Hi everyone,I am a new member,
I have a problem.I am afraid of hospitals&drugs, mainly what's in the drugs and what effects the'll have on me,especially as I am so sensitive to everything, food&chemicals.(I am also detoxing metals at the moment.)
I usually steer clear of medical doctors and opt for alternatives. But I have a mole on my back and it has changed shape &doubled in size.I have been strongly advised to have it removed. He has scheduled appointment for 6 weeks time(public hospital)My problem is that last year I was all set and went in to have it removed but could not go ahead &suffered extreme anxiety.I went for another checkup 2day,same skin specialist said it def.has to come off.I am afraid of Local anaesthetic,& feel like I can't trust the Dr.to tell me of possible reactions. He says I'm being ridiculous.but my fear is huge &very real.He has given me a once off prescription for one dose of valium.which I have no intention of using.Does anyone have any suggestions,I think I should probably go ahead with procedure, but maybe find something else to calm me?valerian or something, just for that procedure..?
also have any of you had this procedure done?
Thanks for reading,
sunflower

I had a mole removed by a doctor once and I also have removed several myself by using an herbal paste that makes them fall off. Some people call it "C"-herb.

For anxiety, there are several herbs you can take to help. Here is a link that I hope will provide you with some good info:

Stress Pack

Nutri-Calm

The Captian

Thankyou,
Those stress herbs look great. If the appointment is 6weeks away how soon should I start to take them?
I have not decided yet if I want to go ahead. But those herbs will be useful to have anyway.

I have heard there is a man in Ireland, where I live, who removes moles & has even treated some people for skin cancer with a paste of various herbs. He has not trained as any kind of doctor or practitioner. He has cured some people of skin cancer/other skin problems using this paste. He uses a recipe that has been passed down through his family,he won't tell anyone what's in the paste. But he's not making money from this, it is donation based.
I know this is the kind of thing people are wary of and with very good reason. And I would definitely want to know what was going into my skin!
But I like the story & to hear news of people recovering their
health
especially when they had used that as a "last resort"
Thanks. This is a great website.I learn something everytime.

Hi Sunflower, I have read some stuff about mole removal with Apple Cider Vinegar. I have no experience with moles, but know ACV is amazing stuff. I cure my heartburn in 10 mins when I get heartburn with a small drink of the stuff.

I searched on curezone for 3 minutes and found these…..

http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=265886#i

http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=265651#i

This last post is a full story of someone removing a mole with ACV.

Sunflower, There is really nothing to it. I am also sensitive to all drugs, but this is just like a novacaine. I never even felt the needle go in. It was on a tender spot on my back too. You will be fine. Just tell yourself that as you go for your appointment. For anxiety I take Standard Process Min-Tran. It is a mineral tranquilizer. You can only get this from a health care provider. I go to a Natural doc. I must have 15 different Standard Process items I take. They are whole food supplements and they won't hurt you. Standard Process makes another product that I am told is stronger but I will have to find out the name for you on my next visit, which should be one day this week.

Hi Ann,
Thanks for advice,
you make it sound easy! As I'm learning the fear is usually the worst part.I know I will feel silly for making such a fuss.
do you know that expression:"mountain out of a molehill"!
Anyhow,I have not decided yet what to do,but 1st thing is my fillings on Friday then I can think about the mole .
Will keep you all posted.
Thanks that mineral tranquilliser sounds interesting.I also have natural doctor,I can ask.
Sometimes I write before I think!

First, I'd like to say I'm a tiny bit embarrassed about the dramatic title I put on this thread! "Doctor phobia!!!"

I have decided to go ahead & get the mole removed, appointment is tomorrow and I'm nervous about it.
Mostly because I'm scared of the local anasthetic as I mentioned before.Scared of having some unmanageable adverse reaction.I am very sensitive to fumes, perfumes etc at the moment.

