Along with the mercury fillings that need to come out (I have only 2 left) I have a root canal tooth right in the very front that we had planned on taking out in March. At my last visit to the dentist I told him I wanted to move that up because I have been reading how bad they are and have been getting so many symptoms in my head and face.
He took an Xray of the tooth and noticed that the tooth next to it, my other top front tooth, was also dead. I had injured those two front teeth when I was about 15. When I was in my 20's or 30's I had a root canal done on the one. This has been in my mouth a long time. The dentist says both teeth have to come out and we decided on a permanent bridge which will cost over 6000 to have the extractions and the bridge. I was just wondering if others of you had head and facial symptoms from a root canal tooth. The xray showed a blackened area above and around the root which he says should be white. I am kind of scared to have that out and cleaned all out. He said it would take about two and a half hours. Not looking forward to that, but if it will help me to feel better, I will make it through the visit. I keep getting staph and strep infections in the sinuses and I am sure it is from these teeth. It is set up for Jan. 3.
