I started a parasite cleanse last night. I decided to do the gentle cleanse which is half the normal dose because the box said for first time cleansers to do that. After my 3rd dose which was this afternoon, I felt horrible. Back hurts, horrible headache, nausea, tired, achy. Is this die off? I guess that is a stupid question but would it be that soon? I am also taking garlic supplements and eating raw garlic, rubbing coconut oil and castor oil on skin, taking probiotics, and other vitamins and minerals. It is also Day #2 after final amalgam removal - did I do this too soon? Should I chelate for a few rounds first? Or stick it out now? I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and I hope I am up to it. I am not totally down for the count - just feel sick. Oh, I had 1 BM this morning but feel like I have to go but nothing since then. Taking lots of vitamin C and mag to help flush toxins out and tons and tons of water. Any advice?

Sounds like die off with a vengeance to me : ) I'd slow down....hang in there, though.

I was often nausious a day or two after amalgam removal. Some parasite cleanses contain herbs that are laxatives(like senns, buckthorn(cascara), etc., while the typical antiparasitic herbs likw black walnut green hull extract and wormwood have a mild laxative effect. Which parasite cleanse are you using? What does it have in it? The antiparasitic cleanses are also very antifungal, so you may be experiencing a candida die off reaction. Taking extra B vitamins, vitamin c, and 500 mcg to 1 mg a day of molybdenum will probably help with this. You cold also try licorice root tea or milk thistle extract to help with detoxification. Remember to drink plenty of water while doing a parasite cleanse.

Yes I believe it probably is yeast die off. I have to admit I am not on the Candida diet - I did it awhile back and lost abotu 10 lbs that I could not afford to lose and was very depressed on diet. I do not eat any raw sugar or caffeine. I do have fruit and some fruit juice though. I do take molybdenum 600 mcg a day and pantetine 900 mg a day. I also take milk thistle 3x a day. I did all of that before getting amalgam removed. I take a lot of vitamin C and Bs too. And E and selenium. I actually feel a little better than I did earlier - except that there seems to be a war in my stomach - it makes all kinds of noises, lots of gas, and several bowel movements since earlier. I guess this is all to be expected. So I'll trudge on.

Be very careful with using antifungals etc. I did well enough on the diet alone, but when I introduced antifungals, I not only killed too much yeast at once, but also released the metals stored in the yeast and did myself much damage.

It overloaded my gut/liver, and made me acutely sick. This was not a good thing at all and I had to use chelating agents in an attempt to get it back out.

Diet allows your body to more slowly reduce yeast and deal with toxins, much more in its own time. Sometimes, antifungals can do more than what the body can handle and it's forced into dealing with too many toxins (for some). It depends on your overall condition, but you can really make yourself very toxic in the process.

I find that becaues my condition causes a continual yeast problem, that taking antifungals for me has been fruitless, because my immunity is low enough that the yeast continues to come back to a point regardless. So it's a case of ongoing symptoms which keep me very sick. I had to leave them out and simply stick to a healthy strict diet, which reduced yeast, but there was not the ongoing die off that even caused me bouts of vomiting a number of times. My liver had to cope with ongoing toxins from this process. A certain amount of yeast may naturally exist and each time it's killed off by antifungals, it tends to return over and over, because the real problem remains. Then, you become more toxic and more suseptible to yeast and so the die off continues.

This is just what I have experienced and may not be the same for others. Antifungals were NEVER a wise move for me. But they maybe for some people. Candida diets were the way to go, but I also had to eliminate high carbohydrate foods, that means no grain at all, no fruit and no high carb vegetables. That's just how it is for me and I know my limits.

Right now, I am having to start again because I cheated after being so good for so many months. It happens sometimes and I always realise the problem is there because the underlying condition is there. I cannot expect NOT to relapse, if the underlying problem has not been dealt with. Whatever that problem is exactly, is not so easily fixed! So I do what I can to live around the problem and eat as well as I can.

The worst culprits for me are - coffee, milk, grains (even non wheat/gluten too, yet they are usually fine for others), fruit, potatoes/carrots/peas/corn, sugar/honey, etc. I am limited, but thankful I can still eat lots of proteins and good fats, which keep me going. I could eat more vegetables though, but as it's winter here, not so keen on salads etc.

