I have been sick since 1987. So many things that I cannot get them all mentioned. The worst is excessively sleepyiness. I have done so many tests. So far I do have lyme dx, and hypercoagulation, my natural killer cells are low and some subsets are high. Now I have almost consitant cold feet and sometimes hands. My thyroid is a low normal and I did take medication for it once. I just cannot stand to be so sleepy. I have to take a stimulant to stay awake. I was tested twice for mercury and nothing showed up. I have three amalgams. I was at a DAMS meeting a few years ago and the speaker was a dentist from Altanta. He measured the vapor from everyones mouth. I didn't show anthing from that. What I wonder about is getting mercury from being a dental assistant. I did this for two years over 20 years ago. I have handled a lot of mercury with my hands.
I have spilled the bottle and swept up mercury rolling around in the floor. The other assistand also would spill mercury and we just put it into the regular trash. Also my father worked on the Manhatten Project when they built the atomic bomb. He would bring mercruy home to show us when I was very young. My father developed a very explosive temper. He died from a rare kidney cancer about 20 years ago. A man that came to his funeral told us that he and my father waded in mercury ankle deep. So with those type of exposures how would I know if mercury was partly the reason for being sick?
I have done two hair analysis and one test I took some pills and collecteda 24 hr urine. The lyme dx is not getting much better with the antibiotics. I didn't know I had it until two years ago. The lyme dr told me that is what had made me sick. Now I just wonder if mercury is the reason I am not getting better with the antibiotics. Can anyone please give me some input? I am looking at doing the ION Panel from Metrametrix. It is going to be around 700.00 and I need for my husband to take it also . He has 6 large amalgams. Please let me know if sleepiness is a mercury symptom?
Thanks sandy

Sleepiness is definitely a mercury symptom. Most standard thyroid tests either: - Are so insensitive that many people will have serious symptoms and the test will still show normal, or - Don't consider T3 at all (only T4) Mercury interferes with T3 production, iodine utilization, and other chemical pathways that lead to sleepiness, low energy, brain fog, bad tempers, and numerous other symptoms. My first girlfriend has no amalgams but worked in a dental office for 2 years preparing daily amalgam and now has a brain tumor and MS. I suffered from over 17 physical symptoms and many emotional symptoms before realizing that mercury was the cause. Reading my story may help: http://herballure.com/mmsMercury in it's elemental form is not very toxic. It becomes very harmful when it methylates, which is does once in the body. Of course, vaccines contain mercury that is pre-methylated; That is, already in it's most destructive form. Mercury also offgasses continuously and can methylate once inhaled. Here is a link to my mercury article base that may help you get some information you're searching for. Mercury Talk
