So I told my parents about my dental amalgams but they don't think I have mercury amalgams. My amalgams are silver so I'm 99.9% sure they are mercury based. Am I right on assuming they are the mercury amalgams? thx

100pct for sure. If your fillings are the color of metal i.e. silver. Then 100pct for sure they have mercury in them. I have read that as a general rule of thumb, silver fillings are 40-50pct mercury. Can be as low as 10-20 pct, but you have no way of finding out. The more mercury in the filling, the softer it is….and therefore the easier it is for the dentist to place in your tooth. If the dentists don’t think mercury is a problem, why would they not make their life easier?
Mercury is toxic in ANY amount. The only level of mercury that is NOT toxic is ZERO mercury.
Whats important is that you believe and understand that there is mercury in there and that something needs to be done about it. Figuring that out is hard enough, trying to convince other people is……difficult, time-consuming and frustrating.

I'm 99.9% sure that silver filling have mercury in them. I hear that they could be anywhere between 40 to 70 percent mercury. It depends on how much is mixed before they fill the tooth. Californian and some other states dental facilities are required to post the dangers of amalgams (silver fillings) but the rest of the country has to catch up.

Absolutely! I had to inform somebody on another forum of this. They were sitting there telling everyone, that they took all the mercury out of the metal fillings, so they are all safe now! I'm like wtf? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/gunshot.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dead.gif" alt="" /> They ARE mercury, that's what holds them together!!! If they are metal, they are mercury amalgam. It's people like that, who make others believe there's no mercury in them anymore.
I can't wait until this poison is out of my mouth!! I hope you can get yours out, mathblaster.

Alright guys thx for the replies. I'm so glad I found this out. I am trying to look at the positive sides of things. I feel as if I learned a great lesson in empathy so it wasn't all bad.
