I'm trying to make sense of how I got so wiped out yesterday (felt like death). The night before I took 2 Candex on an empty stomach (per instructions). Candex advertises "no die off symptoms" because the yeast get their cell walls digested by cellulase enzymes.
When the cell walls are broken doesn't the contents spill? How is this different from using something that might kill the Candida (Capricylic acid)?
I've read in plenty of places that Candida can harbor mercury and that the die off could easily be the yeast releasing this mercury back into the body.
If this is the case wouldn't you take the yeast killers with something that can chelate mercury (Algin, chlorella, pectasol, etc?).
I've also read in several places that it is thought that the yeast can methylate mercury making it much more harmful. I can see a possible vicious cycle here. Killing the yeast would stop thje methylation and should reduce the symptoms after the initial dump concludes.
Anyone have experience in this area?

Hi, I would take the "no die off" claims with a grain of salt. If there is success in reducing yeast, normally you will experience a worsening of symptoms initially. I don't see how that can be avoided.
I got yeast die off just by diet alone. But it was much safer than antifungals. But I still got sick because they still release their yeast alcohols/toxins back into your system, even if they are simply "dying".
Sometimes you can get metal release into your system for sure! I find diet alone is ok, I mainly got yeast die off rather than anything else. antifungals however was another story. So not sure what symptoms you're experiencing, whether just yeast die off, or a combination of metals there as well (which is possible).
Yep, I've read yeast can methylate mercury as well. All I know is, I was much worse with overgrowth than I was without it! It just made my mercury poisoning FAR FAR worse and I was very suicidal until I tackled the yeast by diet. Antifungals "can" help in severe cases, but I don't believe they are a long term solution personally. I think change of lifestyle/diet and building immunity is the best long term treatment of yeast and tackling whatever has allowed it to overgrow in the first place. Whether that's mercury, or other illness.
algin may help, as might chlorella, but you may react badly to Chlorella as it can also mobilise mercury as well. Algin tends to act as a sponge when it comes into contact with mercury.
Whatever you decide to do, after the initial worsening of symptoms when you tackle yeast, you should start to experience improvements. I would never treat yeast without doing the diet, that is the foundation of treating yeast and not doing the diet is like feeding yeast by diet and then trying to get rid of it by medication or other methods. It doesn't work that way. You must eliminate all sugars and high carb foods/yeasts etc, even fruit/milk/grains,high carb vegetables (potatoes, corn etc) may need to be eliminated or at least reduced. Depending on how bad you have the problem. You should also avoid wheat/gluten products, they are very bad. You may get away with non wheat and non gluten grain. But grains of any kind are still high carb foods and can potentially cause problems.
My diet is highly restricted because I have viral infection and my immunity is in bad shape because of this and no doubt other hidden infection. So I cannot eat grain or fruit or have milk at all. Nor can I have high carb vegetables like potatoes, peas, corn etc. I exist on eggs, meat, liver, chicken, acidophilus yoghurt, raw nuts (almonds/brazil), sunflower/pumpkin seeds, low carb vegetables and plenty of healthy fats/oils like butter, lard, extra virgin olive oil, fish oil (mercury free) etc.
Before these infections, when I just had mercury alone, I did not need to be quite as restrictive. I was able to still eat some fruit, non gluten grain and add milk to my tea and cereal. I could also have potatoes and other high carb foods. So long as I avoided wheat/gluten, sugar and yeast, I did just fine.
Things have changed! So you have to adjust to your situation. Also other additions can help like garlic too, natural antifungal foods are good to consume. Building immunity by these things is the main way to battle yeast in the long run.
Take care <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/byebye.gif" alt="" />

There can be a lot of yeasts in your stomach and colon. You might just want to do some colon cleansing in conjunction with the yeast cleanse to move it through quicker. Herbal colon cleanse, hydrotherapy, high enema, whatever. Just move it out quicker and you'll feel a lot better.

Bex, That's what I believe also. I got yeast die off just by diet alone. But it was much safer than antifungals. But I still got sick because they still release their yeast alcohols/toxins back into your system, even if they are simply "dying".
The Candex is not prescription it's enzymes that break down the Candida cell walls, they actually digest it and thus releasing the innards. I wonder if the products that kill if they don't kill immediately the yeast will get "sick" maybe making you sick. Maybe they methylate more mercury when sick, maybe they do something more to try to survive. Who knows? I'm trying to eliminate food triggers. I've decided that Almonds are bad for me. I'm not sure if it's a nut allergy or possibly the: phosphorus, copper, potassium (not likely) or iron content. I seem to have an aversion to corn also.

Well I've been on the Candida diet and taking Candex for about a month and I've felt better during but had a couple of bad days lately. I have lost about 8 pounds by cutting out all sugar, sweets and refined flour. But not so happy without my ice cream and cookies.
