people should stay away from copper and iron? What is the science behind it? I cant seem to find any info on the net. Since ive stopped taking a supplement rich in both ive started to feel alot better, however I am anemic and look like death warmed up most of the time. This supplement gave me so much energy and colour to my skin again. Will I have to wait till the Hg is gone before I take care of the anemia?

Just a quick answer: Copper and iron generate free radicals just as other metals. When they oxidize they become toxic in large amounts.

Yeah I've heard mercury toxic people should avoid supplements containing copper. I guess it comes down to how much is in the supplement.
Make sure you're eating enough red meats.

I remember info from Andy Cutler's book about copper - don't remember anything about iron. He states that when chelating with ALA (I think this one) - the liver is not able to excrete excess copper from the blood that isn't needed by body into the bile (which dumps into colon for eliminat ion) - so one can get a build up of copper.

Derranged mineral transport favors build up of certain elements copper is one of them. Zinc is decreased by the derranged mineral transport. Iron is regulated purposely to control oxidative stress so if you have mercury tox and have oxidative stress iron will sometimes be downregulated by your body to the point of being anemic when what you really need is more antioxidants.
