Hello all, new to the forum. I'm not suffering from mercury (well at least nothing as bad as some) but my wife is.

Long story short, she had a whole host of health problems at the young age of 24 that no one could ever diagnose. Thousands of dollars to doctors and no answers.

Finally we came upon the idea of heavy metal poisoning and it made sense. She had extensive dental work done throughout her life. A test revealed high mercury levels and some lead.

She did some EDTA detoxing that seemed to make a huge difference in her symptoms. She is also taking a ton of vitamin C and chlorella.

Recently she had two more amalgams out and has since then relapsed, most likely from the reintroduction of mercury during the removal work.

She still has 2-3 more visits to remove a remaining 5 amalgams...what can she do now?

Most chelators are not safe with amalgams still present but she is doing terrible.

Can anything be used right now that is safe and will help?

Thanks for any advice out there...

Chlorella is a chelator - GET OFF THE CHLORELLA IMMEDIATELY! Also EDTA is not really the top line of choice for mercury - lead yes but not mercury so if her symptoms got better from it then she probably got some lead out. Right now, she needs to get some supplements going to help her during the removal process. I just got mine out last week - it's not an easy road. She will probably get worse before you notice any results. The removal is taxing to the body so you have to go slow and respect the body's detox process. Get Andy Cutler's book "Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment" or check it out online. It has a list of supplements.

Yes, lots of C like 10grams a day
Vitamin E 1200 IS
Selenium 1mg for every lb 150lbs = 150mg
B25 4x day
Magnesium at least 600 mg
vitamin D
Molybdenum
Chrominium
Flax seed oil
Proboiotic

She probably has yeast issues also - molybdenum helps with yeast die off. Don't start chelation until 3 months after removal. She will detox on her own for awhile. Chelation is necessary but it is also taxing on the body and pulls mercury out of the organs. Get rid of the surface mercury first which your body will do on its own. Follow Andy's protocol. Use sauna or hot baths - epsom salt bath is good too. ALl of that is recommended after removal. The only thing you can really do while waiting for removal is pump body up with vitamins and minerals and change diet - NO SUGAR, NO CAFFEINE! That's what I would recommend doing - and research everything - watch out for the doctors - I got really bad advice and chelated with fillings in my mouth and felt better at first until the mercury started redistributing and I got VERY sick. BE CAREFUL!

Oh and add some Algin - it can help with any redistribution - take more than recommended on bottle - probably double it would be good. and Milk THistle - helps liver detox. I know it sounds like alot but when you are poisoned you are deficient in so many vitamins and minerals - your body needs help in detoxing. Castor oil packs are good too and easy. Add things in slowly in case she has a reaction to anything you will know what is causing it. start with Vitamin C, E, and selenium - they are the most important.

"Selenium 1mg for every lb 150lbs = 150mg"

You mean 1 mcg for every pound, which is 1/1000 of a mg. A total daily dosage of around 200 mcg a day is a good idea. Choose a suplement that is yeast free, as many here sensitive to any form of yeast.

"Vitamin E 1200 IS"

I suggest lower amounts vitamin E. When I took 800 IU a day I got nosebleeds. Imo someone should start with 200 IU a day, then possibly raise it to 400 IU later, but cut back on any sign of nosebleeds or blood in the stool.

"Yes, lots of C like 10grams a day"

I would advise more like 1-5 grams a day of vitamin C spread out in at least 3 doses, except during days of high fever, etc. when you could temporarily go to 12 grams a day. Use a buffered vitamin c like ester c, or calcium, magnesium, or sodium ascorbate. Calcium or magnesium ascorbate is a great source of calcium or magnesium that is well absorbed.

One thing I recommend before chelation is a parasite cleanse. Most here have had parasites. Around 70% of parasites are microscopic. Many have felt better after doing a parasite cleanse even if they didn't see any parasites. A parasite cleanse is also effective against candida overgrowth.

A low carbohydrate diet is advised. One should give up sugar and alcohol entirely, and also give up bread, pasta, and other wheat products. One should give up fruits at least temporarily, and eat more low carbohydrate vegetables(also avoid high carbohydrate vegetables like potatoes, peas, and corn).

Chromium supplements are advised. Find one that is yeast free.

EDTA is not advised since it removes too much calcium and magnesium. Chelation with DMSA removes mercury and lead. Later ALA should be added to remove mercury from the brain and nervous system. Wait until 3 months after removal to start on chelation.

Molybdenum, 500 mcg to 1 mg a day will help with detoxification. So will licorice root, dandelion, ginger, and milk thistle. There are other detoxifying herbs to choose, or you could use a detoxifying tea. Yogi, and Triple Leaf make popular detox teas. I have tried these. The Yogi Egyptian Licorice tea is also good for detoxification and tastes great. Eating raw garlic will help with fighting candida and parasites and help with detoxification. Start with one clove(section) after each meal. Cut it into small pieces, chew each piece well, and swallow it with plenty of water. Another way to take raw garlic is to take a cup of water, then squeeze a clove of garlic through a garlic press into the water, stir it well, then just swallow it down. Follow it with a cup of plain water. Those who are very toxic may get a strong reaction from garlic. As the candida are killed, toxins are released and people usually feel worse. Soon after eating garlic I typically feel worse, but a few hours later often feel much better.

