"zinc interferes w/ DMPS binding Mercury, so don't give zinc on chelation days" http://www.treatment4autism.com/After/chelation.htmlI read somewhere else that DMSA chelates manganese and zinc, so it is probably best not to take manganese supplements as well during chelation rounds. In another place, it mentioned a study of rates where excretion of mercury was decreased when sodium selenite was given during DMSA chelation, so avoiding selenium supplements during chelation rounds also seems like a good idea.

The psychotic delusion that some liberal arts educated MD's have that chelators bind and are used up by zinc, manganese etc. is unrelated to reality.
Whatever works in the way of supplements should be given every day, regardless of whether you're chelating.
The selenite study is misleading but I can see how a layman (like an MD) would get confused. Selenite itself is a toxic form of seleniuma and should never be used. Other forms of selenium should be used instead so this study wouldn't be relevant if it was a good model for what is happening inside you.
