I need to have two teeth crowned but found out that I have mercury poison and had my amalgams removed. Can anyone tell me what material do they use or can I request to be used in my crowns since I'm mercury sensitive. Do porcelain crowns have any metal in them?

I had a root canal and a crown put on it. I had to pay for the all porcelain crown for my back, lower tooth because insurance would not put a non-metal one there. (it doesn't look metal, just the inside lining is metal) They claimed that porcelain was not strong enough for that particular tooth. Well, 2 years later the crown cracked and I had to shell out another $600 to put another crown put on. This time the dentist shaved down my poor sad root canaled tooth even more so that the porcelain could be made thicker and still fit in the spot. Next time this crown cracks I am getting it pulled.
