Well I know of renowned dentists who hate amalgams and work hard to make sure its the safest procedure.

But I heard of a certain dentist in the uk who is meant to be the best but has had a few ppl who havnt recovered lately after seeing him..Im not sure if its due to not working to the certain standards as to what he says ...

This is my biggest fear and how can I get reassurance and know that he works to certain standards? etc

are you referring to dentists being lazy or saying one thing on their website and not providing it?

As in any other industry, there is no positive way to know what kind of work a professional will do, but you can get the best idea through reputation. Of course, there is very little accountability in many professions, especially dentistry, because no trained, objective party checks the work after it's done.

I have personal knowledge of dentists that were told to do certain types of work only and they went crazy on a kids mouth and capped every tooth. This most often happens on welfare kids because the dentists knows they will get paid by the government and the patient is too poor to sue.

Anyway, asking about particular dentists on this forum is allowed so feel free to ask away.
