It's amazing how zealous FDA & Big Med are against B17. There was recently a news article (don't have a link handy) about failure of mainstream cancer therapy from some Italian scientists. They believe that present focus on cancer cells (which are the target of chemotherapy and radiation) is entirely wrong-headed and that the key is the cancer stem cells which are apparently immune to chemo and are largely missed by radiation. The theory sounded a lot like what I read about rationales behind the laetrile, which often doesn't reduce tumor sizes (which was how FDA attacked it as ineffective) but rather stops them from spreading by destroying exclusively the more primitive tumor stem cells.
