Hi all, I am curious if anyone knows how we get our blood type. If I am type O and my brother is type A then what perhaps was my mom and dad? (They are both deceased now) I think one is recessive and one is dominant. I am trying to find out what type my kids are. If my husband is type A and I ma type O can they be both type O possibly? Due to so many problems with food sensitivities I am exploring the Eat Right for Your blood type program/diet. I apprciate it if anyone knows about this. Blessings! Diane

Diane, I'm glad someone finally brought that up! I try and go by that and definitely, definitely feel the difference. I am an O. My husband is an A. One of my girls is an O and one is an A so I guess that blows that theory : ) It makes life difficult in a sense. And its funny. I was always the one who wanted to eat all whole wheat, vegetarian, etc. My husband was a meat man.... Once when we were dating eons ago I made him dinner. I made spaghetti sauce and served it with spaghetti squash instead of noodles. (Actually that is a good idea for us, though!) He had never even seen spaghetti squash before : ) But for desert I made a whole wheat honey cake....Wow. He has never let me live that down LOL : )

Anyway - its hard to adjust to all the things we cannot have, but its actually very consistent with what is healthiest overall anyway. The difference is that A's need soy more. We eat a lot of chicken. My mom is actually a B and my dad an O so I got it from my dad. I had some trouble with Brittney which I now wonder if it didn't have a little to do with our blood type differences. None of us (the two types) are supposed to deal well with wheat or dairy. The A's do well with beans but about the only kind we tolerate is black beans or adzuki but I can't fine them. I think we're also fine with garbonzos. I found rice and spelt pasta which I use to be strict about and then got away from it, but when I did my inflammation issues came back full fury. I have every issue O's can have if you don't eat right. Inflammation, thyroid issues, autoimmune. A's have very delicate digestive systems and that definitely plays out with my husband and daughter. I have all the books. I wholeheatedly agree with it. Didn't want to believe in it, but started noticing the symptoms I would get when I ignored it.

Hi Jeanie and mercuryfreeme, thanks for replying you guys! Jeanie, I was really happy to see that someone else was open minded enough to see the possibiblity here with blood type eatting. Sure I have been merc detoxing for almost a year and a half but theres more to my problems than that I feel sure. I have been skin tested for allergies. I have been IgG blood tested for delayed on set food senisitivities. And the only thing that came up was slight reaction to eggs and bananas. But what I couldn't quite grasp was even though I do my best to eat realitively healthy and following the candida diet, (no white flour, no yeast, no sugar, no caffeine) it is unbelievable how my mind/body feels approx. 30 min after I eat. I"d be fine before I ate even though I have low blood sugar as get irritable and shakey before I eat. But man after I ate, wow you think I'd just ate a box of crispy cream donuts or something. Also statistics show that between 75-90% show significant improvement in their health after following this diet plan. And yes I could stand to loose a few more pounds but that is not my main objective. I want to feel normal, to remember things, to not have to take a nap after I eat, to not have constant brain fog and to not have to take anti depressants for the rest of my life! Just doing the candida diet plan for a year I lost 24 lbs. But the candida plan almost goes hand in hand with the type O diet plan. No potatoes, bread, ect.. I am inspired with your year plus on this plan. Thank you for your feedback and not just saying I was crazy. The hard part for me is never doing fast food cause I have 2 kids, no french fries, potaoes, chips,, hamburgers, pasta, pizza, ice cream ect... Actuallt Ive acclimated quite well to the no pizza and sugar.. but french fries & potaotes and corn too? Lord, give me strength! Well keep me posted with your progress and any recipes for you and your hubby cuz me and my hub are type A and O also. Thanks again! Diane

Yah - potatoes are hard. We can eat (for our blood type -O's) sweet potatoes. I love the ones that are really like potatoes - they sell them here at "boniatos" I guess from South America in the more exotic food ailes. I'm not as fond of yams - the creamy deep orange type. Corn messes with our insulin function...(and all its derivatives...)
