this is amazing, I was just going to go to sleep and I go into the bathroom to take out my lenses... I've worn glasses since about the age of 8 or so, got them in 3rd grade... but usually I wear contacts because less fuss and I am pretty active, eyeglasses get in the way... anyway I go into the bathroom to take out my lenses... and my lenses cases are both full already... I think what's going on here? I check double check triple check, yea those are my lenses, right color right case everythng.

My lenses weren't in my eyes, I took them out about 3 hours ago.

I have never experienced that in my life. I had to take a double take right there in the bathroom because everything looked so clear, not perfect but my lenses aren't quite right for my eyes if they're dirty, I thought they were dirty... NO! no lenses in!

I am not saying my eyesight is suddenly perfect, no far from it still because I had to just now use my eyeglasses to read the tiny type on the computer screen, but something is going on here. I have been chelating with the cilantro a lot the past couple weeks.

Hi sosick, this is very interesting to say the least. I had blurred vision in secondary school and it was after I had braces placed on my teeth. i was very toxic and it got to a point where I could hardly see what was quite close in front of me.

I did not want glasses and something im me knew it was related to being unwell, but at that stage I did not know what was causing it.

My eyesight improved later once the braces were gone and I was a little less toxic. But it can come and go.

It may well be that the toxicity you have could be responsible for you having to wear glasses in the first place. Hard to say exactly, but it seems it may at least be a contributing factor.

If some detox means that your vision impoves a little, that is extremely encouraging and pretty exciting. Sounds like the cilantro may have shifted some mercury or other metals out of those areas, or in the process of it at least. Keep doing what you're doing because it is obviously working!

I wish you could get the rest of the amalgams completely removed, but for now you seem to be doing a great job in keeping some symptoms at bay and keeping your body as healthy as it can be under the circumstances.

I'm going in 2 hrs to get that one tooth that has been keeping my glands swollen on the right side taken care of. Then I am schedulued in the fall for pretty much full amalgam removal... am feeling lots better so as long as I can stick near my desk a few hours a day and answer phones I can pay the bills and take care of the rest. really just got caught up the past few weeks.

there is a lot of 'glowing' material in that tooth that is making my glands swollen, aside from probably incompatible plastics. I was thinking, not sure if it's true but I think it could be... that the filling material that dentist used is loaded with that uranium glowing stuff so they can see it on x-ray, and just possibly it's causing a reaction with the amalgam fillings below it or causing a reaction on it's own with the plastics, all my teeth in that area have been bothering me a little bit and they never did before. I really can't even remember having had swollen glands or earaches prior to that being done.

I had a couple days of intense clarity (brain) when they were doing the EDTA and DMPS with me... I took some ALA that day btw, but anyway... my head did clear up quite a bit, it would be nice if this were the same type of premonition of what's to come.

You know what I worry about? Like a nuclear bomb drops, anywhere, not likely here, but NY, London, anywhere, and the economy gets so screwed up that no one has any money and I lose my eyeglasses. heh.

Hello SS:

Hope your eyes keep improving, but if they do, wearing your contacts or glasses will not give you 20/20 anymore. I would wonder what to do about that as it is pointless to get new contacts/glasses until the eyes stabilize. Which would be some months after chelation is finished? Maybe get a cheap pair of glasses to get by in the interim.

I believe the members of my family with silver fillings all wound up nearsighted. Also, I noticed floaters (still have them) years ago, and have read this is heavy metal related. And before I knew about mercury, I would notice my eyes would have large dialated pupils - not from drugs or drinking either. Later I read that is mercury too. Of course, this has changed due to aging as well, I think.

I am 13 monts post removal, and have been chelating for about 9 months with ALA/DMSA, and my eyes have been changing too. I hope the it means mercury is coming out.

How cool is that! It must be great not to wear glasses. I have read a bunch of times about how mercury affects eyesight. I know my eyes seem affected. Your family has silver fillings too? It seems funny in my family - those who had more fillings needed glasses young - those who did not "magically" had good eyesight. Hmmmm.

I hope you can get an answer on the rest of your symptoms.

Astigmatism is the result of the drops they put in your eyes when you were born

Perhaps some that are truly toxic and wear glasses are in actual fact compensating for the effects of mercury or at least "some" of the effects perhaps.

Many people in my family wear glasses and dont seem toxic, yet I have never worn them and been toxic most of my life....When the visual problems occured, it was at the sametime I got ill so I knew something was related to that, which is why I did not get glasses. Even an eye specialist did not tell me to get glasses, though I had blurred vision. He was quite bewildered and felt there was something else amiss, rather than "true faulty vision".

I'm sure most would have gotten me in glasses fast, but he did not. I remember my vision got so bad that I was unable to see street signs properly and often people's faces were slightly blurred. If I was looking down at something and then looked up, I could not re-focus properly again at any distant objects.

I don't have astigmatism either, just some nearsightedness. It is really good to hear about all of you actually experiencing that. Sounds so promising, I never expected it. I could feel quite a bit of mercury movement in my eye socket this afternoon, the cold icy drippy sensation, maybe time to get some more DMSA. Does anybody have a favorite brand on that? I would like to try a different one than the one I have been using.

