I only discovered this recently. Has anyone else here looked into the effects of EMFs on health? I've read that EMFs can affect the blood-brain barrier and cause it to allow larger molecules across. This can cause a person to absorb heavy metals. To complete a vicious circle, mercury can cause electrosensitivity. At the same time as my amalgams were put in, we also got WiFi in our house. It had been on 24/7 ever since, until I had my husband switch it off yesterday. The internet is now going through our mains cables. There are already signs that this is going to benefit me, though I'm going to see how I feel over the coming days and weeks. I will report any progress here. I was interested to find, in the process of reading sites about electrosensitivity, stories from people who have had mercury problems in conjunction with their illness. Many of them have had metals removed from their mouths and have gone through chelation, improved their diets -- the sorts of things we do here. This is one such story, where electrosensitivity and mercury seem to have gone hand in hand. I wonder if that's been the case with me? And maybe for some others here? I'm excited about exploring this option. At the moment I'm looking into getting a reiki session designed to "clear" my body of negative energy and help me get on with healing. I can supposedly do reiki on myself as well, since I've been "opened." Heal thyself, LOL.

Just to add to this, here's what got me thinking. These are some (not all) of the symptoms of illness from EMFs:
-- interference with production of melatonin, resulting in (among other things): -- insomnia -- brain fog -- short-term memory problems -- fatigue -- low libido
-- aches and pains -- irritability -- depression -- heavy metal absorption (as mentioned above) -- anxiety
Guess what? I've had all those symptoms. They could be caused by other things too, but they are why I looked into this. Already I feel like a leaden, oppressive weight has been lifted off of me. Keeping fingers crossed. Unfortunately I went off the rails shortly before this and ate a lot of sugar, so I need to get that out of my body before I can properly assess how I'm feeling, and whether that changes.

Hi LindaLou I am electrically sensitive too and have given up my DECT phone, my electric blanket, and am getting a metal free mattress. I have thought about getting the metal canopy for my bed as I am in a high EMF area with loads of masts around. I bought some books from these people http://www.powerwatch.org.uk/publications.asp

Thanks for the link Mati. Are most people here aware of any EMF sensitivity they have? I'm surprised I've gone on so long without thinking about it myself.
I've experienced some noticeable improvements over the past few days. I did stop chelation during that time, figuring that three days off is what people are supposed to have between rounds anyway, and my body clock problems came back with a vengeance. I felt awful yesterday, but started chelation again and am thankfully back on an even keel.
Mercury is obviously still a big problem for me, but I think the EMF from the WiFi was also a piece of the puzzle. It will be interesting to see how I go over the next week or so, without exposure to that anymore.

Hi LindaLou
Even if we are not aware of the sensitivity, it pays those who are trying to regain their health to be aware of this problem. The book Electrical Hypersensitivity, A Modern Illness by Alasdair and Jean Philips contains a wealth of information, though you can get quite a bit off the interenet. I have never hired any equipment (The Health House) to test my home but might do it now, to find the best place to sleep etc. I make sure that there are no plugs left in anywhere near my head for sleeping, and use a normal not a long life bulb at my bedside.
The book says that if you show any signs of ES you should take care that you do not develop it further.

I just don't know . . .
I felt so much better those 2 days after we turned off the WiFi. In honestly dared to hope that I'd found a way to get better.
The past couple of days have been hard though. I've started chelation again because of the sleep problems. About half an hour ago it was time to put my daughter to bed, and I still have to prepare lunches for tomorrow and do some schoolwork. I just sat and cried because I felt utterly incapable of getting up and doing any of it. The simplest things are so difficult sometimes. Last night was just like this, and I struggled to concentrate while I did more schoolwork. I get as much done as I can in the daytime but sometimes I have no choice but to do some at night too.
It isn't so hard, I find, when I'm just plugging along day after day. But when I dare to get my hopes up about something and then find that I'm just as ill as ever, it's crushing. I'm sure it can't hurt to have the WiFi off. But it's beginning to look like it was only a minor part of the problem.

Hey there lil buddy, don't lose heart, y'all are on the right track, but there is much more a that EMF stuff out there than y'all would believe and most folks are none the wiser cuz they can't hear see or feel it. Hmmm, the magic of low frequency waves..... In my house we had a serious low frequency noise only I could hear, nonetheless, everbody couldn't sleep or concentrate. It's kinda like a low rumble sound , like a diesel truck parked outside the house. There's quite a few other folks talkin about this stuff, forums even . But I digress, the wifi, it's no dang good. Are ya livin in a detached house? Cuz otherwise, y'all are exposed to it if your neighbors have wifi. Travels through walls, ya know. Sometimes I hate the way we live nowadays and it ain't even necessary. Thing is, the chemtrails, emfs, HAARP ( look it up folks) mast towers are ALL BAD FOR HUMANS. and do very much interact with the mercury.. It's kinda like y'all are more conductive. Looks like y'all are human, Linda Lou. Sensitivity is a good thing when ya honor it but the world don't work that way yet. We gotta help make it so. Either way, big changes are gonna come. May as well be on the good foot. I think one day y'all could be a good healer.Go with the flow and believe in yourself. That goes for everbody.

Elvis, good to see you! Whenever you pop by you seem to have some good advice. Last time it was telling me to look up Bruce Lipton. I'm still working on that; I'm getting the message from various sources that I need to find out more about what he's saying.
I can see now that there really is a lot of harmful stuff in the environment. I'm still not sure how much the EMF was affecting me but I'm doing my best to detoxify now. I've also got this "healing harmoniser" necklace which is supposed to help protect me from EMFs (yes, some neighbours have WiFi across the street, and we can pick it up here). I don't honestly know how well it "works," but it's pretty if nothing else. I've seen recommendations for other things I can try if I want, including some herbs, and a homeopathic remedy. I've spoken to people who have actually healed themselves from electrical sensitivity so while it's probably best to avoid EMFs where possible, I don't think we're as helpless as it might seem.
The reiki session last night was brilliant. My energy is stronger and mosre stable today. I am comfortable with meditating again and also with channelling reiki myself -- something I lost interest in as the depression deepened. All this energy medicine really seems to be the "way to go" for me at the moment. Maybe I have an important future with it and healing, as you say, I don't know. Need to heal myself first
Let us know how you're getting on sometime?

wi-fi is worrying but its everywhere, we dont have it but im online with someone elses as my isp isnt working. there are whole towns who are wi-fi and its going to spread. i live about 100 yards away from very large phone masts, no wonder i feel the way i do.

Could well be Dawn. The reiki master who did a session with me over the phone, said that he's been so ill with electrosensitivity that he'd get burns on his skin, and sometimes just turning the lights on was too overstimulating.
Apparently in Sweden, ES is a recognised illness and you can claim it as a legitimate disability. They then subsidise you in protecting yourself, e.g. with paint that is supposed to shield the walls of your house.
Have you been away from your house, and the mast, long enough to get an idea of whether it's the mast that's causing you to feel so poorly?

I am suffuring from EHS in particular from mobile phone masts and wi-fi. I have had this condition for 4 years although I only suffer if I work or live near a mast, like at the moment.
I have 17 amalgam fillings which I reckon are the cause of my EHS. I believe that the EMR excites the mercury in my body and attracts it like a magnet. Also I think it causes electro galvinising in my mouth and when the signal is strong I get more mercury turning to vapor.
I would bet that every EHS person has amalgam fillings.
