i have yeast and am on Aqua Flora for that..i'm doing the yeast free diet also and taking alot of vitamin C. thats all i take after a year of 9 amalgam removals. my systoms are anxiety, tremors, nervousness. i was starting to feel better about 3 weeks into the yeast diet and Aqua Flora & C....but now after a 3 month break, symtoms are starting to come back again. i don't know if this is the mercury poisioning raising its ugly head or am i falling off the wagon with the yeast diet?
thank you...

Hi Janey,

Perhaps it would be useful if you read through some of the posts on this forum to get ideas of what kind of detox protocol (if any )you wish to start. In my experience symptoms of mercury can come and go and I take Algin every day and have had good results so far as it prevents mercury from being reabsorbed and it encourages normal elimination. I am also taking vitamin c and selenium/vitamin e. Unfortunately as far as the anxiety goes I do end up having to take a sedative when it gets bad or at night. I would like to find a natural supplement for anxiety but have found that velarian does not help me much..Magnesium may be helpful however. I do take magnesium/calcium supplement which is good for both candida and mercury as it makes us deficient in magnesium. So far for candida I just take a good probiotic every day and drink herbal tea for candida. I wish I could be more helpful with anxiety and nervousness and if anyone can recommend a good and strong supplement I would love to hear from them!

Nina, I have trouble with anxiety too. I've also read that magnesium can help. From my reading on the subject, increasing serotonin levels can reduce anxiety, so finding something that does that can help.

I've been looking into anxiety a lot longer than mercury poisoning (never thought about it as contributing to it) and what I've read is that eating foods that contains trytophan can help reduce it naturally. Turkey, Milk, wheatgerm, are amongst the foods I remember that help the body to produce serotonin - you can probably find a list on the internet by doing a search. 5 Htp supplement can help (but can result in drowsiness, so I never took it). Also St John's Wort is thought to help, but can cause medicines to not work properly etc.

I've read chocolate is also good at increasing serotonin, but only on a short-term basis, which then results in a drop later.

How well these foods go with mercury poisoning, I haven't a clue. I typically eat a lot of chocolate, but that's because I like it and I need sugar (which probably doesn't help my candida).

I have been taking a powder from of magnesium for about 4 weeks now and it has definitely helped my tension and anxiety. Alot of my anxiety comes from dizziness and imbalance. I have periods of vertigo from positional vertigo called BPPV. I know that whatever is wrong with my is affecting my nervous system. When I was first sick I had several panic attacks and it was horrible.
What I discovered about magnesium is that it has about 350 functions in the human body and most people are deficient because there is such a push for extra calcium with no mention of the magnesium that is essential for the calcium to be used properly in the body. Calcium causes muscle contraction while magnesium causes muscles to relax. I found out from a hair analysis that I am off the charts in calcium and have very low levels of magnesium in ratio to the calcium. I also read somewhere that high levels of calcium are common with mercury toxicity.
The magnesium DEFINITELY has helped me to sleep much sounder. I take powder from of magnesium that you dissolve in hot water like you would tea, then add water and ice and drink. I take about 600 mg a day.
Look up magnesium deficiencies on the internet. It's very interesting.

Hey thanks for the suggestion Viki, I'm going to give it a go. Anxiety is the major problem I've had to grapple with in regard to my mercury nightmare and I've got Mg supplements at home.

What I did want to add here is that I've found in my case that there is a link between chemicals and my anxiety.

During the last few years I've developed Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) - I understand now that this is common for people with mercury poisoning. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />( Chemicals found in washing powders, soaps, sun lotions, cheap detergents etc are the worst for me. Strangely enough anxiety is the main symptom I get (followed by asthma asthma and insomnia) when I come into contact with the wrong chemicals. An example: I really like a particular deodorant/after shave by Calvin Klein and I have it at home in the bathroom but I know that if I use it for more than 2-3 days straight I develop BAD anxiety. But this anxiety will go away 100% within a matter of hours if I wash it off completely. I been through through this with dozens of different products. It's the chemicals being absorbed via the skin or being inhaled which cause the problems.

Its crazy but If I'm careful about what products I use in the home I've found that things don't have to be quite as rough. The one problem remains going on holiday and overnighting in a different enviroment where I have no influence on what's been used around me.

I got some algin ordered and I'm actually kinda hopeful that it will help stabilize me a bit on the anxiety front. I'm also planning to start the Cutler Protcol in September - make some headway against all the other shitty mercury symptoms also.

Just to add to this thread...

I have a reaction with the hair gel my "stylist" uses on me.

I noticed after coming home from a haircut that I would develop a headache, have trouble focusing and get irritable. Also, the skin on my scalp would begin to get a buring sensation and would hurt to the touch.

I started researching the components in makeup and hair products and it sounded more like ingredients in a chemical bomb. The MSDSs are readily available online for most chemicals.

It's entertaining and a little scary when you start to check out the products you never gave a second though to all your life.

