Anyone here use this? What dosage should be taken? What about lemon oil, cinnamon oil, or peppermint oil? I am trying to find information about what dosages would be appropriate for these. Anyone here know any good essential oil sites that focus on internal usage of essential oils, and what dosages to take? So far my internet searches have found websites talking about external use of these oils, and when they do discuss internal use, very rarely if ever are recommended dosages mentioned.

I've use lemon oil. I was told by a guy at a Whole Foods in Atlanta to put a drop or 2 in a liter bottle (or bigger?) I was carrying at the time. You can tell...it goes a long way. It actually feels/tastes too oily either way. Adds a nice freshness other than its other health benefits. Fresh is best, but its so easy. I've been using a little chlorophyll lately, too. Jeanie

One drop in a liter or water wouldn't do that much. Clove oil is used 1-5 drops at a time in 2 ounces or so of water, while pure oregano oil is typically used a drop or two at a time in 2 ounces of water. I would want to use at least a drop at a time in 2 ounces of water for ginger oil or lemon oil, but am wondering if much more can safely be used. I haven't seen anything about toxicity for ginger oil or lemon oil, however more than a drop at a time might be too much. I guess I will need to experiment on my own.

Do the fruit oils such as lemon oil or orange oil need to be refrigerated after they are opened?
PS. I found a website that says lemon oil should be refrigerated after opening.

No, all essential oils are fine at room temperature. The citrus oils are from the peels and are usually very anti-bacterial anyway.

This page says to refrigerate after opening. "Refrigerate after opening; indefinite shelf life when refrigerated" http://www.amazon.com/Lemon-Oil-Pure-5-oz/dp/B0006Q5OAYPerhaps it might not be necessary, although perhaps it might be a good idea? Perhaps it might be okay for a few weeks without refrigeration? Perhaps at room temperature it might not spoil, but might degrade in potency over time?
