Dear guys like some of you know, three months after becoming ill I was prescribed Larazipam for anxiety and Zopiclone for insommnia. Well initially I thought they were the answer to my prayers. 8 hours sleep and no anxiety and loads of energy. Well the evil truth is it wears off, Lorazipam is one of the evilest drugs about. I was given no information or warning and given them like smarties. They are so addictive you just end up taking more and more. They are harder to withdraw from than Heroin. The Zopiclone eventulally stops working too and the withdrawal from that is like nothing on Earth. So I am dealing with these things too at the moment. Not excusing myself but this is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I have minimal support from GP and have joined a drugs withdrawal forum. These chemicals can take years to leave your system apart form the other toxics we're dealing with. Try anything else, I know sometimes things get so bad you will try anything, but if I had been given the information at the time, no way would I have touched these drugs. I have been given 5 types of anti-depressants also, doctors will tell you some don't have withdrawal effects, don't believe it for one minute. All these tablets have the most bizarre effects on your body and brain. If you feel you need something, make sure your fully informed. Love Tracy xxxxx Withdrawal, vomiting, until you vomit blood. Incontinence, more insommnia, loss of appetite, addiction to alcohol, anger, more depression and anxiety, contractions in intestines, convulsions, the list is endless.

It's pretty well known people build tolerances to benzos. But as far as addiction, they are not addictive biologically like heroin, it is more a psychological dependence than addiction Quick fix but in a few months you will be at the same place, thats why they are better for panic attacks and not for daily use Bad luck tracy

This is probably someone who has used benzos with no obvious problems yet. But yes it's a fact that they are addictive, and can cause withdrawal problems. Yours, otherwise known as Ativan, is well known for it. I hear from pill-poppers all the time who tell me that I am scare-mongering. You and I and many others here know the truth though.

I have a question about a drug called cyclobenzprine...does anyone know if this one is addicting? My doc just prescribed this for Fibromyalgia...for sleep. I took it for about 3 weeks cause I was at my wits end and then I started having more stomach problems and had to quit taking it. anybody have any clues about this one?

Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride is a commonly prescribed centrally acting muscle relaxant, which is structurally similar to tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) and differs from amitriptyline by only one double bond.
In essence it is an antidepressant. The reaction you had would be a side effect of the medication. Also it's possible that you might be feeling some withdrawal effects. I would advise you to share here next time you have problems, e.g. with insomnia, and find out what natural remedies people recommend

It's really funny how most of these medications have the same side effects as the illness that they prescribed it for...hard to tell if it is the drug or the actual disease giving you problems!

skies, I know. It's really hard to comprehend sometimes. I noticed a television commercial that has been airing for quite some time for a drug called Humera, I think. One of the side effects they list on the commercial is Lymphoma. They readily admit it causes cancer, yet they're still telling the viewing audience to ask their doctor for it.
Really scary how much influence and control Big Pharma has.