Steve,

I know what you mean about chemical sensitivity. Even 5 years post-removal, I'm still quite sensitive to perfumes in particular...they can give me an instant headache and make me feel very irritable and even anxious if I smell them for too long. (This usually only happens in places like restaurants where someone will lots of perfume on will get seated right next to me...I usually end up moving to another table if I can.)

I also no longer use chemical hair colors (even the wash-out kind), shampoos and conditioners, and even moisturizers. These things were causing me mild to moderate symptoms that at first, I didn't realize were the cause. Now I'm careful to read the labels on anything I'm going to put on my body.

However, the good news is that I see improvement. Of course, not eveyone has 20 fillings like I did. Plus, for about 20 years I only drank sodas and ate non-healthy foods (junk food, fast food and microwaveable stuff). I even drank diet sodas for at least 2-3 years...it's a miracle I'm not dead or brain-damaged...I was a walking metal/chemical cocktail...mercury, aluminum, MSG, aspartame, etc.

I'm really glad to hear that the Algin seems to be helping. Please keep us posted about any other improvements you notice.

Hi you guys!

I hear ya-- Two companies I found make really good- non chemical and non paraben body and cosmetic products.

Burt's Bees (i checked their ingredients) and Aubrey Organics.

Aubrey is my favorite. The only perservatives they use is Grapefuit Seed Extract. They use no foaming agents or sulfites- You could probably eat their products if there were a famine-- and they would be good food substitutes.

I use their shampoos, cleansers, and conditioners (they have a type for every hair texture - (I love thier GPB shampoo and condtioner)

Russ, they even have a hair gel that is all natural- I got it, it has NO chemical or modified ingredient whatsoever- and they use all organic herbs, etc.

They also have a great Seeweed skin toner.
For my skin lotion, I now use Coconut Oil. There is this brand they sell at the International section at Wegmans' called "Parachute" and the coconut oil is all natural- no additives. I love how it feels on my face and body-and though I get blemishes, this doesnt make them worse, nor does it contribute any acne. It only costs $1.79 a bottle ! (comes in a blue plastic 4 oz bottle)

Otherwise, I use olive oil which is another awesome skin moisturizer.

The cosmetics I use now is from Burt's Bees. I use their Ethnic face powder for the eyeshadow because it is for African American skin, and I have fair skin- so it shows up as a nice natural eye shadow or contour powder on me (minus the toxins)

Does anyone know a good hair dye brand that does not contain many chemicals, or is there a natural alternative I can use to dye my hair? I'm not in the States any longer, but it's worth a shot to look for some organic brand here too.

Hi-- you can always use Henna--

they have Henna in varoius shades from dark warm brown to strawberry blonde. Of course I found that if I washed it with shampoo after using it- that it evened the tone and made it less reddish.

I have sandy dark blonde hair-- with a bit of warmth to it, so I found this product I have yet to use but i stocked up on two boxes -- they were on sale in our Organic section of our local Wegman's grocery store.

I would say this product is the least toxic of all the boxed hair colors i've seen---if you dont want to use Henna.

It's called "Naturtint" it's 100% Grey cover with active vegetable ingredients. It is a permanent hair colorant.

No Ammonia No Resorcinol.

it seems to be made in Europe. The number on the box says UK-Nature's Dream--Helpline: 0845-601-8129

I purchased the Honey Blonde shade and will use it to touch up blonde highlights I put in the front of my hair when the roots grow out.

I also use some Burt's Bees products such as face powder and lip color, but read the content list. I know that the lotions contain "fragrance oils" which is a combo of essental oils and synthetic fragrance, which gives me a headache and brings on irritability.

Avolon Organic Botanicals is a very good product line with shampoo, conditioner, lotion (my favorite), etc. and they just recently removed the only ingredient that wasn't favorable-parabens-so now they are 100% good. I also have found Ecco Bella is a good source for cosmetics.

I also have learned to avoid certain things that make me feel bad and can usually tell what has made me symptomatic, but for the last two-three weeks I have been having all the symptoms that I had before starting on magnesium (chronic muscle tension, muscle tension headaches, anxiety and VERY frequent urination) plus skin breakouts on face, spine, chest like when I was on a high sodium diet. I have increased my magnesium and of course am not on the high sodium diet, but for some reason (unknown this time and lasting) I can't seem to correct the problem.

At first I thought that it might be the molybdenum that I tried after reading in Cutler's book that it helps with MCS, but I only took it for 1 week (500 mcg) and went off when these problems came on. The only other thing I know that has been different was that I went on vacation before starting on the molybdenum, but I felt like that I had "survived" the hotel stay, plane ride and being at the beach (didn't get in the water as the last time I was at the beach 3 years ago, I came home very dizzy and started the very frequent urination thing-I think my body was so out of wack that even the amount of salt from the beach made me worse) because I felt ok after returning and then decided to give the molybdenum a try. Even as I wirte this, it sounds very similar to 3 years ago to me, but last time it was starting on magnesium (and I stopped taking calcium) that helped me get over that.

It seems like I'm on a even faster detox path than I have already been going through! Anyone have any ideas?