Thank you for the responses...

I'm confused on the chlorella...I've read literally thousands of pages of info on mercury toxicity and this is the first place I've seen that chlorella is to be avoided.

I know chelators like DMSA and DMPS and even cilantro cannot be used while amalgams are still present but I've never heard that about chlorella...any references you can point me to?

I've read in numerous places that it's good to take chlorella while removing fillings as it will help to bind the mercury so that it can pass out of the body. My research seems to show that chlorella is a poor chelator but binds to mercury in the digestive tract.

Chlorella is a chelator and chelators are not recommended until after removal. Also, a lot of toxic people cannot handle chlorella - it is difficult to digest. Some people do use it as their only detox method but that is started after fillings are out. Your body will detox on its own once fillings are removed. I realized that today - even sulfur foods are bothering me so I now have to avoid them. It's trial and error. But like I said you will have to do your own research and see what works for her. Most people on here follows Andy Cutler's protocol which is not chlorella but DMSA every 4 hours until 3 months then DMSA and ALA every 3 hours. The doses of vitamins - everyone has their own opinion - I was citing what I have seen as recommendations someone else might have lower doses on some and higher on others. It's just important to take them and see what she needs. I have heard large doses of vitamin C are really good and won't do any harm - you have to work up to large doses and it can cause gas and diarrhea so then you back down. I'm not too sure about the parasite cleanse if she is so sick and already getting amalgams out. Her body may be stressed enough and not strong enough for a cleanse. It will need to be done but maybe not now. The supplements are important and imo saunas can be helpful - sweating is good.

I was very sick for about 10 years before a doctor finally diagnosed mercury and I got my amalgams out. But before that, with my amalgams in, I did improve my health considerably with candida treatment alone. The candida diet was the most important thing to keep my symptoms under control. If I cheated at all, I got severely ill. I also took antifungals - the best for me were raw garlic and goldenseal tea. Also helpful to me were probiotics - morning, afternoon, and night, probiotic foods (sauerkraut and kimchee - vinegar free), kombucha tea (some candida books recommend this and some don't, but without a doubt it helped me), enemas helped me (because despite everything I still struggled with intestinal yeast overgrowth), and the infrared sauna was invaluable (don't know if your wife has access to one). I used a neti pot(for chronic sinus infections and vertigo). I agree with the supplements above, but I would also be a bit cautious on a higher dose of Vitamin E (it is a blood thinner and so is garlic so if she takes that it could be too much) and if she takes aspirin regularly (which she shouldn't), then definitely watch the Vitamin E. Frequent epsom salt baths were very helpful (I used 2 cups in hot water). It would usually stop my muscle twitching as did the sauna. The doctors seem to disagree on the chlorella issue. I don't know who is right and I did not personally use it. I used oral DMPS (after removal) and it worked so well that I left it at that. I am using Algin, but I am not seeing any benefit from it (maybe I need to up the dose as mercuryfreeme suggests).

Those who want to take larger dosages of vitamins should build up to them. I am not sure it a good idea to use huge dosages of vitamins though, like more than 150 mg of each of the B vitamins, or more than 8 grams of vitamin c a day long term. At those extreme dosages the extra benefits might be very minimal compared to taking 1/2 or 1/3 the dosage, and there might be some side effects. Even if there aren't, just for reasons of cost, why be wasteful? Huge amounts of B vitamins at a time stress the kidneys. The more doses it is spread out to, the safer it is to take a large dose. When I have high fever, I might take a gram of vitamin c every hour or hour and half while awake. I would only do this for a few days at a time maximum though.

Everyone seems to want to be gung ho with chelation and supplements. I propose a more well thought out game plan and trying to avoid extremes. Many of the symptoms people think are from mercury are actually from candida, which overgrows rapidly in the presence of mercury. I am amazed at how much raw garlic accomplishes both in helping to kill candida and parasites, and in helping the body detoxify. If the body is clogged with candida and/or parasite toxins, then one might feel much worse after chelating for a while. Chelation drags mercury deeply stored in the organs into the blood, so even if someone doesn't have so much mercury their blood mercury could be very high during or just after chelation.

If your wife doesn't want tos tart on a parasite cleanse until after the last of the amalgams are out, then she could start with antifungals such as raw garlic, olive leaf extract, ginger,
cinnamon, etc. Some people have much more energy after they complete a parasite cleanse. Most here have had parasites. 70% of human parasites are microscopic, although many here have seen parasites while doing a parasite cleanse. I was skeptical about parasite cleanses until after I did some.

