Just wanted to let all of you know that Sandi is still holding on. But from what I hear, it won't be much longer.
I'd just like to say a few things about Sandi.
Sandi has been my dear friend for over four years. I am sick at heart over what she has gone through and is now going through. Granted, dying is something that all of us will eventually go through, I didn't want it to be this way for Sandi. Personally, I'll share that I'm no stranger to witnessing terminal illness. I've been through the process with family members and friends in the past. But to be honest, Sandi's experience has been a horrifying scene to witness. I think the injustice of her story is possibly the most difficult truth to digest.
As I think of my friend now preparing to leave this world that we know and embrace eternity, I will not forget the wonderful caring, gentle spirit that is Sandi.
We've exchanged seemingly hundreds of emails, scores and scores of telephone calls and made daring plans for superlative trips and excursions for us "sickies." During those voluminous emails and long telephone chats, we solved the world's health problems, and bettered the medical profession, and outlawed mercury and shoddy care for people around the world. We even got a little daring in our fantasies and concocted quite sophisticated plots to make the world a better place. I laugh and smile when I think of our ideas. But they were ideas whose beginnings were borne out of years of chronic illness, disappointment and desperation on both of our parts.
My heart is heavy and my mind is really too stunned to say all that I want to say about my friend. So I will borrow the words of John Donne. I'm sure Sandi won't mind:
"All mankind is one author and is one volume; When one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; And every chapter must be so translated; God employs several translators; Some pieces are translated by age, some by sickness, some by war, some by injustice; but God's hand is in every translation, And his hand shall bind up all our scattered leaves again, for that library where every book shall lie open to one another."
Oh! how Sandi will delight the Angels.
I love you, Sandi.

Hi somedaysoon, thanks for such a beautiful post. How can anybody really add much to that? Wow. Again, it pains me to hear this about Sandi and what she has gone through and battled for so long . But I believe her reward will be great!
Perhaps in a way it is our loss and her gain? one still hopes for a miracle though. If it's God's will that she passes on, she will be so greatly missed here and no doubt greatly received up above! especially after enduring such long suffering and always wanting to help others in the process.
Thanks again for your post and if any word can be passed to Sandi, tell her we are thinking of her, will never forget her, miss her a lot on here and love her too!

Thank you for passing the news abiout sandi, sharon. Unfortunetely I still don't know what to say as I am having bad time coming to terms with what happened to her. I'm thinking of you Sandi, and though I feel I can't say or do much really, I want to believe there is reward waiting for you. There wont be any justice nor order in this universe if such a beautiful person like Sandi doesn't get the mantion in heaven as shawn has said she so righteously deserves. All my new year's love to you Sandi!

Hi Sandi, I don't know if you will read this, but maybe the author can pass this on, I don't know you but I can see that you are well loved, I wish that I could have known you seeing the glowing remarks people have made about you on this board, but if it is true that God wants to keep you, just know that you will finally recieve that full healing on the other side that we have all been praying for you

"I 'M FREE"
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following paths God made for me , I took his hand, I heard him call, then turned and bid farewell to all. I could not stay another day, to laugh to sing to pray. Tasks left undone, must stay that way, I found my peace at close of day. And if my parting left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not be burdened deep with sorrow, I wish you all the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savoured much. Good friends, good times, my loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wants me now, he set me free. God didn't promise days without pain laughter without sorrow or sun without rain But God did promise strength for the day comfort for the tears and a light for the way. And for all who believe in His Kingdom of love He answers their faith, with peace from above. I thought this is a poem Sandi would appreciate. I think it sums everything up. Sandi may all the love shared by all your family and friends go with you. Tracy xxxx Love forever
