Never experienced the feeling of constantly "dying" like I do sick from this stuff. When the waves are strong it puts me in a constant panic state, like it's going to happen any minute. Nothing works except to ride it out. The despair and depression is so strong, it has this manufactured feeling to it. Then the wave clears and I feel ok, for a bit.

Hi Ziggen4u,
This appears to be the nature of mercury. The darkness of it is so thick, that you wonder if you will ever see light again. Then it can lift for a bit, only to descend again later. I remember I used to feel the poisoning increasing like a wave coming over me and I'd go and leave the room. I knew what was coming.
Even my facial appearance would reflect the change. My cheeks would become pulled in looking, very pale and my eyes would look dull and darkened and I'd feel severely poisoned and depressed. Everything around me looked duller and less strongly coloured. Then my body would start to go into some kind of extreme attempt at excreting the poison. So I'd begin to cry and salivate uncontrollably and often to the point my face would swell up. This could go on most of the day, hour or so at a time. Then when it would abate, I would feel better. Clearer and less poisoned.
But that would not last, until the next wave would come. And the entire thing would begin again. This went on and on. It was like being pulled back down under, just when you thought you felt a bit better, you get sucked down again.
I gather this is the manner mercury works. How the body tries to excrete some of it, some is moved about, some may come out, most probably gets reabsorbed until the next time. I just feel like a bit gets cleared out, but more comes to the surface to fill up the clear patch. That's how it felt. I can't explain it, but it was like being repoisoned over and over. Yet I know it was just more mercury moving into the areas or BACK into the areas that had just been mobilised out for a time. Though some may have come out in the process, which I think is what my body was desperately trying to do, I wasn't good with excreting it naturally at all. It was so bad, my body would launch into crying and salivation as a means to eliminate it.
This is another way sometimes of detoxing.
The manner I dealt with this better was getting onto the Cutler protocol, which REALLY started getting the stuff out properly and faster.

I am convinced that many of the symptoms are due to mineral deficiencies. Many who are mercury toxic don't produce enough stomach acid, and have impaired mineral absorption. Chelation also causes loss of minerals, particularly zinc and copper, but also iron and manganese. Most people in general are magnesium deficient, but those who are mercury toxic are often even more deficient. Are you taking mineral supplements? Molybdenum supplements help greatly to reduce chemical sensitivity.

Thanks Bex your posts always bring me back to reality because they are so similar to what I experience. Every day is the same, wake up immediately feeling like crap. Walk around a bit, feel pretty good. 3-4 hours into the day it starts. By nighttime I am so drained I can barely function on any level and am in a totally different reality than I was 8 hours earlier.
Then comes this horrible chest spasm sensation, like a truck passing through me, time stops when this hits me. It's scary but the interesting part is that I KNOW when it's coming because all the other symptoms build up to it.
JK98 I was taking some minerals but not so much recently. Doc gave me Nexium for stomach acid issues. Even the attention and focus to keep taking the right supplements is lost, most days I say F IT ALL, except when I'm doing DMSA rounds (only done two so far).

