Can anyone provide me with any or provide a link to a UK seller, the same with Algin. I am desperate...ill even buy some from someone privately if anyone can help. My GP thinks its all in my mind and wont help me, referred me to a psychiatrist even though my thyroid tests show i cant convert to T3 and my adrenal function is non existent. I know its the mercury doing it so im going to have to do it alone. Thank you for reading.

Hi Stuart, I have a bottle of Algin in my fridge which has never been opened. It's about 3 months old. I bought it from Herb allure but my nutritionist told me not to take it as my thyroid was quite high. I am from the UK and could send it to you tomorrow if you like. You don't need to pay me, I would of thrown them away eventually and know they are going to a deserving home. Send me your address and I'll post them to you. Best wishes Lucy

My nutritionist told me that because it's a seaweed it contains alot of iodine which elevate the thyroid and as mine was slightly high she didn't want to risk it.

Just a note of clarification about Algin, as I see that someone may have been given some incorrect information... Algin is an extracted component of brown seaweed (kelp). It is the non-digestible fiber (or polysaccharide, in more technical terms) portion of kelp. Although kelp does contain high amounts of iodine, Algin is separated from kelp during the manufacturing process and does not contain the amount of iodine typically found in kelp products. However, it is possible that Algin may contain "trace" amounts of iodine. Then of course, many foods that we eat contain trace amounts (or more) of iodine. So, if a nutritionist is saying that a person shouldn't take Algin because of the high iodine content, this would not be correct. If I had an over-active thyroid but wanted to use Algin for mercury detoxification, I would start out with a small amount to see how my body responds. If I didn't experience any hyperthyroid-like symptoms, then I'd probably continue the Algin as long as it didn't bother me. There are other fiber supplements that might help in place of Algin, although I'm not sure they would work quite as well. You could try Slippery Elm or Psyllium Hulls. Hope this helps clarify things.

Thanks for clearing that up Laura. I found Algin to be very beneficial when I first had my amalgams removed and now nine months post removal I'm feeling so much better. It definately made my symptoms much more manageable.
