I have been doing heaps of research into this since my clinic visit. When I originally became ill, I actually thought I had all the symptoms of Menengitis, except the rash. I believe it was actually Epstein Barr virus. The virus can damage the brain barrier, brain, central nervous system, liver and spleen. I found out a year later that I had a very high reading of this illness at a private hospital. Apparently Epstein Barr can cause severe psychological disturbances, it can also manifest into Menengitis, and basically contiue to inflame areas of the brain. The annoying thing is if caught in time, a lumber puncture is required as it can survive in the spinal cord and a brain biopsy to find out exactly whats going on and if caught early enough, like Menengitis is treatable. I know from reading some posts some members were able to rid their selves of it, but it makes you wonder if its still lying dormant somewhere. I now know from the clinic that my virus has been active for two and a half years. Just hope they can help Thursday. My point is we're not talking about something the NHS ar'nt aware of here and must have some knowledge of the effects, like Menengitis, which we would be treated for. I have first hand knowledge of that as my sister has it and couldnt walk, speak and basically had to be taught all life skills again. She is now 40 years down the line left with some effects. Sorry to vent, but feel so damn angry. Tracy PS a doctor at the clininc said a friend of his conrtacted this virus and spent the rest of her life in a mental institution

Well at least now you know what you are up against Tracy, that is the first very important step...the devil you know is better than the devil you don't.
I will keep you in my prayers that you have a complete recovery...have faith..that is like a treat for the soul!!!
Best love, Sandi xoxoxo
