Val's adrenal board is full of people asking the same thing. She is advocating stress dosing and extra salt - although it makes me swell too. If extra HC isn't cutting it, you may need Florinef, which regulates the sodium / fluid balance. I take 150mcg Florinef daily - couldn't cope without it.
Are you doing better generally?

Val's suggested that I try Florinef again; I tried it once, a small dose, and felt pretty bad. But I'm pretty bad in the heat anyway. I was really struggling at work today, crying at lunchtime, couldn't focus. Then I taught a lesson, must have had an adrenaline release, and feel a lot better now. This doesn't bode well for someone trying to rest their adrenals.
It's supposed to cool down tomorrow at least.
And yes, how have you been Dawn?

Thank heavens its going to get cooler tomorow! I get times where im feeling totally overwelmed by the heat, and sweat like im in a sauna, pretty embarrassing at work, also getting adrenalin flushes, someone asked if i had been on holiday i look like a lobster when it happens. i never had this symptom before even before H.C. In hot weather it is not only important to take in more water and extra salt, but also additional potassium and other minerals. Potassium supplements in pill form might damage the digestive tract. A better idea is to eat potassium containing foods, which are basically all fruits and vegatables. Milk is also a good source of potassium. If you want to take potassium supplements, get capsules and open them up and dissolve them in plenty of water, or else get liquid potassium and disolve it in plenty of water.
Sometimes when there is hot weather there is also a thermal inversion, and the level of pollution in and around large cities might rise dramatically. If you are very chemically sensitive as I am, this might be a problem. with the warmer weather, if there is also humidity then mold levels in the air might be much greater than normal.

Now foods sells a pure bulk powder of Potassium Gluconate. Gluconate is the salt of gluconic acid which has many beneficial effects in the body, one of which is promoting food bacteria to grow in the large intestine.
The above product has worked really well when I used it, and if you have trouble with the heat you should give it a try. 1 teaspoon has 15% RDA of potassium.

In the hot weather people perspire more, so it may be more likely to have fungal infections of the skin.
