I've got them, they will be posted on living well soon.

A recap...

High Calcium 1860 and high Magnesium 110. High Iodine 2.1 and Cobalt .038. Low Potassium 9 and Copper 10. Sodium 29 (12-90). Lithium Low at .006. Manganese Low at .16 (Also very low are Germanium, Rubidium and Zirconium).

Everything else in normal ranges

Toxic section:

Aluminum high at 9.7 (should be less than 7.0) everything else below tolerance, Mercury at .31

According to what I've read this is a "classic" mercury profile the cal/mag and Na/K ratio indicative of Adrenal and Thyroid hypo function (my adrenals have been very weak and the thyroid explains a lot).

I found out three days ago that I need to supplement calcium. It has made a BIG difference already to correct my cal/mag ratio the last two days (I was taking NO calcium for the last few years not that it was ever indicated. Taking plenty of magnesium though).

I am taking adrenal support and wondering if I need to address thyroid. I read that fluoride can cause thyroid issues although taking enough C and Calcium and changing diet to reduce Fluoride are supposed to help. (If you didn't know in the US fluoride is in ALL the food because it was in the water for so long and it is a fertilizer by product. There is a government database at http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/Data/Fluoride/Fluoride.html)

Cheers!

Well, I don't think hair test results are that useful. They may tell something, but in your case you are completely in the dark about what is really going on, and I bet nobody else can give you but educated guesses.

However, with CFS there is not much else to suspect than pathogens, pathogens and more pathogens. It's amazing, but mainstream medicine fails to detect these, in all majority of the cases. We're talking about mycoplasma bacterias, intestinal parasites, candida and so on. While everyone has mycoplasma bacterias, in weakened individuals these can become systemic, and they can pass the brain blood barrier.

Looking at your supplement list:
magnesium, taurine, and molybdenum are sure winners, but will not take you far.

For treating CFS a systematic program is needed. Those supplements that will help most are undenatured whey protein, and some brand of liposomal glutathione (e.g redisorb). Other very important helpers are L-carnitine and acetylcarnitine, and Q10. Alpha lipoic acid is also important, but it really depends on how well you are able to tolerate it how much you take of it, as is everything else.

For detoxing bacterial and parasite wastes e.g. ammonia and acetaldehyde plus possibly other toxins: glutathione, molybdenum, ornithine, carnitine, taurine. This waste management is particularly important, because often people get it too uncomfortable to be able to continue the detoxing.

The dosing of these supplements is important, but no small amounts is enough, not even nearly. You need to take these supplements daily, and adjust the dosage appropriately, while slowing down when you get a die-off.

Sitting down and doing nothing is also a waste of time, because (you guessed it) you will not ever get well, unless you do something (the right things) about it. Mainstream medicine will not at least provide any solution for you.

One thing more. While there are many protocols to treat CFS, none of them appears to be a winner. You have probably heard about the Marshal protocol? It is quite expensive to follow, because the drug to lower D-vit in this treatment is expensive, and the die-off reactions have been harsh for some. The simplified Yasko protocol is actually a quite light one, with weak ingredients, I'm not sure how successful this has been. The Cheney protocol appears to be quite complex, but the whey protein approach appears to be successful. I think it's best to experiment yourself, if you understand more what you're doing.

I've heard about mycoplasma and there is even good testing for them but for me the jury has been out as to whether they are primary or secondary to CFS. Why are you sold on mycoplasma, has it worked for you?

Whey seems to help but makes me edgy. I think it must contribute to an already high cysteine. Carnitine helps me sleep but lowers cortisol too much for me to use for any length of time. I get the same from L-Glutamine. Never got much from Q10 and ALA seems to move mercury.

I have recently been taking alpha-ketoglutarate and Butyrate to handle ammonia and was already taking molybdenum for acetaldehyde.

For me the key lately has been to keep close attention to my back and adrenals/kidneys. I can take things that chelate or move toxins then my lower back starts hurting and I need to back off.

