Only two wisdom teeth formed in my gums and I had them both out years ago - not by an oral surgeon, but by a little old dentist. It was quick, easy, never caused any trouble or pain at all. Had them checked for cavitations about six months ago and neither they, nor the other two failed root canals that I had pulled had turned into cavitations. So, it can be done well - not every wisdom tooth or other tooth removal - even by a dentist - turns out bad. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
That info is to comfort those who have had removals - they are not necessarliy bad. Those who can avoid removal would probably be better avoiding.
