I'm almost ready to have my amalgam fillings removed and now I'm researching dentists. I know there is so much to keep in mind when choosing a dentist and I would value some input about this dentist and his protocol: http://www.robertgammal.com/AmalgamDocs/AmalRemProtocols.htmlHe looks very good to me, but I was wondering if there is anything additional I need to ask him about his protocol or anything else I should consider before setting up an appointment with him? I've read heaps on the subject but not a lot sticks, I have a terrible memory so I would value some input One excellent thing is that he has worked with Hal Huggins! I also really like the fact that he gives samples of potential replacement materials to take home. From reading through the rest of his site he seems to be driven by a motivation to make a difference rather than it just being about money. I'm not so interested in his suggestions for detox including cholera etc -- i will follow Andy Cutler for detox and chelation but he seems like a good choice for removal? Regards, Cara

I just read through the website and I am highly impressed with this guy! Congratulations on finding him. I honestly don't think I can fault the stuff I read, he seems to have gone through absolutely EVERYTHING. I've read it more than once and I wish to heck I had found someone like that when first embarking on amalgam removal.
He provides everything in regards to protection during removal, but also understand the immune cycle (7 - 14 - 21 day cycle), plus is well aware of biocompatibility in relation to replacement materials (I would recommend getting a serum test done too by the way for this).
He is also aware of the toxicity of cavitations and root canals.....I am honestly not sure what more he could provide. This is excellent. I hope that he lives up to what I see on that website.
Best wishes to you, I think you're onto an excellent dentist here, if the website is anything to go by!

Thanks guys, There were a few dentists I was looking at but I feel really good about this one. If he is any good I will post my experience here. There is still a while to go but I cannot wait to get the amalgams removed and begin the crazy chelation roller coaster. I'm so ready to (hopefully) move forward another step

Hi guys, The above dentist has retired but last week I went to see a Dentist who has trained under him and I thought I'd post about it here in case it ever helps someone! I was quite impressed with the dentist I went to see her name is Urvashi Pandey. The first thing she did was to ask about my diet and supplements, I told her that I'm completely avoiding grains, dairy sugar etc, and then listed the supplements (mostly those recommended by Andy). She was pretty impressed with my diet etc and basically said that I sounded like I knew what I was doing and didn't really need her advice in that department! She then outlined the protocol they follow for removal which is using filtered air for the patient(oxygen nose tubes), negative ion generators used in the surgery, they will not cross the midline during an appointment, using rubber dam (she said if you don't use a dam you will cause so much damage you may as well keep the fillings in), sequential removal, avoidance of the 7,21,28 day immune cycle (receptionists are told not to book in on these days as well in case you forget when making an appoint), they can also do bio compatibility testing of replacement fillings and bonding materials and they have 8 different types of anesthetic (including non adrenaline based anesthetic which they test as well. The testing is Orion electrodermal testing -- i'm not sure how accurate it is but I'm going to use it as a starting point and consider serum testing if i'm still not sure. I asked if they used diamondlite, after hearing about it on here she hadn't heard of it but said that if I could send her the MSDS and if she was satisfied with that she would obtain and use it for me!! They also do not use flouride or do root canals at the surgery. All in all she was very helpful, warm, and very open to all the questions I had. She gave me her card and encouraged me to ring if I had any further questions. Actually her exact words were "I'm sure you'll have questions" which was very encouraging. I asked her about her how she got involved in amalgam removal. It turns out she started off as a regular dentist in India, but then developed an eye condition and almost lost sight in both eyes. That is when she started researching and linked it to mercury. That was only after two years of working with mercury!! That led her to seek out alternatives which brought all the way to Australia to train with Robert Gammal. I'm glad she told me this story as it really confirms that she takes mercury seriously, in addition she only does 3 amalgam removals per day to limit her own exposure to mercury. She said she really enjoys getting up and coming to work everyday and making a difference in peoples lives and talking to her you really get a sense that that is totally true. She has a great energy and enthusiasm about her even after 8 years of doing amalgam removal! Unfortunately, while i felt really comfortable about the removal protocols I'm not so sure about the detox protocols as the naturopath follows Klinghardt (chlorella, corriander) and I think i read something about some sort of challenge test, he also will refer you to a medical practitioner "if DMPS chelation is indicated", yikes. However my dentist did stress that they would be happy to work with any other naturopath if I was already working with one so at least they are not pushing one way as the only way. I will just stick with Cutler protocol!! I do have some questions about some aspects of the protocol that I'm not sure of and hope to get some feedback on but I'll save that for another post and another night in case no-one gets this far