No worries Ziggen. The mercurial (changeable) moods and symptoms are typical of this poison. I used to go through stages and things would remain the same, then sometimes it might switch to something else and then I'd suffer that instead. Most days were horrendous whatever stage I was going through. Early wakening, or excessive sleeping. It could switch to either, or how bad I'd feel and when. Usually I felt like sh*t most of the time regardless.
JK98, the addition of minerals from a powder I was given at that stage increased the symptoms even moreso, which does appear to prove that they were competing for binding sites with the mercury. Which I gather caused the disruption. The competing against eachother, tends to mobilise the mercury in my experience. I found similar with antioxidants, only they also helped me feel better at the sametime, so hard to explain. I did get an increase in symptoms with the introduction of certain supplements and even foods with high sulfur. I had to watch that one.
According to Cutler, DMSA chelation does not chelate out natural minerals. The only problem he believes is the stress of chelation itself that can do it. DMSA apparently chelates lead and mercury, but not sure about anything else. But we know that mercury causes a big problem in mineral levels and disruption. On hair tests it appears to be the big indicator that mercury is the culprit. The level of mercury is not always an accurate indicator, as a person can show low levels and be even more poisoned than someone showing higher levels.
Higher levels can mean the mercury is being excreted. Low levels can mean the person is very poisoned, but not excreting it. It's tightly bound in other words. There are many reasons for high or low levels. High can of course mean alot of mercury too, but it may also indicate it's coming out. Low may well mean low, but it may mean retention toxicity. Cutler tends to look at the minerals to see if mercury is at work. The specific minerals and the patterns they show in the hair seems to be the better indication.
There are also tests one can do to provoke mercury to come out and show up in urine, but one must be careful with those. Cutler gives one that people can do that appears to be a safer way and more effective manner to test for it.
Ziggen, when you are poisoned enough, it can be very difficult to even get up in the morning, let alone take the right supplements etc. It's a very difficult situation because the more poisoned a person is, the more they should be doing to help their symptoms, yet the less they are motivated or even able to do as much to help themselves. Even Andy has admitted that some people are so poisoned, that they can barely follow, let alone carry out instructions.
So it's a challenge to do anything. But do what you CAN do when you can do it. I found that I needed to keep things as simple as possible, or I would become so upset and so overwhelmed, I'd sit and do NOTHING. Or I'd overdo something and make myself so ill, I was good for nothing for sometime afterwards. I personally found that the most necessary thing at that time for me as the basic diet, basic supplement regime and getting the mercury OUT with Cutler's protocol. It isn't easy either when your symptoms get worse with certain supplements, so you don't know if you're reacting badly, or it's just toxins being shifted around more as a result.

Nexium decreases stomach acid! Is your doctor sure that you had too much stomach acid? The symptoms of too little stomach acid are similar to those of having too much stomach acid. Having stomach acid that is too low will increase candida overgrowth.

"DMSA can cause deficiencies of copper, manganese, molybdenum, magnesium, and zinc, if they are not replaced by supplementation. " http://www.yeastinfectionadvisor.com/treatmentformercurypoisoning.html"DMSA can cause deficiencies of copper, manganese, molybdenum and zinc, if they are not replaced by supplementation. DMSA doesn't directly bind magnesium, cysteine, or glutathione, but heavy metal detoxification can result in depletion of these nutrients as well. The first quote from the article indicates that DMSA itself can cause deficiencies in minerals.
The second article quote indicates that it's not the DMSA itself, but the action of heavy metal detox that depletes the body of minerals.
Andy believes it's the action of chelation, not the chelator that causes the mineral deficiencies, which is what I said in my earlier post.
Whichever it is, (though I tend to trust Andy's opinion pretty well) supplementation is necessary. Antioxidants are also very important too. Mercury uses them up big time. Just supplementing on a quality vitamin C powder (with bioflavanoids), vitamin E and selenium (I took selenium away from vitamin C, I hear in some articles it's not as effective if it's taken too close to vitamin C - 2 hours apart seems to be recommended). I had a very strong detox reaction and I felt a certain amount of metals were mobilised and removed from that alone. That came as a big surprise to me. The mercury skin rashes also increased just after increasing antioxidants. That is how powerful they can be. At least in my experience they were. Minerals appear to precipitate reactions for similar reasons. Replace what mercury depletes/displaces and I guess that's what can be expected. Iodine also.
PS JK98, if you look at the article/s, there is also some information there that goes right against Cutler's advice. They advocate taking products like garlic, cilantro, chlorella, sulfur amino acids like methionine etc and Alpha lipoic acid as a powerful antioxidant, not even mentioning (or realising?) it is also a strong chelator of mercury. Which, if not treated with caution, can be highly risky if one still has amalgams, or one's blood levels are still too high in mercury. It also mentions that DMSA chelates brain mercury. According to Cutler, it does not. Or at least not to any clinical degree. So, much in that article is in complete contrast with the advice and cautions that Cutler gives. This is what makes it so confusing and difficult for mercury toxic people to know what to believe and whose advice to take and which advice is correct. In my personal experience, Cutler has been spot on! He even mentions why some people can take high sulfur products/foods and others cannot. And why it can be risky for those where it acts as a mere mobilising agent, which can increase the risks of mercury redistribution and possible severe side effects or even some damage. I had symptoms from sulfur foods when I was very high in mercury, but as the mercury was reduced, my reactions to sulfur died down also. The worst effects were from actual supplements that contained sulfur in much more potent forms. Sulfur in foods would make me feel poorly, but not as bad as the supplements. I had to be careful either way. Yet some do really well on them!

