Hi, I am new to this forum. I have read extensively the material here for many hours.
A few questions for you experts: 1) Can anyone recommend a dentist that you have had successful results from and that follows all the principles for mercury removal? I have been to IAOMT and I did find a dentist in Houston William P. Glaros, D.D.S. that I left a message for and Dr. Behm (thanks Russ). I am from Dallas but I am willing to go anywhere in the US to get this done right. I have read what can happen if I do not.
2) I would like to get my five crowns removed ASAP. I do not wish to exist like this one more hour. Is there any problem in going to a qualified dentist and just get them all removed? Do I need to prepare myself in any way before removal?
3) Should I start taking algin and vitamin C now? Anything else?
Did not want to bore anyone so I put my story last...
I was extremely athletic six months ago but I felt my body gradually getting debilitated over the last 12 months. Quick to anger, rapid hair loss, nervous, sleep problems, adrenaline, Then 6 months ago I had a sudden and severe shift in my health that seemed unexplainable. After 7 doctors MRIs and Xrays and many blood tests all they could really prove was chronic sinusitis, and a severe allergic reaction from "something" and a chronic upper respiratory infection. It has not left me all this time in fact it seems to permeate my entire body effecting so many systems and symptoms.
Tinitis, back pain, neck pain grinding, numbness pressure in face, muscle pain twitching, chest pressure and cardio irregularity, high adrenals, blurriness and so much more seem to come and go everyday. Anxiety, fear, mood swings, insomnia I feel that my body is constantly fighting something. Sometimes I am surprised that I am still alive. This is in stark contrast to how healthy I felt just a year ago. The last doctor I saw said that it seemed like I might have been poisoned! HA! I laughed at first (first time in six months). Then I went home and thought about it and looked throughout everything I was eating. I am generally very healthy about my diet. It is almost entirely raw and no caffeine, drugs, or alcohol or even salt. When I researched all the symptoms I came up with the possibility of too much mercury in a favorite food of mine - tuna. I immediately cut it out a few days ago to see. Then I came to this forum. First I started reading things that Russ and Bex wrote and so many others. My mouth dropped open as I felt that I was reading my own testimonial that everyone else seemed to experience. Then I looked in my mouth and I saw the five crowns with exposed metal under the white surface. In fact in the last year two of them had chipped significantly exposing more metal. I know these were done in the last ten years and I have always had a metallic taste in my mouth. When I touch my tongue to the oldest it gives we a feeling of touching a battery. I am sure that they are amalgams. Before that they were amalgam fillings.
THANK YOU FOR THIS SITE. IT HAS BEEN SO RELIEVING TO AT LEAST KNOW THAT THIS MAY BE THE CAUSE TO WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ME. Finally, a possible answer. When I saw my “old” dentist last I asked if I should replace the chipped crowns and he saw no need! I am actually glad because I am sure it would have been done incorrectly.
I can't believe that of all the dozen specialists that I saw and countless hours at doctors’ offices that not one even remotely suggested this possibility including my dentist!
Tex

Hi there Tex, Im glad you found this forum. Wow, it sounds like mercury to me. The odd thing about mercury seems that you can be poisoned a long time before you can suddenly buckle under the strain for some other reason and then you become symptomatic and wonder what's happened. Glad you stopped the tuna, wise move. Fish alone can cause mercury toxicity, though it can take time for that to happen. It's a bad one. I remember I ate a can of tuna and was bedridden. The body can usually handle a lot for quite sometime, but eventually it won't and sometimes it may take one extra straw to break the camel's back. I would not rid your diet of salt. Believe it or not, some people do think they are doing themselves the world of good by getting rid of fats, salt and going almost vegetarian. It is unfortunately not the best move if you are mercury toxic. You actually do need some salt, fats and proteins from eggs and meat, butter and other good fats with this toxicity. Be careful over "overcleansing". Great to eat healthy though and to avoid sugar, wheat/grains/gluten, milk, caffeine, fruits (initially), honey etc and eating plenty of good vegetables is great, raw/steamed, stir fried however. If you click on this link here - http://www.holisticdentalnetwork.com/directory_splash.phpYou can look up dentists hopefully in your area. The ones listed on these pages are biologic and hopefully some of the very best. You can also "ask the doctor" on there. If you look at the options up the top of the page, you can contact him, as he knows a lot about these things. There are other options on that site also, you check them out too if you find them helpful. You will also see where it has complimentry physicians on that page under where it lists dentists. The dentist that should answer your questions on the chipped crowns should be a biologic one, as I do not trust the opinion of a mainstream dentist because they are not looking out for health/biocompatibility. Problems can be metal in crowns acting with the amalgam and creating the galvanic activity too. It is wise to remove all metal from the mouth. So I hope you can find a reputable biologic dentist who will check out your mouth completely and find out what has to be done in order to allow your body to heal from this. Also, a good chelation regime to detox the mercury will be what you will be needing too. Taking general supportive supplements is great like vitamin C, Vitamin E, selenium, magnesium/calcium, B complex, milk thistle and algin now for sure. If you don't tolerate any of them, simply stop using it or try a lower dose. But do not take any vitamin C near the day of a dental appointment or it will reduce your ability to get numb from anaesthetic. You need to stop vitamin C about two days before your appointment. Then resume it of course straight after. Chelation is up to you, when you wish to start it and how you want to do it because there are so many out there. The one I see most people tolerating seems to be the Andy Cutler protocol. At any rate, Im sure you've probably read that on previous posts. Keep us in touch with what happens. and yeah don't have any fish You can however take fish oil capsules or fish oil that has been tested for mercury. This will be good for you too. Blue Ice is a good brand and cod liver oil is probably one of the best things to consume. Wow, nearly EXACTLY my symptoms. Numb face, tightness, tinnitus.
Also, doctors stumped, and also out of nowhere - I was running 3-4 miles a day 3x a week, lifting weights the other days, eating organic food and tons of fruits and vegetables.
1. See a biological dentist, period. Do not waste time with anyone else. 2. Get your amalgams out. Just do it. But do it right. 3. Read every single thing you can, and try to find the most rational system you can. Bex is a very good resource here for finding real info, not someone trying to sell you something. Go to the chelation groups on yahoo and read the threads. 4. You need to have some courage. It's scary to leave the world of doctors and go off on your own, but at some point you need to. This may not be mercury (as it might not be mercury in my case). But it may well be. NOTHING else explains my symptoms, and I've stumped neurologists, psychologists, primary care docs. I finally found a doc who believes in heavy metal poisoning (though he may be a bit of a huckster himself. But anyway...).
Good luck. This stuff is scary. But actually, if you do the amalgams right, find a supplement mix that works for you, and then consider chelating, it's actually not that bad. It's doable.

