sorry long story, will get the the mercury part toward the end.

The beginning:

i've been suffering from chronic constipation for the past 2 years and half almost. when the constipation started i had bouts of diarrhea every now and then as well, but now turned into just full blown constipation.
sometimes i can go but it's never feels complete. this all started after i got sick, week long diarrhea that persisted even though i must have used loads of Chinese anti diarrheals and Pepto Bismal that we had at home. eventually i went to the doctors to get antibiotics and the diarrhea stopped but i continued to have frequent bms for maybe a month or so before i started to get a little constipated and continuously more so after.

The eating disorder:

at the time my constipation started after my week long diarrhea i was eating a lot less than i was used to and not much fat(semi anorexia?). was still in middle school when this started and did not know much about nutrition nor did i care. usually had a bunch of vegetables and fruits and bad carbs. these eating habits stayed with me for a while and i cant say it has completely left me.
3-4 months after the anorexia, i became a compulsive binge eater. i obsessed with eating one particular thing until i finished the whole thing. for example if there was a large chocolate cake in front of me, sometimes i would ONLY eat the chocolate but ALL of it in one sitting like in a huge cake. or if you presented me with a huge plate of noodles i would eat the whole thing even if i was sickeningly full. no control. whenever i get anxious or depressed i have to eat carbs or else i'll lose control go into a complete frenzy/

prior to my week long diarrhea, which resulted in a 10 lbs weight loss, i've never shown any signs of anorexic tendencies even though i was a good 20 lbs overweight by my ethnic standard, which in turn led to a lot of teasing, bullying and what not. i was also hirsute and had lung problems and chronic cough a few years back (but less currently). even though that does not justify my eating disorder nor do i expect many here to understand the wrath of an eating disorder.

my parents are also a lot older than the other parents of my friends due to some other stuff. my dad forgets what you tell him a lot and likes to indulge in sweets and carbs, thus my house has a lot of junk and carbs that i binge on several times a week (and i mean a real binge) and often lose control with. doesn't stop my dad from constantly asking if i want the junk food either. he can't remember. i get upset and binge and other psychological disturbances. my eating disorder can be considered tamed, but not controlled. at least it's not what it was a while back where i would purposely gnaw at frozen buns in the freezer just to spit it out. shove, chew, spit. or swallow. no innuendos intended.

Other BM fun stuff:

ever since i got back from visiting a south eastern asian country 10 years ago, i've been prone to diarrhea, was 6. i'd be popping those anti diarrheal pills several times a week and about every year or every other year, i would get a pretty severe case that would last for a few days and sometimes a week, but then my BM always went back to normal except for that last time 2.5 years ago that left me in a wreck.

the metals, what you've all been waiting for:

i'm not sure how old i was, maybe around 8, but some dentist gave me composite fillings first and then i think i went to a new dentist a while later and i got amalgam fillings instead, but it may have been the same guy. 4 tiny amalgams and 2 medium ones. i was maybe 10 or 11 then and i thought they were butt ugly but i kind of expected them to turn to white and be like those other fillings. yeah, never happened. not long after, i got braces as well. health wasn't all that bad though, just rumbly stomach, fat, hairy, moody, depressed. figured the latter were the result of the former.

sorry, i have an illogical sense of story telling. fast forward a few years and i'm sick. and a bit more and i'm still sick.

was diagnosed with ibs, but i don't believe in that stuff. imo ibs is just a name incompetent doctors give to a bunch of similar symptoms that they can't grasp or find the cause of. laxatives don't quite work on me. i feel peristalsis, but it doesn't really move the contents down the colon. wiggles it a bit and gives me spasms and pain and then it comes out when it wants to so much later. i don't think i have an obstruction, but i'll never know until they agree to run a colonoscopy on me, which maybe be never or when i turn 18.

oh right back to metals, sorry, what an appetizing entry, no? so much crap talk. literally. i feel bad for those reading this, if any.

i had a hair mineral test done recently, showed my bismuth levels 3.5 higher than the reference range. bismuth is in a lot of stomach medication such as pepto and probably those chinese pills. i'm so paranoid of those things now. mercury was too high, deranged mineral transport. funny thing. my selenium was too high too, but not complaining? since it's supposed to help with the mercury.

i may as well have started with dear diary or something.