Yes, mycoplasma are likely because they are known to cause autoimmune disorders - e.g. thyroid problems, rheumatoid athritis etc. They are also good at hiding (lacking a cell wall), In addition you have to consider the fact that antibiotics give so intolerable symptoms to many, so we are not talking about viruses at least here. Viruses can be present in the illness too of course. Ordinary bacterias can be detected, mycoplasma are not easy to detect, not at least with standard tests. Some also get autoimmune disorder flare-ups when the immune system is mobilized, which may be a problem in some cases.

Yes, I noticed this lower back hurting as well, when I get a die-off. It's something coming out through the liver, probably dead remains of something - bacterias? I don't have CFS, but this just shows that our underlying root cause is similar. Amalgam illness without CFS seems to be an early stage to a full-blown CFS. Later in the illness some get CFS though, and some do not, depending in genetic weaknesses etc.

It seems to me that you're doing the right things, and that what you are doing will lead to something good in the end. Liver support is indeed important when it starts coming out stuff. As for the adrenals, its harder. For me using B5 was simply enough.

Story of my life.....lower back pain. I seem to have eliminated everything else that it could possible be…..liver, kidneys, posture, muscular, disks, office chair, bed…..only thing remaining is mercury causing muscle weakness. So I gotta chelate, chelate, chelate

I had look at your test, but I need to look at the hair test book to have any idea what it means, and I’m sure Yahoo FDC will reply sooner anway.

Sregan, there is also another reason why mycoplasma are likely.

Mercury Modulates Immunity at 15 ng/L:
"Evidence is emerging that exposure to mercury (Hg) may elicit many pathological manifestations, including immunomodulation"

http://alt.nntp2http.com/med/allergy/2007/05/e2486b3a96c8eb291c75556b262e6dfe.html

Immunomodulation means in this case a shift from Th1 activity to Th2, or the other way around. T-helper 1 cells (Th1) target organisms that invade cells, such as viruses, but despite being a bacteria, mycoplasma also belongs to this category, While T-helper 2 cells (Th2) target organisms that are found outside of cells, like other bacterias, parasites etc.

http://www.immunesupport.com/chronic-fatigue-syndrome-causes.htm

A shift towards Th2 activity appears to be dominant in mercury poisoning, however. So one should expect to have mycoplasma, and viral infections in mercury poisoning. Knowing this, and one can try to increase the Th1 activity, while suppressing the Th2 activity.

I had a look at yr hair test….

Counting rules not meet, which implies normal mineral transport.

Aluminium is high in mercury toxic people. Page 86-87
This also indicates kidney problems p.87
Mercury causes aluminium retention p.239
Reduce aluminium exposure

Very high calcium = opposite of body inventory which suggests calcium loss/wasting. P..109
Supplement calcium p109, Vit D, Boron, Magnesium p.251

Very high magnesium = opposite of body inventory, also indicates improper distribution in various parts of the body. Low body magnesium causes poor sleep, headaches, lots of muscle problems, heart problems irritability etc. p.110
Low body magnesium reduces the kidneys abilities to conserve calcium and potassium. P110
Supplement: magnesium, taurine plus try Epsom salt baths. P.251

Low potassium = low thyroid function which causes weakness, fatigue, thirst, constipation, weak reflexes, racing heart. P.112

Calcium/potassium ratio (CA/P) – your is very high which indicates you are a “Slow metabolizer” and you don’t make enough adrenaline. P.112
Supplement Vit B, salt and have a low fat diet

Potassium + sodium low together with Calcium + magnesium high = means adrenals not making enough cortisol or adrenaline and thyroid is low.
Supplement ACE and liquorice p.253
This is very common in mercury toxic people.

High-ish iodine = check thyroid function

All the above comments are from Cutler HTI book

My comments are you need to investigate and support adrenals and thyroid. Investigate supplements suggested. Support kidney function with specific herbs and or kidney cleanse
