Well it has taken me 12 yrs to finally express how i really feel without the fear of being thrown into a dungeon and have the key tossed away. That being said, how many others have the same feeling, and actually not being able to fully relate with normal people, meaning waking up and feeling bright alert and ready to experience what the day has in store with open arms and not that of an impending doom. Post away,i will not judge :

Oh yes! how I long for the feelings of actually feeling like "me", instead of feeling like I'm on some drug. This is the nature of mercury, or in fact other toxins also on normal functioning.
I get 'moments" of clarity and thinking "wow is this how it feels? but they disappear fast. It is a relief in a way to hear it from others on here, because otherwise I'd feel far worse and more isolated. So yeah you're not alone.
The feelings of impending doom, loss of interest and motivation unfortunately tends to go with the territory.

I lived my whole life like that.
From my teen years, I always wondered why so many other people could be social, unfearful, happy, but I could not.
Until July of 2000, I didn't know the answers to that question. Now I do.
My amalgam removal was the turning point of my life. Nothing I have ever experienced has changed me physically and emotionally as that has.

Yes i felt like that for quite a few months which seemed like a lifetime. My doctor actually threatened to put me in hospital as i was totally insane and could not tolerate antidepressants and i was getting so skinny i was scarey looking, this was after my first visit to dentist for amalgam removal. since discovering Armour for thyroid i no longer deal with the impending doom i used to, life is alot better, although i have a lot of chelating to do, most of my symptoms were mental ones and although i get the odd moment of anxiety or depression it quicly goes away and am experiencing normal life most of the time. I still get times where im crying for nothing and go into supermarkets feeling like im not like the other people around me and i belong on planet freakout but the feelings disappear very quickly.

I feel exactly the same. I have had a couple of minutes in between where I have felt grounded, happy and aware, but this goes away and I just end up being reminded of how much I am actually missing out on life. Struggling with such an enclosed life means I also find it hard to sympathize with other peoples complaints. At least they feel they are on planet earth and not out in space........

Me too, I felt like this since I was a child, I only related to my dogs, my little furbabies. I felt so alone and alienated...I often thought I was crazy too. I lfelt like I was watching my life from outside my own self.
In my thirties I realized that diet played a huge part in my well being, sugar was my enemy...too bad I didn't know why then. Now 20 years later, the mercury has almost taken it's ultimate toll, I am fighting cancer cause it has devastated my immune system.
But doing the diet keeps my elimination good and helps not to methylate more mercury into my body...until I can get the cancer out of the way and start chelation again. Diet is so crucial to keep those feelings away, and going slow and easy with chelation is very important..I found that out the hard way.
The devil you know is so much easier to deal with than the devil you don't.
And nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.
Best love to all, Sandi xoxo

I often get this feeling, but never did before I got ill. Sometimes people can be talking to me and I know what they are saying but it kind of goes over my head and sometimes I find myself just staring at their lips and it all sounds so fast like chatter, chatter. Also when I go out into town or something sometimes everything is normal and other times it all seems a bit surreal if that makes any sense but I can even feel like that when Im at home in my own surroundings. Lets face it this illness in itself is a bit surreal and sometimes you cant believe it yourself. When I get these feelings I find it hard to concentrate and sometimes want to be on my own, afraid of how I'll appear to other people. Its almost like you know your not insane but at the same time dont feel normal like you imagine others do.

ps mornings are my worst time too I always wake up and for a second think everything is how it was, then I get that foreboding feeling and I get very edgy. I hate mornings. Its funny cos my mum has much the same symptoms and one of her sayings is we belong on another planet!

I've felt like this frequently during the past few months. I've read that this can also be caused by copper toxicity as well. Anyone know if copper toxicity and mercury toxicity go hand-in-hand?