The thing with that parasite cleanse is the castor bean. That is a potent purgative that causes cramping in some people. There may be only a small amount in there, but still some people are sensitive to it. I wish the parasite cleanses would leave out senna, buckthorn, and castor bean. If someone wants, they can take these on their own. Humaworm has buckthorn and senna. Humaworm might make up a special batch without them if you request it. I guess they feel that including laxatives in the mix may make it easier to pass larger parasites. Even if there are small amounts of these laxatives, they may not make people rush to the bathroom, but might cause annoying cramping in some people. I don't tolerate these laxatives too well due to cramping, so I take extra licorice root tea when I need a little help.

I found parasite cleanses fine, never really got much reaction. Which of course indicates I probably didn't have parasite issues as such. But antifungal agents were the problem for me....I had to stop having coconut oil too because it's a strong antifungal and too much for my system to handle. I eat onions alot though and they are supposedly a mild antifungal...but they do not create problems for me.

Oh and mercuryfree, your symptoms correspond with die off. And yes, die off can begin within a few hours for some people. Some it may take a few days before they notice symptoms. Sounds like it's obviously a bit too strong for your body to handle at onetime....drink plenty of water and rest up if you're going to continue this. You may also find some homopathic/naturopath support drops helpful for kidneys/liver etc.

Typical symptoms of die off/detox can vary for each person. The ones I am familiar with are headaches (usually temples), nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea/constipation, chills, rashes, excessive thirst, frequent urination, excessive fatigue, heart racing, cramps, muscle aches, joint pain, foul taste in the mouth, swollen tongue (believe it or not), crying spells, salivation, metal taste, unusual vivid dreams, depression/anxiety, fears can increase, weight loss, irritibility/short tempered, sleepy/drowsy, yawning alot, itching, a worsening of itching in private parts, increase in discharge etc. and the symptoms can fluctuate as you heal, worsening, improving, worsening, improving. Sometimes you feel like you're just not getting better, because you keep experiencing similar symptoms, so patience is needed and will power. You appearance can look terrible. Some people when they are healing can look haggard sometimes as the toxins are loosened into your blood stream and take a while for the body to rid them properly and then begin to heal.

Symptoms can last a few weeks, even a few months. Healing is ongoing anyway. You can have deeply stored toxins/problems that haven't been addressed properly and may pop up unexpectedly, even after you've felt well. Symptoms can sometimes be a bit alarming and disheartening, but the key is hanging in there regardless of how it feels.

Rest, get enough sleep, and moderate exercise (walking for me is the best, but rebounding is really good to - mini trampoline).

Thanks - I am hanging in there. I went to the sauna this morning so I hope that helps to get some toxins out. It's not infrared - just dry but I figure sweating is sweating. By the way, since I got amalgams out I sweat so much more. I was a nonsweater for years. I also urinate more and have almost no ear discharge - I used to use 4 Qtips a day. I think I have a lot going on though and my body is actually handling it pretty well. I am detoxing from mercury, parasite cleansing (which I think is more candida cleansing for me since that is a bigger issue), and I am due to menstruate any day. Speaking of that - I usually get migraine headaches (bad headaches with horrible nausea and tired) for the whole week of so before I menstruate. ALthough I have some of those symptoms it is not the same headache and the nausea is transient which makes me think it is more die off and not my PMS stuff. Maybe just maybe the mercury was causing those migraines and now I will not have to suffer every month any more. But just think about how amazing our bodies actaully!

Hi mercuryfree, migraines can indeed be caused from amalgam toxicity. My Mother now gets them all the time and she has a mouth packed of amalgam and she has gold too (never combine metals in the same mouth). since gold, she's had worse headaches and migraines. Gold or other metals increases the release and uptake of mercury from amalgam. It also caused a galvanic response. Can worsen people's amalgam issues ten fold. Same thing happened to me when getting braces on my teeth and that was the final straw which sent me into chronic ill health. Even though they were removed, I was sick from then on and had to find ways to improve.

Andy Cutler recommends Saunas a way of detoxing mercury. He compares it to being as effective as a round of chelation. So you're doing the right thing. That's if you sweat properly, which it seems you are now doing. Good sign, I'd keep it up. Not overdo it, because you can lose minerals/salts through sweat apparently and need to recuperate, but I'd definitely do it regularly within reason.

You'll find exercise may help too, but be careful with overdoing it, because it stirs the metals up as well.

I hope that you will stop getting migraines! Perhaps ridding yourself of amalgams maybe the start of that. I sure hope so.

Mercury may have been indirectly causing the headaches. Mercury messes up the glands and hormonal balance. I hope you are taking in enough water and electrolytes(salt and potassium containing foods like vegetables) plus extra calcium and magnesium while doing the parasite cleeanse, especially if you are perspiring greatly.
