My MD said yesterday that he thinks within a month or so I will be able to excercise again. Haven't been able to do that since 2002. So pretty excited. I went ahead and did the DMPS challenge test and found out that my sulphur levels were very low. I've added NAC, glutithione and MSM to the regiment and am doing great on it. I know not all folks react the same to these supplements, but they are working for me and improvements are rapid. This along with Metagenics ADVA CLear is really helping my liver detox (along with an occasional Hulda Clalrk flush) and MANY< MANY, MANY prayers. Thanks to the Lord, found all the right docs and supplements and a detox program that works for me. If you are in the Southern California area, I can recommend the Center for Advanced Medicine in Encinitas, CA. They know what they are doing. www.camhealthtalk.com.Gabriella

NAC supplements can cause heart problems, heart enlargement to be exact. Body builders use it, it may explain why so many of them suddenly drop dead of heart failure.
be careful. I was taking it before I knew that and I was having very slight heart palpitations or something... anyway that stopped when i stopped using the NAC.
garlic is better anyway. Just don't eat it alone.

Thanks, I think I will be okay, Andy recommends it and it won't be long term use. I eat a ton of garlic. Its my favorite addition to all my meals :-) Except breakfast!

Well don't overdo it, and stop if your heart feels funny.
That's new research btw, has to do with so many body builders dying the past couple years. cutler's advice may be outdated on that one.

Whey protien and garlic, either or, or both I suppose depenmding on how you feel, do just as well a job to raise your glutathione levels.
use pure raw whey protein, not hydrolyzed. and organic garlic of course.

Hi Glancia, this is great news! If it's working, keep doing what you're doing. There are people who can react horribly to those supplements because of the way they mobilise mercury, but others respond really well and you're obviously one of them...
Obviously this doctor's regime is one that he finds works and I hope that this will be the way through for you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kewldance.gif" alt="" />

You know what is real good for joints and your skin that you can eat? You know when you bake a chicken, say in a dutch oven, and all that juice comes out of the chicken... and then you eat your dinner and put the chicken in the fridge, still in the little dutch oven (covered pyrex dish or whatever)... and then when it's cold you have a layer of fat on top and then below that you'll have a layer of gelatin stuff? Well that gelatin stuff is collagen, the same stuff they call collagen II in various different expensive supplements. It's real good for your skin, your joints etc. Scrape off the fat and it's great heated up on mashed potatoes too, chicken drippings, the good part.
Try not to use commercial grade chicken though, the best chicken you can get, usually only costs a couple bucks more anyway. You'll save at least that much in doctor bills downline.

SS, thanks for the advice. I have been doing much of what you suggest except the collagen thing. I have been taking Biosil (silica) for hair and nails.
I was on MSM from April to September and did great on that and glutithione shots, but I changed doctors so I had to stop and then ease back into it after they got my sulphur results which were extremely low as well as the molybdenum.
Anyway, I always felt better on these two things, I just wasn't sure how much I could take. It's funny some things like Selenium...forget it, mobilizes the mercury and I feel insane. MSM, glutithione, feel great. This just goes to show you how much each and every person needs a personalized plan. The only thing I know that you can apply to everyone is chelation of some sort and things like VIt C, the rest all depends on your system.
Anyway, I am very hopeful and am feeling better and do hope to report the improvement that my doctor says is coming in the next 60 days.
