I had the "offical" literature provided to me by my doctor tooday which say that mercury fillings do not pose a "significant risk to health".
Look how they word that? "SIgnificant", therefore there is "some" - that's how I take it!
Also -
"minute amounts of merury from dental amalgams do escape from the dental amalgam and are absorbed into the body, some into the central nervous system, measurable through blood and urine."
But then they go on to say it's not as much as is absorbed from other sources.
Are they STUPID! minutes amount of a TOXIC substance is enough to make anyone sick!
THey also say that oestradiols used in fissure sealant and compsite fillings such as Bisphenol A have been recognised as an "oestrogen mimicker" and may be linked to male infertility, prostate cancers and breast cancers.
But then they say use in dentistry would only result in small exposure.
I am so MAD about this. My estrogen count at last test was very high. I had these sealants put in as a child as an "experiement" they said. I may aswell be on birth control! I am absolutely FURIOUS as I am a religious person and birth control is not something I would ever consider.
I am really really really upset because they won't take my problems seriously. I just know I'm going to have to go private about this and it's going to cost a lot of money.

Edit - I should have said hormonal birth control is not something I would consider, lol.

Hi Demi, I had all my amalgams replaced with DiamondLite, which contains no Bis-GMA (bisphenol). I used to have horrible PMS and menstrual cycles before the removal. Even if I used a natural progesterone cream faithfully, it still only helped a little. Once the amalgams were out, everything began improving. Today (4 years post-removal), I basically don't have any problems. If I've been eating bad the week or so before, like lots of caffeine from iced tea or lots of sugar and salt (every now and then I fall off the wagon, you know ), then I might get some minor cramping the 1st day, but that's it. I've also found that by faithfully taking the progesterone cream Pro-G-Yam 500, I don't have any cramping AND my cycle is lighter and shorter. Yeah! I know that mercury was the culprit. In fact, my sister's cycles were so bad that by age 13 or 14, the doctor put her on birth control to ease her pain and discomfort. I'm positive it's no coincidence that she had several silver caps (which I'm sure had mercury) on her baby teeth, and then had several amalgam fillings between the age of 8-10. Plus, she was a very picky eater growing up and suffered from hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). So, for breakfast, she would usually only eat a partial can of tuna fish! I'm sure she ate like this for years, so it's no wonder that between the tuna fish and the dental mercury, her body was a wreck. Well, I hope this helps. Sorry to go on and on. I just can't begin to express how getting my amalgams removed has absolutely changed my life! Demi, I wish you the best, and definitely check into the DiamondLite material.

Thanks Laura I'm looking into the diamond lite. It sounds the best, I'm really grateful for the suggestion. I was getting pretty depressed! I'm convinced that between the mercury and the bisphenol, it explains why one of my ovaries has no follicles and I have high estrogen.
I do drink a lot of caffeine though, lol, I need to stop!!!!! But I love cappuccino, especially vanilla and I love coke.
Do you think hypoglaecemia symptoms can be caused by mercury? I have some - like dizzy if I don't eat and feel better after sugar. But if I have candida causing me reaction to fruit, it might be why I was getting allergy symptoms all the time as I was craving sugar which then made me sick.
Thanks for the info on the cream, but my personal ethics involve no artifical hormones, at least while I'm of childbearing age I have been involved in pro-life for some time - believe me, doctors can no more be trusted to tell women the truth regarding abortive drugs and procedures or what the baby is than they can much else today. Progesterone can act like an abortaficient by shedding the lining to prevent implantation after conception.
A lot of women aren't told by their doctors (surprise) that birth control might prevent implantation. They're told they suppress ovulation. Yes, most of the time. Progesterone pills like mini-pill don't reliably prevent conception and likely have abortaficient effect some of the time. Estrogen-progesterone pills are better at preventing ovulation, but not entirely.
The hormones work three ways 1 - prevent ovulation 2 - prevent conception (change mucus making it hard for sperm and egg to meet) 3 - prevent implantation.
Obviously this is not a concern for those who don't believe life begins at conception but at some other point, but for those who do believe that life begins at conception, it's worth doing the research and see what you find or considering another method of birth control and avoiding putting proegesterone into your body.
I know it's off topic somewhat, but it's just another area where people are not told the exact truth about what they are taking.

I know that everyone in my family that has amalgam fillings has hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). My mom has it so bad that she once actually lost her vision for a few minutes, and my brother has nearly passed out before.
I also had pretty bad hypoglycemia. When it would hit, I'd start feeling hot, nauseous, claustrophobic, and really, really irritable. I'd have to eat or drink something immediately...I would be nearly in a panic.
Since I've had my amalgams removed, the hypoglycemia seldom bothers me. In fact, I hadn't really thought about it much until lately. I started doing a lot of really heavy-duty, all-day yard work every weekend for the last 4 weeks or so. I was surprised to notice how much my old "mercury symptoms" came back...with a vengeance...I've been abnormally irritable, I've had multiple low blood sugar attacks, my sleep has been poor, I've had a lot of fatigue and tiredness and my skin has been itching even though there's no sign of bug bites or anything to explain the itching. Also my vision has seemed a little worse and I've had neck and shoulder pain like I haven't had since before I had my amalgams out.
I've definitely had to increase the vitamin C, vitamin E and Algin in order to deal with this. I've also decided to take a break from the yard work for a week or two until my body recovers. I definitely attribute all this to mercury, because the yard work was the only thing I've done differently these past few weeks.
Anyway, I mention all this to reinforce my belief that hypoglycemia can definitely be caused by mercury. I experienced hypoglycemia for years while I had amalgams, then it seemed to go away once the amalgams were removed, and now I'm experiencing it again since I've "stirred up" the mercury that's stored in my body.

Ask your dentist exactly how many micrograms of mercury you are exposed to per day per filling .According to OSHA,WHO,EPA etc. 10 microgms/day is toxic. If they dont have a specific answer, how can they say the amt is non-toxic?