Thanks for all the alternative suggestions that you have posted above...but even if I did remove the mole myself,
as long as my health is not great I will worry it is something that has been overlooked and
need to explore all other possible causes.
I have been told I need the mole off for years &it has since changed over the last few years ,doubled in size,changed colour,and has a raised bump in the middle;
it looks suspiscious & so
if I can manage to make it through the procedure,(I am planning to make it,) I would prefer to get it tested.
It is a personal challenge for me, and I feel I have to go through with it,as it's been a worry on my mind for years and
worry is an energy robber,a master criminal.

I am not taking the once off valium that was prescribed for me.

I am trying to keep myself relaxed with

magnesium ,
camomile tea,
natural progesterone cream,
and most importantly, remembering to breathe properly.
all of which I'm doing already.

I have also heard that melatonin is great to take when you are getting/have had local/general anasthetic.
A good food source of this is bananas.

I am also going to have a lymph drainage massage the next day.

I will keep you posted.

I have a friend who has a big mole. Really sticks out. Its on his tummy. He has a name for it for some strange reason. Its called his “chocolate” LOL

Good luck Sunflower. Well done for sorting it out. What is most important is to actually do something about it, so many do nothing, just waiting until it is a problem.

You seem to have prepared well, I’m sure all will be fine.

When going for dental work it is suggested not to take VIT C 24 hours prior to the anaesthetic, I don’t know, but I guess that applies to what you doing too?

All the best

Thanks Sunshine,
I appreciate that.Yes I remembered about the Vit C. I will take some of it after though.
Also been massaging the area with wheatgerm oil, rich in Vitamin E.
In a strange way, just like the fillings,I am looking forward to it.
Not the procedure but the afterwards when ,like you said,I have done something about it.So important.

I'm pleased you decided to do something about this.
A mole is like a weed; get rid of it when it is little and it isn't a problem; wait until it has grown really tough and big and you need a big spade to get rid of it!
If you had a broken leg, you know that you would have to go to the hospital and have it fixed. This is no different. It MUST be removed, otherwise it spreads its little "seeds" all round the body. So check out all your moles. Use natural remedies BEFORE changes start, then there is no risk.
MELANOMA IS A KILLER.
Sorry to be so blunt.
If you fear anaesthetics, find out if there is an accupuncturist who would work with a doctor. I know it still invilves needles, but these are very tiny and rarely hurt.
Accupuncture does work well for pain.
Good luck.

Hi
I got the mole off yesterday.
I prepared well &arrived early at appointment, feeling calm.
This is an unbelievable change since the previous appointment were I left the surgery and could not go through with it.
The difference in me is incredible.

It's been 2 months since I got the last fillings replaced &I'm feeling brighter in general, more balanced.

BEFORE:
The combination of camomile tea ,natural progesterone cream
massaged onto the neck,magnesium supplements,and I felt
beautifully relaxed.
I also took some rescue remedy under my tongue & dropped some onto the mole, before they called me in.

DOCTOR:
I think the doctor may have thought I took the valium after all!
I'll tell him what I did at the next check up.The nurses &doctors I met were really friendly &nice.
For the first time in my life (that I'm aware of) I actually enjoyed a visit to the hospital.I kept telling myself that just because I've never had a nice/positive experience in a hospital, does not mean it will be the same this time and it was not the same at all.
The doctor & nurses were really exceptional.

AFTER:
I prepared well for procedure but did not think ahead to the possibility of being sore after! And so had nothing ready for to help relieve pain if necessary! Doh.
So I took 2 paracetamol when the local anasthetic wore off,(I would never usually take any drugs) but I have not taken any since & don't feel any strong pain just a bit sensitive/tender in the site,I feel a little groggy today ,I feel a bit battered &bruised but a day or 2 taking it easy should help that.
I also gave the surrounding area a little massage with some arnica ointment.I also had a gentle lymph drainage massage &slept for half an hour after, would still be there but had to get up,get some things done.I feel pleasantly tired, like I could sleep for a day or 2,if left undisturbed!

MOLE:
The mole did have a melanoma attached,I asked to see it before I left.
The mole was a bit bigger than a flattened raisin, and the melanoma was about the size a 2 little peas, yellow coloured with the threads attached like a tiny octopus.
I am describing it like this as I'm not familiar with the medical words.