I was thinking wearing my lenses is not helpful in that regard but I need to wear them, I will probably actually go to the eye doctor a little bit more, not less, if I notice changes to keep up with it. The contact lenses aren't expensive to keep changing prescriptions on every few months, and I like the eye doctor too, very affordable all around considering the potential outcome..

There are 4 kids in our family, all of our teeth filled pretty much the same at the same ages, between 8-14 or so. My sister, who is a year older and I, both got glasses at about the same time. My brother who is my older sister's twin and my younger sister both have a birth defect, adrenal problems, which requires them to take cortisone daily. the doctors would actually even insert slow dissolving tablets under the skin on theor backs to supplement the daily oral stuff throughout the year. Anyway, my older sister and I missed the birth defect but both wear glasses, the other two who take cortisone have great eyesight. Just something I thought I'd toss at ya because you guys discuss cortisone a lot for adrenal stuff.

Also, as a teenager my mother was always accusing me of taking drugs, she would say my eyes looked wierd, big pupils or whatever, but I never did drugs. Just have big blue eyes that are hard to miss seeing the black pupils on whereas the rest of my family have brown eyes.

Lots of floaters here too, for many years, never knew what it was. Wondered from time to time if I had parasites in my eyeballs or something. Apparently just mercury. I wore lenses back in the days when they used thimerisol in contact lense solution too. That's encouraging. I think I will mention it to the eye doctor and have her write me a prescription for a good deal less strength than her reading shows, and see what happens with that. I think I will go in next week as a matter of fact.

I have heard things become clearer and more colorful. I am looking forward to that. I have always had 20/20 vision or better. Everyone in my family wears glasses but me. Over the last year or two, I started developing "night blindness". It was during my last pregnancy. After the baby was born it got a little better, but still not back to normal. I always tell my husband now, that it looks so dark in our house. It is dark anyway, because our walls are kind of dark, but I just feel like I can't see,...there's never enough lights on. I was never like that before. No matter how many lights on, I still feel like there is a haze and I can't see well enough. If I look at things under a lamp, I can see the colors fine, details fine..but everything has a slight darkness to it. I feel like my peripheral vision has a darkness to it, and it doesn't look right. It bothers me a lot. I've also noticed I can't see as well. When I'm in a car, I play a little game with myself, to see how far away I can read signs. It used to be a long way. My husband couldn't believe I could read a sign that far away, because he couldn't. Now I can't. It's gotten worse. I do look at the colors in the country and imagine them being even more vibrant. Some of them seem awful bland.

My eyesight started to go bad about 12 years ago when I was 26. I needed glasses for reading and the computer. I was not good about wearing them, but I strained without them until about 5 years ago, when I improved my diet rather drastically - a lot of veggies and fruit (juicing). I found I no longer needed the glasses. But I did experience eye pain (severe dryness and light sensitivity) which went away after amalgam removal last summer. Now my eyes are only sore if I don't get enough sleep and even then not nearly as bad as they were before amalgam removal. I can now read for hours with no eye straining whatsoever.

My sight has improved too because for some reason when I had amalgams in my tear ducts didn't work very well. I had dry eyes all the time and had to squint to get my eyes wet so my vision would clear up. Now I can see long distance much better and my eyes are staying more moist. I think my vision will continue to get a little better. I am about 2 months post amalgam replacement.

My eyesight has improved this last 6 months and I can nearly read without my glasses if the print is not too small whereas before I needed them all the time. I put this down to better diet as my amalgams are still in.

Just to add my bit here about this. I have never had eyesight problems until I had braces on my teeth and that's when everything went haywire. Because of the extra burden of toxic metal and the galvanic responses to the amalgams present, my increase in metal toxicity must have sky rocketed and unfortunately launched me into chronic illness/toxicity, even though they were later removed.

At any rate, the mercury or it's effects (candida or both) had some very interesting and distressing effects on my eyes. Not only did I suffer with stinging and often blood shot eyes, but my vision played up. I had trouble focussing and my vision became blurry at school when trying to look from my work to the blackboard and even began to blur up when looking at road signs or just about anything. Got so bad, that sometimes the person in front of me would look quite blurry. It woudl worsen in more dimmer lighting and my night vision was near enough to being non existent.

Somehow I knew it was not my actual eyesight, but something else. I even got checked out and an eye doctor said there was something else going on. He felt my vision was ok. Weird, I don't know how he knew that. He gave me eye drops which helped a bit, but didn't cure the problem.

This was only one of many areas affected by the mercury and/or candida. Later, as my illness was not going and I was becoming suicidal with the symptoms, I finally went on a candida diet. This alone made a big different to my vision and part of that was excluding sugar and wheat/gluten. Just excluding them alone gave me my vision back, which was no doubt due to the release of the toxins it produced and some healing that must have taken place, even though I still had amalgams.

The tendency was always there and would return if I moved off my diet. Amalgam removal improved this further. Not sure whether it was mercury directly, or mercury indirectly that was causing the blurry vision, or because it allowed for pathogens to overgrow and overtake and interfere with normal functioning, or both. But certainly treating both these sources of toxicity was the remedy.
