Hello,
I'm going to have my amalgams removed soon and I have a pair of doubts about it. Maybe yo can give some advice. Do you know if it's useful to use iv gluthation during removal? And, how much time do you have to wait to cross the midline barrier of your mouth to remove the amalgams of the other side? I mean, Can the dentist remove an amalgam from the other side of your mouth, one or two days later after a previous removal?
thanks

And, how much time do you have to wait to cross the midline barrier of your mouth to remove the amalgams of the other side? I mean, Can the dentist remove an amalgam from the other side of your mouth, one or two days later after a previous removal? yes, 1 or 2 days later is fine. what you want to avoid is having removal 7, 14 or 21 days after the previous removal. You should try and make sure you are as healthy as possible too. if you have a cold or feeling rough, just postpone until you feel better. some people, like me, felt really bad after amalgam removal and i needed to wait 1 month before all the symptoms subsided before i could get the next quadrant out. The 7/14/21 day thing is what is called the 7 day body’s immune cycle. Your body has a immune response to a stress (i.e. amalgam removal gives you a dose of mercury and your body mounts a protection process to stop the contamination as much as it can, i.e. to heal you.) this immune response repeats every 7 days, gradually getting weaker. you do not want to have amalgam removal when your body is having an immune response from a previous removal...you get double the trouble. This is exactly what happened to me, my symptoms repeated 7/14 and 21 days after each quadrant removed. not everyone gets it...depends on a zillion different things you have zero control over. To get the full scoop on this you should read "It's all in your head" by Hal huggins. He is good with amalgam removal.....afterall he is a dentist. his detox is not so hot though. Good luck.

I agree. I wished I had done it right the first time and I cannot go back. Hal Huggins is onto it on so many things, but for me, he's been a bit "off" in regards to the use of DMSA. I tried it his way and went through the roof with insane symptoms and that was only with one isolated dose of 50 mg. Yet when taking Cutler's way (taking 50 mg every 4 hours around the clock), the symptoms were then more stable and the chelation was far safer even though I was using much more over the day. It also meant I was getting rid of more mercury and faster than before.
Hal Huggins is very much up on the dangers of amalgam and other toxicities in other dental materials and also cavitations/root canals etc.
I find his thoughts on candida confusing and incorrect as far as my own experience went. One minute he's stating in his book about diet and how it's wise to rid ones diet of sugar, caffeine, wheat/gluten, etc and have enough protein from meat, eggs, etc and enough butter and salt etc....
Yet another time I read that he considers candida "our friend" in regards to mercury. As though somehow it acts as a buffer/protection. Well my experience with candida has been nightmarish depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts, severe uncontrollable itching in private places that drove me just about insane (i'd lie awake in tears). Unable to function properly, blurring of vision, etc etc. It just pretty much combined with the toxicity of mercury and caused total havoc. I was unable to handle the mercury because my gut and liver were overloaded with candida toxins/alcohols daily. it also allowed mercury to do more damage to me.
When treating candida, many symptoms lifted/improved - both psycholgoical and physical (both to my mind are the same anyway, the brain is just another organ - it gets ill like the organs elsewhere).
I believe that yeast there is a certain amount of natural yeast growth in the presence of toxic metals. But the immunity, being low, also cannot keep yeast in balance and it quickly becomes a further threat on top of mercury. Making a bad situation alot worse if someone eats sugar and other foods that this yeast can then thrive on and gain the upper hand quickly inside the body. Even "some" sugar can be enough to keep yeast overwhelming a person. If yeast is to be reduced to a more tolerable level, I found that I had to exclude ALL sugar (completely, no exceptions) and yeast, wheat/gluten and even high carb natural foods too that have potential to feed yeast in a person that has pretty severe sickness.
Is yeast really our friend? I do not believe so when it gains the upper hand in a toxic situation with a low immunity. Yes to a certain extent it "may" bugger, but any further growth beyond that already dodgy level can be disastrous for some of us. I think Huggins needs to consider this before telling people that yeast is our friend, because some get the impression by this that they should then go and feed this "friend" and consume all the things that yeast loves....

I've personally found Mercola's methods a bit "off" too. I've heard that about yeast before, but not through Huggins and not quite that positively. Just wondering if you've tried astragalus or plant sterols for your immune system? I have autoimmune issues and find that particularly, for me, astragalus helps. I had a hard time consistently taking....this formula - can't think of name - starts with an M) brand that touted for balancing the immune system just cause it recommended taking on an empty stomach. (Have to take armour thyroid on my empty stomach in a.m and then get hungry...then my stomach isn't empty...) Now its expired...still taking, though, here and there. But Astragalus does seem to help me keep my resistance up. I take garlic pills nightly, too, to offset candida, etc. I'm sure you know about that, though.

It's done!!!
I had all my amalgams removed. Left side on friday and right side on monday, so it was three days after first removal. I had vit c infusion before and after the removal. It is not completely IAOMT but it's the best that I've found in my country. It's thursday night and I haven't had any drawback till now (and I hope I won't have any). Let's see how it goes...

Make sure to load up on antifungal herbs for the next few weeks or longer, otherwise you could have a nasty candida flare up. Raw garlic, cinnamon, cloves, olive leaf extract, grapefruit seed extract, ginger, coconut oil, are some antifungals.

Hey turmoiler, congratulations to you! You have taken the first and vital step towards recovery. A bit part of that was a good, safe/protected removal process. Nothing is perfect, but near enough to "as good as it pretty much can get" is good enough and would have saved you from much more exposure to mercury vapor than otherwise. I hope that your recovery from the still remaining mercury will not be painful or long. It really does differ for everybody, but at least you know many have gone through it and maybe able to help and support you on this journey. It's a strange thing once you rid your mouth of this poison. The body can go through some unusual changes. For me, it was almost immediate change in weight (reduction) and less bloat/puffiness. But other things got worse as my body was now trying to deal with the problem. Sometimes detox can seem worse than the actual poisoning, but it's because the body is asserting itself and trying to excrete the storage. Again, you may not go through that as much as some do. Some can make very quick recoveries, others maybe much longer. Intensity of symptoms vary from person to person and even in the same person (from day to day, or even in the same day). It's a strange thing. Take care and best wishes