Yes alot of your symptoms are just that, Magnesium being a BIG key too, that being deficient is huge IMO. Zinc and Calcium as well, also Potassium! Those protect your body from metals IMO, if they are not efficient you might have a problem and symptoms are alot worse IMO. Could the minerals help you out alot? I will find out soon, I am on them heavy now, I will try to hammer this out with Molasses (Organic), ACV and other things, lets see if I can get better off them alone.

"He even mentions why some people can take high sulfur products/foods and others cannot. " I read one article that says that those who are mercury toxic and intolerant of high sulphur foods are deficient in molybdenum. That seems to make sense, as molybdenum is needed to make enzymes that break down sulphur compounds. Those who are intollerant of high sulphur foods can test this for themselves, by taking one mg a day of molybdenum, then after a week or two seeing if their reaction to high sulphur foods has changed. Sulpur is essential for detoxification. Note that both ALA and DMSA rely on sulphur. Don't forget about copper. While some have too much copper, others are deficient in it. Copper is essential, for such purposes as forming hemoglobin and energy production. http://www.drlwilson.com/articles/copper_toxicity_syndrome.htm

I take a pinch of that in water everyday or two times a day and I feel it does me really well and I feel detox as well from it (Good stuff). I will try the Molybdenum this week too just to see how it works, what to lose? I take ACVinger, Molasses (Organic) and Magnesium sulfate too, also Alfala right from Shaklee which is very good in my detox I believe. I stay away from the Kelp like you said and found it just makes me worse everytime I do it, so sides a minute amount of it I won't really use it on the regular or rely on it because it makes me feel insane from time to time from the detox or the metals in it. What has Molybdenum done for you? What do you notice different? I am interested to know.

"I will try the Molybdenum this week too just to see how it works, what to lose?" Too much molybdenum blocks copper absorption though. Since I am taking a high dosame of molybdenum(1 mg, although I stopped taking it every day, and now take it around every other day, or else 500 mcg on some days). I also added a copper supplement which I take at lunch(as I don't take any other minerals then) on my off days. It is hard to plan when to take mineral supplements, as molybdenum blocks copper absorption, zinc blocks copper and iron, calcium block magnesium, calcium blocks iron, large doses of iron deplete zinc, etc. I am trying to find a balance of how much of these to take and when to take them. Molybdenum helps greatly to reduce chemical sensitivity, however I am worried about getting enough copper. Chelation causes a loss of copper and zinc primarily, but also manganese and magnesium. Perhaps I should cut back on the molybdenum to 500 mcg a day, although I don't think it is excreted that quickly, so one mg on half the days might be okay? I am also wondering if it is a good idea to take zinc and copper every day(at different meals) or just to take them on the off days. Magnesium sulphate may be a good form of sulphate, although the magnesium probably isn't so well absorbed. I guess if you take it with acidic vitamin c, it will form magnesium ascorbate, which is well absorbed. An interesting article about magnesium. http://www.healthy.net/scr/Article.asp?Id=2060&xcntr=1