anyway i leave with a link to a page that says "antibiotics ignite mercury" i like daydreaming and theorizing why the heck i messed up even though i know i did a lot of stupid things in a series that probably led to this. what i came up with:

whatever parasites i caught out of the country that caused my diarrhea probably took in the mercury in their little bodies, as i've read they're prone to? then when the antibiotics killed the critters, they released the mercury in my poor unsuspecting body (well not really), and maybe the antibiotics "ignited" the mercury as well. and maybe some bismuth toxicity too from prolonged/excessive use of those darn anti diarrheals. my lack of food consumption may have slowed down my transit, which is understandable, which in turn accumulated the heavy metals in my system, making it harder and harder to empty myself. maybe i wish it were this simple. or is this difficult? i don't know.
hated diarrhea when i constantly had it now i think i almost want it because i have such a hard time going.

i should be a writer or something, actually i wanted to. i write so much, but oh so horrible at it. people say i might have ADD. i change the subject like mad. bye.

Hi, I can't tell exactly how old you are but if you were born in the past 30 years or so then its possible you got a large dose of mercury form your vaccinations. Young people getting, and staying, sick is often causes by this. I'm sure your filling didn't help either. It would be wise to try get rid of your mercury. Chelation and/or clay baths are good for that. The Andy Cutler protocol is good. I very strongly recommend a multi-glandular supplement containing adrenal, thyroid and pituitary gland material. Mercury does a serious number on the endocrine system and glandulars help repair the damage. Good luck with everything.

wow. this is bad. my memory is horrible.

actually the whole point of my story. which i intended to be short in the beginning, totally went array and lost its path. what i meant to ask was:
can mercury and other toxic metals accumulate in the digestive tract causing constipation? if so, how does that work? or is could it be inside my brain messing with some nerve up there making it hard for me to go?

on another note:
2 days after 3 tiny amalgam removals which was taken out without , i feel slightly more energized. i took activated charcoal before, rinsed with it after, rinsed again when i got home and took more activated charcoal and an epsom bath. then i took oxypowder the next day because i felt backed up. then today, i woke up feeling energized and a subtle feeling of well being? i don't know. just felt lighter. could be a placebo effect. but i stunk yesterday. i mpelled so toxic, but the smell left today.

and thank you collin for reading and responding. looking into a glandular supplement now

No Problem. You're wondering if mercury can cause constipation by accuumulating in the gut, well not exactly but it certainly can cause constipation.

Mercury has a very strongly negative effect on the endocrine system and the endocrine system controls everything in your body. Mercury has a high affinity for your endocrine glands because of their high concentration of halogens. Halogens are stronly electronegative atoms including Florine, Chlorine, Bromine and Iodine. Mercury has a strong positive charge on its atom (Hg 2+) and actively binds to halogens. The mercury that binds to your glands damages them and ultimately limits their production of their hormones. I think that mercury's most damaging effect is on the pituitary (the master gland which controls several others) .

Here is a basic mechanism of what happens: Mercury binds to the pituitary and lessens its ACTH and TSH production. The adrenals recieve less ACTH and produce less cortisol as a result. The thyroid recieves less TSH and produces less thyroid hormones as a result. Cortisol and thyroid hormones in general tell your body to use energy, and I stress that. The less of these hormones you have the less energy you use and the more sluggish your body and mind are. A sluggish body includes "strange heart beats", constipation, intolerance to exercise. A sluggish mind includes brain fog, poor memory, and negative emotions that include anxiety, negativity, etc.

Its great your looking into those glandulars. Make sure to get something with pituitary in it.

Colin, what do you mean make sure you get something with pituitary in it? Do you have an example? Is adrenal glandulars one? Thanks, Gabriella

Well, I can relate to so much of what you have stated here. Oh boy where do I start? I am hirsute also, I suffer from bouts of binging so bad that I have vomited. I am addicted to sugar and have to stay away from it. I have been both underweight and overweight in my life (teased for both and for being hairy).

Certainly you can be poisoned even in the Mother's womb from her amalgams, that is common, it even gets into the Mother's breast milk. So I believe my problems began from the word go (conception almost).

Mercury can cause total loss of appetite or bingeing. It can cause compulsive behaviours (ritualistic), hormonal imbalances etc. Anything at all just about, which makes it hard to diagnose because it can imitate anything and from there can allow your body to become suseptible to other illnesses/viruses/candida etc.

So it's an ongoing cycle. Like yourself my cravings would be so bad, I remember also eating frozen buns from the freezer (later vomiting). So this really rings bells with me.

Yes mercury from amalgams can indeed cause gut/bowel issues because it alters the bacteria. Every system in the body can be affected by mercury, so no symptom surprises me that a person gets.

