I'm getting better, I still don't know what my exact problems are but there is definitely something alive in my (bacterial pathogen like lyme or chlamydia pneumonia, mycoplasma) body and brain that is being killed off by The stuff pictured. At $4.25 per bottle it's a steal: http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=5232&at=0I'm assuming it's lyme because Cat's Claw seems to be the best herb for lyme. I don't doubt there is a mercury connection. I used to think Candida but perhaps the pathogen is lyme and not candida. Who knows, Cat's Claw is supposed to be effective against Candida as well. I noticed almost immediately my GI got back to normal. Head was very clear starting at only 1 pill per day. My massive brain fog has gone. I believe the brain fog and most symptoms were due to ammonia and perhaps quinolic acid produced by the lyme. The charcoal was pulling out the toxins, now that I'm killing what was causing the toxins I am doing much better and feel very good mind and body. The proper use of the binder (charcoal) is important as is liver support. I hope to do a proper write up of this soon. I have a blog going at http://www.biohazardcfs.blogspot.comI'm up to 3 capsules per day and not sure if/when to stop. It might be a year. I think one keeps raising dose until one no longer experiences a die-off herx. Every time I've upped I've gotten worse then next day, not so bad the day after and becoming better than before. I have also herxed from taking 30 mg germanium ( http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=207&at=0) and N.A.C 600 mg. while taking the Cat's Claw. Seems a "pulse" of anything that might be anti-bacterial is causing herxing. I even found Betaine doing that. It helps the methylation (detox) cycle. I imagine B12, P5P and Folicin (or 5-L- Tetrahydrofolate [Folapro]) might cause substantial die off. Anything that increases oxygenation, like germanium, would also. After ramping up on the Cat's Claw I will probably add Andrographis and Japanese Knotweed. I have taken these before but took too much and it wiped me out (liver and GI). I think that ramping up slowly is the way to go and one MUST use a binder like Charcoal wisely to expedite the removal of the toxins.

Hi there,
It could be lyme, but not necessarily. I have also heard of a biologic dentist who puts his cavitation patients (jawbone infections) on cat'c claw before he will do any work on them. He wants them to be much improved before the surgery to clean them out. And like you said, candida is another possibility....although if that were so with me, garlic would have done enough! Including my diet, so for me there is far more to it.
I am interested in trying this stuff too for similar reasons. I do not respond to the vitamin C and salt regime for "lyme" and don't believe that's the bacteria I am suffering from, since mine was caused after using infected eye cosmetic, which caused infection in the eyes, which then spread and became systemic. Which so far, has remained permanent and been the nastiest virus/bacteria I have suffered from.
So I too am wondering if cat's claw might be an aid in that and/or the "possibibiity" of being affected by cavitations - which also contains potent bacteria.
It's worth a try I guess. I'm just a bit concerned, as it's strong stuff and can apparently cause very bad reactions if a person is allergic to it. So I'm wary in a way, but I'ld like to experience the improvement that you are!

This is fascinating. I was bitten by a tick 6 years ago and have some success on Cats Claw too. I tried Samento but was too powerful. Bex i had an infection from a contact lense 12 years ago and thats when i started becoming sick. Could've been the preservative maybe but it was definitely the catalyst.

I just went through a herx period. I went to three caps per day then my GI turned liquid much like it did last time I ramped up on Lyme supplements. This time I'm going to stay the course instead of stopping. It's worth a try I guess. I sent a bottle to my mother for her and my brother to try. I'm becoming convinced that chronic Lyme (L-form illness) is a real emerging epidemic. Read this Lyme MD's blog. VERY informative on treatment. Read some of the symptoms of the patients. He is very successful with the antibiotic treatment. http://lymemd.blogspot.com/

Hi Stuart, Forgive me for missing your post! I think it's possible that an infection can get in and cause systemic havoc, whether it's from outside causes, OR inside (e.g. jawbone infection/cavitations). Glandular fever for me did nothing compared to what this is doing. I don't believe it's lyme for me, as I am pretty certain now of when these things occured and it was after eye infection and got worse later after dental work....possibility of multiple issues going on at once.

I think that there are many bizzare and devastating infections out there, as well as the lyme. Not all are diagnosed or have a name. I think I'm one of those! My circumstances have been very strange regarding this. I haven't tried that stuff as yet. But I will let you know if/when I do and whether there is any response/reaction. Die off would be ok, since that's a strong indicator of being on the right track.
