I am convinced that I am probably iodine deficient, so I started taking kelp pills. I bought the Solgar brand. I thought that I could take many of these, however I read about possible high levels of arsenic in kelp and have reduced my intake to just two tablets a day. I guess I should try to find a different source of iodine. I started using more iodized salt, however there is only so much salt one can take in before overdoing it. I guess I should look for a new source. How much iodine should one take? Some say one could take 25-50 mg a day for short periods, while others say not to exceed half a mg(500 mcg) a day.

seaveg.com, take that kelp from them or rather eat it. It is tested and most of the time clean I am betting. Some have high arsenic like you said, this does not and it safe to eat IMO.

Realize that thing without the whole spectrum and so on can hurt you over time and it's not a whole food so they can do damage or even take down what you are doing because high doses can cause a deficiency in something else if not from whole foods. I have read this over and over and swear by it. Some Kelp is not tested for metals and so on, some are thoroughly tested and are alot better for you.

In Sanskrit, tulsi means literally "the incomparable one" and has been revered since ancient times. Tulsi, the holy basil, is said to have grown at the site of Christ’s crucifixion and is associated with St. Basil’s feast.

Do you think the Solgar kelp is okay? I can't find any information about how well it is tested.

I have no clue, email the company or contact them and ask about the tests they do on it. I use Kelp and Dulse from www.seaveg.com I believe, read up on their tests. The food is very cheap too, a big bag for like 5 dollars and it will last a few weeks. Solgar I have no clue, but if it is not fully tested and it's from the sea I would be cautious.
