I have such a hard time taking my chelation dosage and getting proper sleep. I even set an alarm clock to wake me up early to take my dosage, but somehow turned off the alarm without fully waking up, and taking my dosage. Some would say to stop the round if 6 hours went by since the last dosage, however I can't stop many rounds after just a day or two. I wish I could find a solution for getting proper sleep and chelating properly. Quite often when I wake up to take a dosage, I can't fall back to sleep. Chelation symptoms are bad enough without being on just 3-4 hours of sleep a night.

Ya I'm sure this is frustrating for many. Chelation has been working great for me, but I naturally (thanks to mercury) would wake up ever 3-4 hours but I can fall back asleep in less that 15 minutes. since I've started chelating, after 19 rounds...My periods of sleep have gotten better, now I'll sleep 6 hours naturally without waking up and go back to sleep for maybe 2 hours after waking up.
I just have to set the alarm and keep it away from the bed, as I sometimes will turn it off without taking my dose. I don't feel any less rested while chelating, which is I'm very grateful for.
Maybe you should try taking a small dose of Melatonin and Gaba with your dose in the middle of the night...it might take 20 minutes to hit you but it should help you fall back asleep. I also like to take magnesium once in the middle of the night.

I am afraid of taking melatonin. I took it many years ago, and after a while I got bad side effects from it. The side effects from just the chelation is bad ebough. The worst thing is to feel like needing to sleep without being able to. My sleep patterns are so upset. Sometimes I fall asleep while sitting on the couch watching tv, and other times I have such trouble trying to fall asleep.

I really despise supplements that mess with my sleep. There are a few which don't effect me negatively in the daytime, but when I wake up in the middle of the night they make it nearly impossible to fall back asleep. The ones that I found do that for me are high-doses of iodine, methylcobalamin, betaine, milk thistle, turmeric (curcumin), and probably a few that I'm forgetting.
So it could be something you are supplementing with causing this problem, or at least exacerbating it. Do you normally, while not chelating, sleep through the whole night without a problem?

I usually sleep through the night, although only for around 5-6 hours typically. If I am tired enough I might occasionally sleep for 7 or 8 hours, but then I usually have a very hard time getting tired and falling asleep the next night. Why can't they figure out how to have chelation via a skin patch, or using some sort of time delay tablet? Takin a dosage every 3 hours while awake is annoying, but possible. Taking dosages and getting proper sleep doesn't seem possible.

A chelation skin patch would be too convenient, and in case you haven't noticed everything convenient in today's world seems to lead to ill health. They do have slow release ALA but the release of ALA is not steady enough to depend on.
You gotta remember that a healthy body can fall asleep easily, its most likely the mercury that is effecting your sleep, and that after some chelating, even if its not easy, you should have an easier time falling asleep. I've had sleep problems all my life, but am happy to say the last two years of my life I have been sleeping better than ever, even if I wake up, because I can fall asleep easier and I can even take naps in the middle of the day, something I could never do my entire life before this/
You can space the dosing out to 4 hours in the night, Andy says that its ok to do that, but some extra sensitive people still need 3 hours at night. I time it that I take a dose right before bed, take one in the middle of the night after 4 hours, and my next dose is the time I would normally wake up so I only need to be disturbed once during the night.
It was actually the idea of having to wake up in the middle of night that kept me from chelating via the cutler protocol for so long, I didn't start until 2.5 years after amalgam removal, but I'm so glad I finally did, as its really working in ways nothing else did.

This is something I struggled with, which I think has a great deal to do with my reluctance to chelate. I hated it. I had to actually stop turning off the alarm - but instead I would reset the clock whilst the alarm was still going because otherwise if I turned the alarm off, I'd too quickly fall back to sleep without resetting it or turning the alarm back on after resetting it. SO I simly didn't turn it off, it only stopped from being reset.
That way, letting it continue to beep until it was reset made sure it was done. i would also make sure I sat up, turned my bedside light on. Everything was habit for me.
Loss of sleep etc? It's part and parcel of this protocol. It is a real issue and I wish there was some other way. I could only chelate for about 3 days every week or so. I would give myself longer inbetween for better sleep. Like about a week or something like that. Make sure that my off time was longer, which would help me recuperate better. I dreaded those 3 days. What on earth must it be like for people that work full time and chelate on weekends? Their weekends are taken up with 3 hourly chelation with broken sleep. Then they have to go to work on the Monday....
