I'm so happy today, I can't stop smiling. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/horray.gif" alt="" />
In September 2006 I had a pre and post urine test for toxic metals. It was taken 8 months after I got all 7 of my amalgams replaced. The post test means that I took DMSA before collecting the urine to pull the metals out of any tissues. This was the result at that time: Arcenic pre 38, post 19 Bismuch pre 0, post .6 Cadmium pre 0, post .8 Lead pre 0, post 3.3 Mercury pre 1, post 14 Nickel pre 4.4, post 5.5 Thallium pre .5, post .5 Tin pre 1, post 5 Everything was within the "reference ranges" except the post mercury of 14.
Now here is the exciting news. The toxic urine test results from 2/2008 Arcenic pre 14, post 20 Cadmium pre .4, post .4 mercury pre 1.5, post 2.5 Mercury pre 1.5, post 2.5!!!! Nickel pre 3.6, post 5.2 Thallium pre .6, post .5 Everything was within the reference ranges. The reference range for mercury is 4. I totally got rid of the Bismuth, Lead, and Tin!! I'm not sure what Thallium is but this one seemed to be the worst. It is considered elevated when over .8 and mine was .6. I haven't talked to my doctor yet about the results, but I would like to do some FIRS to get the rest of the mercury out as long as I am not pregnant. We plan on starting to try in April.
Just wanted to share my good news!!

Hi Chigirl, congratulations!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twothumbsup.gif" alt="" />
The test results definitely seem to reflect your situation has most definitely changed (improved) and whatever you've done has worked well.
How do you feel? That is the main thing. Do you feel healed? Improved? That's the real test.
What did you do by the way during this time to get metals out of your system ? This is wonderful news and I love hearing success stories, or just people on their way to healing. I know it all takes time though.
Great going!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Thanks Bex Well, I was very strict on the Candida diet and still mostly follow it even know the candida and parasties are gone. I really worked hard at getting my gut healthy again. I still take probiotics, L-glutamine, and iodine. I formally did chelation for 4 months, taking EDTA and DMSA. I also had about 10 sessions in the FIRS, 30 minutes at a time. I also made myself a "greens smoothie" almost every morning, using a good greens powder. I still drink it occasionally. I did take the algin when I was doing the chelation. I also did about 4 or 5 coffee enemas for detoxing and lots of epsom salt baths.
Now I am mostly dealing with hormonal issues. All my current symptoms could all be from hormones. In fact, I am taking estrogen and progesterone which has helped. I have an appointment with an accupuncturist next Monday because I believe my liver is "stressed" and this is contributing to the hormonal stuff. We'll see how that goes. It does make sense that my liver would be stressed after doing so much detoxing over the last 2 years!

Hi Chigirl,
Sounds like you've done alot of good for your body. Some chelation, but mostly looking after yourself and eating right and taking good stuff as well.
It all works together. I found things that were good for my liver were raw salads (alfalfa, celery, cabbage/carrot, beetroot, lettuce etc) and dandelion coffee/tea. They really seem to help. I can't have dandelion coffee now because I think it contains some lactose, but it's still good if you can handle that.
Plus antioxidants too. Hope all goes well with doing more for your liver, whatever is prescribed. It does take time to heal from this condition and also there is usually leftover mercury and often in the brain and organs, which is not so easy to shift. Some people use cilantro for that (chinese parsley).
Cutler recommends ALA (alpha lipoic acid) taken every 3 hours (lowish dose to start) for a few days each week non stop.
I wouldn't do that though unless my body/blood levels of mercury were first reduced. It takes months for that to happen.

Congratulations chigirl,
you did it, I just want to make some question about some things you mention in your post. I am quite new to this and there are a lot of things that I dont understand. Excuse me if I make silly questions. These are my questions: I would like to know what is edta, and what is the firs? what is greens smoothie? how do you prepare it? what do you use it for? Do ypu prepare your own enemas? what kind of coffee do you use? How often did you take epson baths and how did you prepare it? Did you use algin only when chelating or did you use it also before chelation in order to reduce the mercury intake?
Yes, I know that they are a lot of question, but I really need a lot of help
Thanks Sergio

Don't worry about asking question! They are not silly. We were all there at one point! EDTA is a chelation agent. There is some controversy whether it is the best thing for pulling mercury out of the body. My doctor did some research with it in a product called Detox Max. It has a very unique delivery system. He actually had the patients' urine tested before taking it and after and it did pull the mercury out of the body. http://www.agriorganics.com/detox-max-plus/FIRS stands for Far Infared Sauna. It is very good at pulling toxins and heavy metals out of the skin. I had to have some blood work done to make sure I could handle it though. I found a spa in Chicago that charged $20 for 30 min sessions. Greens smoothie: I basically made myself a fruit smoothie (ie: water, apple, stevia, and frozen berries) and put in a tsp of a greens powder. You can buy this at the Vitamin shoppe, Whole foods, or a local health food store. Sea veggie are good for detoxing heavy metals. Algin is made from brown seaweed. It took me years to get up the nerve to give myself a coffee enema. It just freaked me out for some reason. It is also called the liver detox emema. If you do a search on line you will find out more info about it. Dr Shery Rogers has a book called Detox or Die, and she discusses the detox enema and the FIRS a lot. I only used the algin when I was chelating at first. It binds to the mercury in the gut to help it get eliminated from the body. It helped to decrease brain fog for me during chelation, but it did irritate my eczema sometimes. Sometimes I still take it when I eat fish. Let me know if you have any more questions. Mickey: I feel so much better it is amazing. I don't have brain fog anymore, my acne is gone, even the color of my skin looks different. I always thought of myself as having pale-pinkish skin, but now it almost looks like I am slightly tan. My feet were always pink to, not anymore. I still occasionally get a headache and some neck shoulder pain around my periods due to hormonal issues. But before, I had so much shoulder pain that I could hardly carry a purse without increasing my pain. I'm exercising again, 2-3 times a week, my sex drive has improved, and I'm sleeping better. Less dry itchy skin, eczema is better. Mood is better. Less negative thinking. My immune system is so much better to. I work in a hospital and I don't seem to get the things that are going around like everyone else is. I also sweat more and feel like I am better able to regulate my body temperature. I also think getting rid of the mercury helped me to heal my gut. I was on the candida diet for a year without to much success. I successfully got rid of 2 kinds of yeast, 3 parasties, and C-diff after chelation!!! I was also allergic to 4-5 kinds of grasses and trees, cats, dogs, ragweed, dust, mold, pollen. I had a skin test and I only have a mild allergy to dust now. I also had the allergy shots which may have contributed to that success. I got rid of a food allergy to eggs and gluten. I think I also got rid of the dairy and soy allergies, but I do not have the money to get re-tested. It is not covered by insurance. I've been slowly adding these back into my diet without problems so far. I think I could come up with more things that improved if I thought about it longer... I don't think I could have done it without the guidance of my doctor and the support and knowledge I had from the this site and the yeast connection site. I would like to dedicate my "success post" to Sandi Flood. She was the one that helped me to get the mercury/candida link and I could not have done it without her. She drilled it into my head and provided me with so many helpful links and informative research. She will be missed. chigirl