I do not know if you have tried a candida diet, but I'd advise it at least at this point. No it isn't easy but it can contribute to mercury toxicity in big way. Making symptoms even worse, increasing the toxic load on the gut and liver etc. It isn't easy to do the diet, especially when you have family that loves junkfood (welcome to the club), but you have to look at this as a way of life, rather than just a "diet". It takes weeks to notice anything but it maybe well worth it. It also takes will power and the need to walk away when you are being tempted by sweets. And making sure you fill yourself up on the right foods so you are not so vulnerable.

But certainly if the underlying problem is mercury, which it sounds like it most likely is (with the bizzare symptoms), then you would obviously need to start looking at removal! But the diet is advisable to do regardless.

Gabriella, I mean when she buys a glandular supplement she should buy one with bovine adrenal material, bovine thyroid material and bovine pituitary material. Here's an example:

http://www.aviva.ca/shop/products.asp?itemid=1609&catid=195

Notice the ingredient list includes "1 Tablet Thyroid glandular (Thyroxine free) ... 100mg - Adrenal glandular ... 50mg - Pituitary glandular ... 15mg"

Mercury causes an overgrowth of candida, which can cause constipation or diahrea. I suggest that you start taking some antifungals, cut out sugar from you diet, and reduce the amount of carbohydrates you eat.My antifungal of choice is grapefruit seed extract. Start out slowly, perhaps 3 drops in 8 ounces of water 3 times a day, then gradually increase it to 6 drops in 8 ounces of water 8 to 12 times a day. Increasing your intake of vegetables and water may help quite a bit with constipation, as wil exercise. If you load up on fiber while you have plenty of candida though, you might get very gassy. A good low fat source of fiber that has plenty of protein, vitamins and minerals is edamame. Dry roasted edamame is a good snack. It is almost like eating nuts without the huge amount of fat.

thank you so much Bex. when i ate frozen buns a while back i was so scared. i was so out of control. i really thought i was going insane. i used to try to eat raw noodles too. thank god i lost the urges after a while.

another problem with 'the right foods' is that fiber bulks up and stays in my stomach making me very uncomfortable and i still cannot go. laxatives won't push it but makes it hard to breathe and i get pains. pretty annoying. very hard to function at school or even go to school. nausea too.

i only eat sugar when i binge, but the carbs is another big problem for me. dinner is rice every day. i try not to eat very much of it though. if vegetables don't cause me so much discomfort i'd go splurge on them, but they make me feel i'm about to die if i'm backed up which is just about every day now.

i can feel the urge to go. a gentle pushing in my abdomen, but its not strong enough to make me go. which drives me insane. it makes me so angry too. i hope i don't go over the edge soon.

you're right mercury sounds like it can imitate so many things. i just don't want to go all out trying to get mercury out only to realize it wasn't my main problem. but getting the mercury out could be a very important step as it weakens the immune system and other functions and keeps parasites and candida happy. so i can't lose there except in terms of money and time. but i guess it would be worth it if i can fix myself.

and nope my mom never had amalgams.

after i get the last of my amalgams out next week, hopefully my algin will be here by then. i guess i'll start by trying to get the metals out of my intestines and then start chelating either with DMSA or modifilan.

although my main worries right now are whether or not the regular dentist will do a good job and if i would get significantly sick the lack of rubber dam and other precautions. i live in a big city so finding biologic dentists aren't my problem (theres one 10 walking blocks from my house except i don't know the price and quality) , but there's no way i can afford $3000 on my teeth. ill just have to get it done by my regular dentist and go somewhere else for an x-ray to check it up since my amalgam removal is covered by my insurance. school starts in about a month though. =\

also, whats the minimum amount of the multi glandular i should take?

That is why I don't recommend taking psyllium. In addition to antifungals and a lower carb diet, you should also drink plenty of water and eat plenty of plain yogurt or take acidophilus supplements. Try to do plenty of walking. That might help.

Ih8u no problem. It's always a bit of a relief to know you're not alone and the odd symptoms you deal with that cause you to feel or think in certain ways are not "you". believe me! The bingeing is nothing to do with being weak willed either, this is very real because this stuff switches on the appetite centre of the brain at times and even if you are "full" you cannot stop the drive to eat.

Candida does that also, both contribute to toxicity and brain toxicity also which upsets these balances. I was able to control cravings once I reduced the candida with diet. It sounds like your digestion right now is a bit of a mess, which might mean you need to stay away from sugar, but also grains (which are hard to digest) and nuts and raw vegetables/fruit temporarily.

