Hi, i had a funny turn this morning, i had been up for about an hour, hadnt eaten anything but took all my supplements and today i added VitB1 B3, that was the only thing i did different, then i started to feel prickly in my forehead and face, then it went all the way down to my legs, then i began to feel hot, i looked in the mirror and looked like a lobster, even my ears were bright red. My skin was really hot like a suntan, then i started to feel shivery and i have gone back to my normal colour, and feeling weak and nauseous. Would this be a mercury symptom? I have never had this before unless ive been in the sun too long. I dont know wether to go for blood tests at the hospital or not, or could it be that im taking all supplements at once, thanks, Dawn.

I think it's from taking supplements without eating. Please do not do that again

There is nothing to worry about here. It will be the Vitamin B3. How strong was it? I always begin to Flush for about 30 minutes if I take about 100mg of Vitamin B3. You can buy Niacin (B3) Flush Free but this is more expensive. Here is some more information about the niacin "flush" It's important to note that this niacin flush is not harmful or dangerous. Some people worry about it, but it is actually a sign of improved blood flow. When you get the niacin "flush", it's an indication that the niacin is causing small blood vessels in your body to be expanded in size. Many of your small blood vessels, called "capilaries" are so small that blood cells can only go through them in single file. Sometimes, in fact, that small capilary passageway is clogged and blood doesn't get through at all. While the large organs of the body all have blood supplied from large arteries, a great deal of your body, particularly the parts near the skin, get their ONLY supply of blood (therefore also of oxygen and nutrients) from these small capillaries. The niacin causes these small capilaries to expand - so they might be able to carry 2 or 3 blood cells at the same time. This is a tremendous increase in blood flow. You experience this as a "flushing" of the skin, simply because there is more blood close to the surface of the body. As the blood flows in these areas, the cells of the small capilaries will also be getting rid of their waste products, and often they produce 'histamine' as part of this process. That histamine is another natural substance produced by every cell in the body when a cell is under attack, or is eliminating toxins. Histamine causes an 'itchy' feeling.

Thanks once again, Cheers, Dawn. Your very welcome. I now take 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night as i do not flush on these amounts. Keep taking the B3 (and B6) vitamins as this is very important in the role of producing serotonin for the brain from your food, which is one of your feel good chemical for the brain.

Hi Dawn... Yep i had this! When i first started to supplement in advance of amalgam removal, i took all my vitamins at the same time so didnt know it was B3. I thought it was the high dose Vit C actually [this does cause me a little bit of heat / itchiness/ irritability]. But as i discovered, B3 alone brings on an intense heat and flushing of upper body within 20/30 mins of taking it. My arms were almost purple... lol It faded soon enough though.
Take care V