You guys are great your info is so timely and helpful. I just got off the phone with Russ's recommendation. Dr. ray Behm. First I will say he is so informative and respectful I was so grateful for all his time on a SATURDAY! He recommended Jeneric Pentron's Fibrekor as the replacement NOT Zirconium Crerec. I know this is contrary to what you Bex and Jason (search4 truth) discussed recently. I did not see anything on this site about Jeneric. Any ideas?
I did go to the web site. I checked it out and it boasts alot of great stuff but I wanted your opinion along with Russ (and anyone else). I found another doctor in Houston that does Cerec but Ray really seemed amazing and convincing.
By the way Bex your idea that the mercury under my crown is reacting with the crown metal is exactly what Ray said. Your very good.
Thank you and Blicero

Hi Tex. I also have very similar symptoms as you do, and I think what set me over the edge was also eating too much tuna. I had other things that led me along the way (an MMR shot when I graduated college and six amalgams as a child), but in a six month period of time, I ate A LOT of tuna which I think was the straw that broke the camels back. I had no idea about mercury in the tuna at the time and thought I was controlling my hypoglycemic symtptoms by eating it very frequently. Within that year , I developed all of the symptoms that you have and have had them since. In my case, my hair test, blood test, and urine test with a chelating agent all showed about 7 times the acceptable level of mercury for a woman of childbearing age. I have not removed my amalgams because of fear that I would get worse (some drs told me I'd get better, others said that I would get much worse), but I have tried everything and am not getting better over time - lately worse. I think you are on the right path, and I am convinced now that I will not get better until I get the amalgams out and find a way to chelate. I wish I found this forum back then - I'm we all have it now.
Good luck and keep us posted as to how you are doing.

Andrea,
Thank you very much. Yes I have gotten worse too. My tuna intake was at 2-3 lbs a week. Never gained weight but symptoms kept getting worse. 6 months ago I had many straws that broke the back of my system. I know this now. I also know that almost all of my social physical and business changes I made in the last 6 months were great and i felt good here and there. Even after much great news in my life I still feel a very dark cloud over everything and the symptoms are not better. I know I do not want to go further down this path. half the battle is fear and anxiety which this toxicity thrives on. For me if I had the right dentist today I would get everything redone now even if I have to mortgage my home and it takes until midnight. But I have to wait until at least Tuesday.
Bex and several others hit it when they mentioned that there is a point that stresses will accumulate and shift you into this. That was ok at the time but for me too much time has passed and I know this is not the path I choose to live in. I pray this change will help both you and me and I will let you all know exactly what I do.
Kindest regards Tex

Hi, you're very welcome, glad we were of some help Well it seems to me that you're onto a good dentist. I am not familiar with that product, but checked it out on the net and it seems very impressive. I kept seeing the words "highly biocompatible" or "completely biocompatible". It must be pretty good, if Ray is using it,
So you maybe onto a good one. I also looked on my serum test form, which tests dental materials to see which ones you are compatible with and I am HIGHLY sensitive and toxic and I just looked up the one you mentioned and it said it was suitable for me. Just as the cerec is. Your product I think is a mix of both ceramic and composite....?. I might be wrong. But it showed up under both headings of composites and porcelain/ceramic.
At any rate, it certainly sounds ok to me. But again, I don't know much more. I do believe you are onto a good dentist though, he seems VERY particular in what he uses and well aware of the respones to patients.
I'd say Cerec is also a very good bet, but this one sounds good too. I guess it now comes down to the dentist. I do not have Cerec, so I can't say "definitely get it", but stuff I read on it is very impressive also, plus two people on here got it and are no longer on this forum. Both of them are now working and getting well. So that's encouraging, particularly when one of them in particular was highly chemically sensitive, toxic and allergic to almost everything so she said. She got Cerec and it seemed fine with her. Again everybody is different, so that does not mean this will be the case for all.
I am sure the one Ray uses will be just as good, maybe better. He would do his research. He sounds like a good guy, I checked out his website and he helps his patients with their gums and gives information on how to help gum disease, fight it and all of it is with stuff you can get at your own chemist or supermarket. At no cost to them. Sounds like he genuinely cares!
I'm glad you got onto him and yeah he would have picked up on the metal and amalgam reaction immediately. I had it with braces, and if you think it's bad with amaglam alone, wait till you get another metal in there with it. Some people have had porcelain put in and thought the porcelain was to blame for their symptoms, when often they have had porcelain with a metal base (which is often covered so you cannot see it), and that metal can then react with the still remaining amalgam. So that can make people very very ill.