KCB, I like your approach. I would rather use more raw garlic than vitamin E. I eat plenty of nuts on my low carb diet, so I might soon discontinue my vitamin E supplementation. Right now I am taking 200 IU a day of vitamin E supplements. Many tend to forget that vitamins or herbs can have adverse effects if too much is used. It is a stress on the body to get rid of a large excess. Besides which, why be wasteful. So many here are focused on the mercury. The mercury is what initially injured the immune system, however it is just a small part of the story. Candida overgrowth and/or parasites are next part. If ones body is very toxic from candida and/or parasites, then they probably won't do well during chelation, and may not get rid of much mercury. If one can get the candida and/or parasites greatly reduced before chelation, then chelation will probably be much more effective, and much less uncomfortable. I too thought that if I could only get rid of the mercury ASAP, I would magically get well. Now I realize that I need to lessen the toxic burden on my body first, then I can later chelate effectively, dragging out deeply stored mercury from my organs into my blood, then efficiently excreting it. If the body is too toxic when doing chelation, then then blood mercury levels might go way up, and the body might not be able to lower them effectively(perhaps leading to much greater candida and/or parasite problems. Everyone is exposed to parasite eggs, but those with a strong immune system can fight them off much of the time. Eating raw garlic on a continuous basis may also be a good way to help prevent reinfection by parasites once one gets rid of them.

I agree with JK98 here. There is no need to take extreme doses of these vitamins/minerals. You may need more of something, but too much can be deterimental. Spreading it out during the day is much more effective too.

Too much selenium is also not a wise move. I agree that around 200 mcg seems to be good amount and in some cases maybe a bit too much if one is sensitive and/or getting enough already from other sources (food)...though admittedly because of depleted soil/foods, we are often lacking, PLUS toxicity itself depleting selenium. So generally it is much needed.

I take around 500 IU of vitamin E. I also feel that too much of that is not wise either. Too much of anything isn't. Yep, blood thinners like this and garlic and fish oil are good, but probably not wise in excess (as you can see from nose bleed).

Vitamin C? I use about 1000 mg (1 gram), around 3 times per day (or thereabouts). nothing extreme, but more than enough for my body to get what it needs to fight the extra stress/sickness/toxins. Sometimes one may need more extreme doses in acute situations, but long term? I'd say be careful not to overdo anything too much.

Whether it's coincidence or not, I bought a detoxification support powder and am feeling the benefits. I'd advise caution for those mercury toxic, as it has elements in there that maybe a problem, because they can stir mercury up and alpha lipoic acid, taken too early and in a random manner, can apparently have potential to pull more mercury INTO the brain if the body/blood levels are too high. Though it's a strong chelator of mercury, there are some risks attached to random use.

But here it is and the ingredients, to give people a good idea of why this might be benefitting me (alongside diet).
http://www.clinicians.co.nz/afawcs0132762/CATID=8/SUBID=90/ID=1452/SID=309836848/productdetails.html

it is actually designed for those with toxicity (including metal), but as we know, some respond adversely to some of these ingredients when they are still high in mercury. I am benefitting personally, but also they are not in extreme doses, but rather seem instead to be giving me just enough to help my system and liver etc.

Alongside this basic overall supplement powder, I add extra vitamin E, selenium (though I have to be careful as 3 teaspoons of the powder during the day gives me 150 mcg of selenium, which is great). However, sometimes I level the powder off to two teaspoons a day instead as a maintainance dose).

I also take a magnesium/calcium supplement (even ratios), about 300 mg of each. And also a good mercury free fish oil. Sometimes zinc and also I take a few drops of iodine to make sure I keep my iodine levels as optimal as I can (given toxins like mercury displace iodine and block it's action in the thyroid gland). Plus there is a problem of low iodine in my country. And also some extra vitamin C.

That's about it, except flaxseed oil which I mix with yoghurt. Rest is done with a good diet and exclusion of all the problems foods.

I'm Mercuree's wife. Hi everyone and thanks for the information.

I stopped taking the chlorella and EDTA. I guess I've been doing a little better. At least I can get out of bed. My blood pressure have been ridiculously low. Any suggestion on how to raise it like 25 points? haha

When I was taking the chlorella and EDTA, my diabetes insipidus got a lot better. In fact, I actually skipped an entire WEEK of medicine. For me this is unbelievable. However since the last dentist visit I have been needing the nasal spray again and my DI has come back with a vengeance.

Once again thanks for the info. All of my fillings will be out on September 9th. It's very soon.

Good luck on your removal! We all deserve health and happiness! Not to sound negative but for some, symptoms really flare up after removal. Vitamin C really helped me - I took the crystals in juice 3 or 4 times a day for the first week. Rest and listen to your body. It takes time to detox and your body is toxic so it is harder for us to get the toxins out. I think being patient and respecting your body will really help. I am trying to do that, too - I am 15 post removal. I will keep you in my prayers. Try to get yourself as strong as possible in the next few weeks - rest, water, supplements, good food. Be strong - it will get better and remember you are not alone!
