Hi I would like to get my mercury fillings removed asap. I researched and went to a guy i thought was a top biological dentist..i think he's the president of the IAOMT. His consultation fee is outrageous $650 but the price was worth it if he was top notch. I went to him..and he said that before he removes my mercury fillings i would have to take this homeopathic medicine for 3 weeks. When i looked at the ingredients of the medicine ..i noticed ALA. I thought that ALA cant be taken before the removal. Am i right? If so, i just shouldn't go to see this dentist. I took the medicine 3 times so far..and i have been in a brain coma all day. I've never felt so bad before. I can't even fathom taking another drop of this stuff. Am i right that i should reconsider using this dentist in connecticut? Has anyone gone to Al huggins center to do the removal? I just can't seem to find anyone in the ny,nj area. I'm nervous about having my symptoms get worse. Thanks for your help.

I think 3 weeks of ALA without DMSA to bind what it chelates would kill me.
You need DMSA with that far as i know. Of course a biologocal dentist (or any dentist for that matter) is not allowed to tell that because they don't have medical training. Why they are allowed to prescribe nutritional or herbal supplements without medical or nutrional training also seems to be in question.
Did he do blood work? silly question I know. .. what was I thinking?

me ubove, not logged in.
Eat a whole bunch of garlic on a hamburger, might make you feel better. use organic garlic. drink lots of water. Use fiber, the ALA alone might make you very constipated too.
g'night. good luck with that.

Well, if in doubt dont. Personally I think you are better off at this point supporting your body by diet (candida diet with plenty of proteins and healthy fats, excluding sugar, grains (especially gluten), fruit and milk) and taking supportive supplements, rather than getting into stuff to chelate. Yes, some people get away with it but I wouldn't do it.
The most I would take with amalgams still in would be a homeopathic detox kit that simply aids and encourages the organs to eliminate toxins and metals (like Heels homeopathic detox kit). I would do that, plus diet, plus supplements like vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A, B complex, magnesium/calcium, zinc, and a green food supplement like Nature's way Chlorophyll.
But aside from that? I would not be brave enough to muck around with much else. The supplements there by the way are recommended commonly for most people. Not only on candida forums, but also a biochemist (andy Cutler), and also another health professional.
Again if you do not react well to something, stop it. You will know what works for you. But with the diet? symptoms can get worse due to the body beginning to unload toxins and heal.
You may react well to sulfur foods/supplents like garlic, onions etc, but you may not. Sulfur can really stir up mercury and cause issues, so go easy on it if you try it. I'm no professional and can only pass on what I have read and tried for myself and what I have found is helpful rather than risky.
Everybody is different and even the best professional is not going to get it right in all cases. You are the best monitor of your own symptoms.

I have found since finding this forum that most of the poeple in this forum know alot more than the doctors and dentists out there ,and have come to trust there opinons ,if your dentist uses proper removal protocols you should use them for your removal ,and about suppliments that they advise you to take I would ask these forum members first ,unless your dentist has ever been mercury poisoned before I would rather take advise from forum members any day

My health journey took me to a doctor who used vitamin infusions. When I was feeling very sick, I went three times one week for Vit C and magnesium infusions. Unbeknown to me, he also instructed the nurse to include a WHOLE SACHET FULL of ALA. While I was having the infusion, I noticed that suddenly I couldn't focus on the magazine I was reading - my sight was blurred and leaping around. I developed a headache, and later on that evening the worst stomach cramps I have ever had in my life. I was up all night in agony. The next day I felt wrung out and exhausted.
When I next went back to him, and tell him to never EVER do that to me again, he looked up the potential side effects of ALA on his database, and they were all there. The doctors know the side effects, but they don't know that they are caused by mobilising mercury!!
I think I escaped relatively unscathed by this ALA infusion, but it could have been much, much worse. It severely shook my faith in this doctor, who claimed to know all about mercury toxicity, and I didn't go back for further treatments. I got the Cutler book and decided to go it alone. I wouldn't trust any doctors who claim to be knowledgeable about mercury.
Best Nicola
