I just discovered the fish oil and the flax oil I have been taking daily is rancid. Both are kept in the fridge. The flax was pretty gourmet expensive stuff too.
Every now and then I muscle test my supplements to make sure all is well and these two came up weak. I also had a new bottle of flax which I tried, to which I tested fine. Umm?
I thought this rather strange, they tasted fine to me, so I asked the wife if she could taste anything wrong with either of them. As soon as she got near each bottle she could smell that they where rancid. No need to taste them then!
So now I find out my nose is not smelling stuff and my taste buds are buggered up too. Great!
I pretty sure this would not have been helping my quest to get better!!!
So, it is worth checking yours is not rancid either.

Were they in liquid form and stored in the refrigerator in the store? Were they recently produced? Many brands have the production date on them. Did you buy it in a vitamin store that is careful about keeping the refrigerated items at the proper temperature? I suggest avoiding the oil supplements in capsule form. Most are not refrigerated in the stores.

Yup, both liquid form in a bottle. The flax was stored in the fridge in the store and my home. The fish oil was a cheap fish oil off the shelf in a store.
