Anna and Jenna were born of the same biological mother 15 minutes apart on the same day (10 Jan 1970) but there were not twins.
Explain.

Oh Denis! Don't give up on us yet. We are working on this one. WOW! It sure is a tricky one, indeed! I remember you did give those 'mind bogglers' from the other website. LOL! I want to ask my husband when he comes in later tonight. I have had a few ideas, and others have as well....yet not it! God bless, friend! Abishag <>< It's probably so easy, that we can't figure it out! :-)

Hi Denis, (( Smiles ))
They had the same biological mother but two different fathers. It's rare but I've read it has happened before. Is that right??? Not sure..

Good Morning Denis! Like WOW! This one is really cool !....LOL! My husband came up with this: "Mother 'A' donated one egg to Mother 'B', thereby both women got pregnant and had the two girls." I would guess that's the same as what Lynn has posted?? THEN: My brother said, "they were triplets" (not twins),- and his wife said, "multiple births". THEN: a friend said, "They HAD to be twins, or else they were triplets!" (virtually the same conclusion as above)? I have asked two of the moderators of this forum. Bex, is not sure of her possible answers, and is awaiting others' comments. LOL! 'Still awaiting CTD's response. If all of these are incorrect, Denis, maybe give us a little longer to see what others come up with. PLEASE don't keep us in suspence too long. Thanks for adding 'some humor' and 'food for thought'! The Lord bless you, my friend! Abishag <><

My thought was that the babies may have had the same biologic mother, but that does not mean she gave birth to both! 2 seperate eggs of the same mother fertilised at the sametime.

My brother said, "they were triplets" (not twins)
Yes, a third sibling was born moments later and then they were triplets. Although other solutions can explain this conundrum (for instance Bex's solution), this one (triplets) is a more common occurrence so is the generally accepted solution. Well done to your brother! Now there is even another situation where you can have only two siblings born minutes apart and not be twins when actually there were twins in the womb. This has occurred in real life but it is really rare. In this case, they were not conceived exactly at the same time: I will not keep you in suspense... here is the article: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,322485,00.html
