this is on the topic of success with candida more than mercury, but still wanted to share.
Had mercury fillings replaced with white ones a year ago. started a detox program at that time but couldnt keep with it.
Now a year later I did the following and seem to be much better. I still may address the mercury possibility with Algin, but the candida issue seems to be helped tremendously.
My protocol for 6 weeks: 1/2 teaspoon garlic - i just used the preserved minced kind. 1 TBS Virgin Coconut Oil - any more than this and had problems. I have a hiatal hernia and it seemed to effect it badly. 2 capsules of Candida Clear - this is something I ordered online. The active ingredients are Caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco, Black Walnut, Oregano Oil, Biotin.
Thats all I did other than avoid refined wheat and sugar for 6 weeks. Didnt feel well at first, but saw evidence it was working so kept at it. I followed this up with a couple weeks of a broad spectrum probiotic from health food store to restore (I hope) proper intertinal flora.
I actually started this because I started a high magnesium taurate regimen to deal with anxiety/panic and had read that a lot of magnesium can promote intestinal bacteria overgrowth (as well as the stupid Protonix/Prilosec that I was taking). Since I already suspected it, I went ahead and killed it off before starting the magnesium.
Anyway.. sometimes a success story is a good thing. I may have to repeat this regimen, or deal with the mercury at some point, but so far so good. Just wanted to share.

I had some success for a while with Candida Clear, it's a pretty good product IMO. I don't guy into that Magnesium causes intenstinal bacteria overgrowth though, I read that on George Eby's site and never really thought there was enough proof to it and didn't really take it as a thread (I talked to George online ALOT too before so I know he is usually very on point). I am glad for your success though! What you did worked and I am glad to see someone cured of this deadly beast they call Candida. BTW how do you feel now that you cured it? Do you feel that much better? I always wanted to know how it felt.
In Sanskrit, tulsi means literally "the incomparable one" and has been revered since ancient times. Tulsi, the holy basil, is said to have grown at the site of Christ’s crucifixion and is associated with St. Basil’s feast.

Hi illonisguy,
Congratulations. Looks like a very effective regime. I'd say you most definitely did kill off alot of excess yeast and obviously restored the gut flora.
Can you clarify if you are maintaining this regime at any level? E.g. on some kind of good diet? like still avoiding the obvious sugar/wheat/gluten (since wheat is treated with mercury fungicide, I'd never eat the stuff, plus gluten can cause candida because some people cannot digest it properly). Sugar lowers immunity and is bad for anybody, well or sick....
I would personally, no matter how much better I felt, continue to avoid the obvious baddies. I used to do that and I was still able to eat fruits, high carb veg, non gluten grain, natural treats, potatoe chips etc and did well.
So I'm curious to whether you're doing that, or you're actually back with sugars wheat/gluten and you're eating anything and still dong well?
Just a word of caution. If the underlying problem is still there, (e.g. mercury) as much as it was before, then you are still being challenged. It depends how much mercury you have and it's possible you may have ridden some metals in the process too. That can happen. But relapses can occur. Even in my younger, healthier stage with mercury toxicity, if I played around too much with the looser diet by including the baddies too much? Inevitably it lead to a few sick days to come right again. Thankfully it didn't take weeks though (then).
Restored gut flora maybe removed again by a bad diet long term. Of course, you could repeat the process of what you did, but personally I'd be more inclined to try and maintain it at some level. Plus, the fact you have mercury, maining some kind of candida diet, even a loose one like I did years ago, will help immunity and aid your body with the metals. It helps the gut, the liver, and healing.
I wouldn't like to see you relapse, but I guess it's an interesting test to see if one good 6 week routine works long term regardless of going right back to normal diet.....
If the mercury is at the bottom of all this, I'd look at working on that also. It's wise to treat both - maintain a good diet, whilst you start on the mercury. That way you can keep yourself a bit healthier, a bit happier in the process and stronger. It enables you to better handle detoxing mercury also and probably more efficient to do so.

Yes, Sean and Bex, I agree with both of you.
The magnesium leading to candia overgrowth I was not sure about also. I too have read eby's site and have always wondered how much was true versus how much was overstated or just theory. The only thing about magesium leading ot intestinal problems is that magnesium acts like an alkaline I believe, much as acid reducers do. Protnix and Prilosec and Nexium (as well as the H2 products) I have heard can do the same thing. As far as how I feel.. I feel like used to. I dont know how else to put it. Its like everything is how it used to be and you can tell you arent (as) sick as you used to be. I still have anxiety issues to deal with, but thats another story. Its great feeling normal again tho. It gives you a much better place to stand when dealing with other life issues.
Bex- I too think this could be temporary if I dont watch what i eat, or possibly even if I do (because of the mercury). I do not eat refined wheats or sugars if I can avoid it. Occasionally I do indulge in pizza or something that has some pasta in it, but it doesnt trigger an immediate effect like it used to. Im not going to take it for granted tho and eat that way all the time.
And one correction.. I said I took 2 candida clear a day. I took 2 candida clear 2x a day. So 4 total.
Some of this may have been due to my magnesium regimen also, but I dont know of any correlation, plus I didnt start the magnesium until well into the detox.
Your milage may vary, but I think the sheer number of ingredients I threw at this thing may have been what helped. I wasnt interested in the added strain of chelating mercury, and just stuck with the candida battle.
