I have been trying to get a diagnosis for about 7 years to no avail. No dr seems to know what is wrong with me. I have swollen and painful joints, especially my hands and wrists, constipation, sleep disorders and my hair is falling out! Could this be associated to my many "silver" fillings? How would I get tested?

I've been trying to get to the root of some problems too for about 10 years and changed doctor several times when I haven't been getting answers.
I think it's worth exploring mercury poisoning because some people have got better after having them removed. That's what I'm doing at the moment because I've had fillings for 20 years and I never had anxiety disorder until I had them, and a lot of my niggling health problems are symptoms of mercury.

I am very knowledgeable about the many symptoms/diseases that mercury can cause. What you have described certainly fits the criteria. Your questions can best be answered in a book written by a scientist named Andrew Hall Cutler called "Amalgam Illness, Diagnosis and Treatment". He became very sick himself and found out it was his fillings and then went through the necessary treatment to recover. His book talks a lot about signs and symptoms. Arthritis is on the list in his book. He talks about how mercury affects the endocrine system by interfering with the hormones. Your hair falling out is a sign of an endocrine problem, but when mercury is the culprit, all your lab tests can still be normal. His book will help you determine whether mercury is your problem and tell you what to do about it. Every resource you will need is in there. His book may be purchased right here on this site.
Good luck Sandra

Please see my response to this question you posted in the Introduction forum located here: http://herballure.com/ubbthreads/sh...&sb=5&o=&fpart=1I would highly "second" Sandra in becoming familiar with this issue by reading the Amalgam Illness book: Amalgam Illness by Dr. Andrew Cutler Your symptoms are typical of mercury poisoning and I believe you're on the right road to finding a solution. Please note that your dentist or typical doctor will not properly diagnose this problem. In fact, dentists are virtually prohibited from doing so at the risk of losing their license to practice because of ADA "ethics" guidelines. Why would the ADA impose this restriction on dentists?Because they receive huge royalties from patents/licensing on the manufacture of amalgam fillings. You asked about how to be tested. This is a complicated answer and is best answered in the book we suggested. In fact, the book could be loaned to a doctor who's willing to learn how to interpret the blood tests from the book. The book itself suggests that and I think it's a good idea if you cannot find a doctor who is already familiar with how to diagnosis mercury toxicity. Please note: You cannot just do a hair test. Also, beware of flu shots. Many (probably most) of them contain mercury and there is an interesting statistic associated with the flu vaccine: "97% of people who were recorded as getting the flu last year received the flu vaccine." Vaccines: Risks Benefits Choices, Dr. Tenpenny

hi
the arthiritis could also be caused by lyme disease. i have been on the trail trying to find out what was wrong with me and put my symptoms down to mercury poisoning. i have just recently found out that it was lyme disease all along. it may be worth being tested but if the result comes back negative this does not mean you dont have it as the tests are not very accurate. the best tests are igenex and bowen, both in the usa but it should be diagnosed on symptoms.
hope this helps.

The dentist I saw thought I had Lyme's Disease. My doctor doesn't think so. I have never been bitten by a tic, to my knowledge, and my problems existed before I ever went to the USA on holiday. What other ways are there of getting the disease? I had a ringworm once.

hi demi
you can get lyme disease in the uk. i thought all my problems were mercury poisoning but my dentist said it was lyme disease. I was tested at southampton lyme unit and the test results came back negative, but since joining eurolyme i have read about lots of people who were tested there and had negative results. they sent their blood to the usa to igenex or bowen and the test results came back positive. lyme is becoming a lot more prevelent in the uk and there have recently been lots of articles in the press warning people about ticks. most people with lyme disease do not remember being bitten by a tick and at least 50% of people do not have a classic bulls eye rash which is another indication of lyme disease. I recommend you join eurolyme and find out more about lyme disease, it is a brilliant group with lots of very useful information.
best wishes karen.
ps i'm the one who gave you advice about dentists.
