This is a letter send to me from the Kitchen Doctor...very dear to my heart at the moment.... Quote: Dear Subscribers, Many years ago, one of my students was at a party where she met the CEO of a pharmaceutical company. She asked him what he would do if someone found an eight dollar cure for cancer. He responded, "Make sure it never gets to the market." Long after this incident was related to me, my student developed cancer. She was conflicted as to how to address her virulent condition and was describing some of the options she was considering. I reminded her of the flippant remark she had heard years early at the home of a celebrity. She was very quiet, introspective, and thanked me for my excellent memory, but these sorts of one-liners are not easily forgotten. Today, the situation facing us is dire. The FDA extended the comment period for the heinous new regulations being railroaded through, but the Senate was to vote today on further limitations. It is very easy to scare people into wanting more regulations but no matter what is wrong with our pet food or organic spinach, nothing has the side effects comparable to prescription medications. The following very long video is a must for all who care: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2502546838698762400&hl=enBest wishes, Ingrid Simply disgraceful, and abhorrent!!!! This is why we have to take responsibily for our own health. Sandi xoxo

For those of you who don't have the time to watch the video, here is a summary....
Quote: Prescription for Disaster is an in-depth investigation into the symbiotic relationships between the pharmaceutical industry, the FDA, ... all » lobbyists, lawmakers, medical schools, and researchers, and the impact this has on consumers and their health care. During this thorough investigation, we take a close look at patented drugs, why they are so readily prescribed by doctors, the role insurance companies and HMO's play in promoting compliance, and the problem of rising health care costs. We examine the marketing and public relations efforts on behalf of the pharmaceutical companies, including sales reps, medical journals and conferences. Further, we look at alternatives to traditional pharmacology and drug therapy, such as vitamins and nutritional supplements, and why they are often perceived as a competitive threat to the drug manufacturers. Alternative therapies also include diet, exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
Prescription for Disaster takes you on a journey through the tangled web of big business, the way disease is treated today, and the consequences we suffer as a society.

Excellent video. Thank you.
Very sad though.
an old friend told me many years ago, if you want to live a long and happy life, keep your car out of the garage and stay away from doctors. I have found it to be very good advice. I wish he had tossed 'and dentists' in there also because I would have listened.

Yes, the video is excellent. A few years ago someone told me "The system isn't made to make people well, it's made to keep people sick." He was right.

Bravo!! Good video. The FDA is not broken, it's corrupt! <img src="http://herballure.com/Images/Products/SweetRemedy,TheWorldReactsToAnAdulteratedFoodSupply/Capture,JamesTurner,Still,h140.jpg"> "One of the things that political scientists say quite frequently is: Very shortly after a regulatory agency is created, it gets captured by those it regulates. ...I think they're totally wrong.