You can eat eggs, meat and cooked veges, plain yoghurt and things which should be "ok" on your digestion. You may also need to take things like vitamin C powder, magnesium etc which might loosen up the bowels. Epsom salts is a good way to get magnesium but tastes digusting. Magnesium citrate is probably the best form. Dont overdo the fibre becuase it's obvoiusly causing more problems than not. Rice may not be a wise move becuase it's a grain and your gut probably needs time to heal.

Eat plenty of fats, that is one thing people dont do and that can help heal a person. I mean butter, lard, olive oil, fish oil, flaxseed oil (which you can mix in yoghurt or cottage cheese) etc. This can also help you with constipation.

why do all these glandulars, etc etc if you may not need it.......??

have to find someone with an Oberon machine to test all your organs, nerves. brain - everything - then you will know EXACTLY the issue at hand

http://www.oberonservice.com/

Also recommend a Quantum Biofeedback and live blood microscopy - then you know everything !!

With the a multiglandular supplement a good idea is to stick close to the recommended dose on the bottle. Take less if you feel it would be a good idea.

I have ever heard of an oberon machine before so I can't say anything about it. My geuss is it works on the same premise as a vega tester. I have some experience with vega testers and find them to be fantastic diagnostic tools, as long as the person who tests you knows what they are doing. If you're not sure you want to take glandulars it would be a good idea to get your pituitary, adrenals, thyroid vega tested to see if they are weak. If they are then you need glandulars. Annonymous would have to fill you in on this oberon machine because its a new one to me.

I still recommend taking a multiglandular because mercury does disrupt the endocrine system. If you have mercury than you have some degree of endocrine disruption and this disruption can be corrected with glandulars. Additionally I'll recommend you get vega tested for your all of your glands (including hypothalamus, pituitary, pineal, adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid and reproductive as well as the different organs. Maybe look into this oberon machine too.

I don't know exactly what Quantum Biofeedback is but I've heard the name before and it sounds good. I've had live blood microscopy and wasn't impressed with the person doing the test, they said if I had a virus they would find it. I had Epstein-Barr Virus at the time and he didn't see it. Of course he didn't though because EBV likes to hang out in the Central Nervous System, not the blood. A live blood analysis would probably be a good idea all in all though.

Most practitioners of live blood microscopy only do 1000 resolution - you need to do the 9000.

www.pacificholistic.com

http://www.quantum-life.com/thelifesystemcomparison.htm - you dont need to do the balancing, just use it to tell you your problems/deficiencies at the very least. Psycological issues are best treated homeopathically. Quantum is similar to the Oberon machine - would do both if can afford it...... $125 or so. wouldnt have to do a vega test (muscle testing)

Mercury inhibits the enzymes that digest the proteins in gluten and dairy, and that builds up into a glue in the intestines that feeds candida. It is wise to avoid them like the plague as well as sugar and do the candida as Bex said, that will make a huge difference for you. And limiting your rice and other starches too will dramatically speed up the colon transit time too.

And lots of veggies and purifed water, that is absolulely crucial for good colon health.

best luck,
Sandi

im having something like the biofeedback machine done tomorrow. its called bodyscan. the doctor said the consultation and scan together would cost $100. i'll see how it goes tomorrow and report back. supposedly the machine would be able to find an underlying cause to my problems. i'm a skeptic but i'm open to trying all things and make sure i don't have another problem that would significantly hinder my chelation process.

Can I have 1.5 cups of 1% organic milk per day with my morning porridge? I cant have rice milk it has 27 carbs and 7 g sugar. Almond milk has a bunch of added minerals, and soy is not good it messes with your hormones. I wish I was a plant so could photosynthesize.......

Maybe I will put water in my gluten free porridge, that would be yummy. At least I found xylitol sweetner or my life would be very boring - I wish my mother never would have gave us any sweets when we were younger.......

any other suggestions

I wouldn't, I know it is hard, but most metal toxic people can't digest the proteins in dairy, they plug up the colon and heavy metals cannot be excreted. That is why most of us got sick in the first place....gluten, dairy and sugar. I just use extra water, boring but better than getting sicker. In my mind, nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.

i'm not sure about organic milk... but i think almond milk constipated me a bit more than usual. my mom used to give me porridge with some salt and it was pretty yummy. and some vegetables in there and mushroom. i'm not sure what you can and cannot eat, but if you want to stick with porridge maybe you should go into a chinese restaurant and take their menu for porridge so you would have an idea about what to include in there. NONE OF THE MSG OF COURSE. they OD the msg like mad.