It will be analysed & I will know the results before christmas.
I'll keep you all posted.

Hi Carol NZ,
Yes ,you are right, it is better to do something about it.
Accupuncture has helped me for many things before,
it's powerful stuff, and I have never found the needle to hurt at all.Like homeoepathy it always makes my symptoms worse before they improve, but it has helped me every single time I 've tried it.
I did not think of this as an option before the appointment but it's something I would definitely consider if I needed again.

Melanoma, as far as I know can be malignant or non-malignant and so is not always a killer as you said in your post.
Please let me know if I am wrong about this.

Congratulations Sunflower!

Cool, calm and collected…are you training to be a Jedi knightess?

If that thing was attached to the end…..then you should be even more happy with yourself for taking action and making investigations now and not later.

Congrats!

Hi Sunflower
Yes you are correct. Melanomas can be benign; but would you really want to take the chance again?
Once you start seeing changes, the chances of malignancy increase.
If you have a lot of freckles or moles, have a dermatologist do a "Mole Map". This way changes can be plotted.
If you only have a few moles and freckles it is good to keep a record. If you can, take a photo. Also make a pattern of the size by putting some clear adhesive tape over the mole, and drawing round the shape with a fine pen. Then keep the tape in a safe place. If you feel the shape or size has changed, you can refer back to the tape. Also make a note of the height above skin level, if it is raised.
If you can't do it yourself ask someone you trust to do it for you.
It is one of the few malignancies which we can observe without medical help.
Don't let that opportunity pass you by.
You are in control with this one!
And I still prefer liquid nitrogen as a treatment if you get it early enough, because you are actually causing very localised frostbite. The body gets rid of the dead tissue on its own, and is completely sterile. NO needles needed. No drugs.
I'm proud of you doing so well, considering how you were feeling beforehand.
What's next? Skydiving? Bungee jumping?

I got great news today, the doctor rang and said that they got the whole thing out and it's not cancerous.
He called me himself so I would not be worried over christmas.
I am so impressed ,they were so nice to me.
I was not sure what the results would reveal.
I am on cloud nine today.
Thanks all of you for the kind messages. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hugme.gif" alt="" />

2 weeks on and I've taken off the tape from the wound,
it's looking beautiful.About 2 inches long &sealed up nicely.
Isn't the body amazing.I am in awe of the human body.

Does anyone have any tips/suggestions to help the skin along, such as creams ,oils, herbs, that are good to help heal scars OR
is it best to leave the body do it's own thing ?
Thanks

scars scars scars... Cocoa butter!! ... I have plenty of them from a rough and tumble fun filled childhood, have about 5 on my face, snow sport accidents, bike accidents, tree climbing... but you have to look real real hard to see them... a nice deep one from a sledding accident as a kid, right in the middle of my cheek even, almost lost an eye there... but still you have to look real hard to see it, a huge one on my shin, that one is a bit big too miss but it isn't discolored or anything, because... my mom taught me years and years ago to use cocoa butter on scars... it really does work. I guess with me in the house she really had to find a solution because her cute little girl was really taking a beating, it probably embarrassed her to go out with me back then otherwise... I actually got a spanking when i did that huge one on my shin they were so tired of taking me in for stitches.

You know the cocoa butter routine right? As raw as you can get, plain unadultered cocoa butter, melt it in a saucepan on low heat, add a tad of sesame oil (has vitamin E, also good for scars) to soften it, then pour that mixture into a little jar to set at room temperature.

I've tried using plain vitamin E and it'll make my wounds turn very bright red, I prefer cocoa butter with just a tad of natural vitamiin E, like you get in sesame oil.

It takes a couple months for a scar to really go away (it never REALLY goes away completely) but if you use it everyday, massage in gently, you are probably the only one who will know about it in a few months.

You can start using it asap, real good to keep the skin there soft and pliable, don't let the scar get hard or raised.
