Does anyone knwo the connection between mercury and parasites. I have heard some sources say that mercury kills off unwanted parasites but causes other (more severe symptoms) in the process and I have seen some sources who say that mercury can help some parasites to survive.
I have also heard the theory that some parasites can mutate to allow them to use the mercury for survival. Although I think that this is radical, There is still no consensus surrounding mercury's role in parasitic infestations.
Does anyone have any thoughts??

I think that mercury in general and also the low adrenal function that can accompany it makes your immune system weaker and thus you are more likely to pick up parasites than the average person. Just my thoughts...

There is a definite connection. Methyl mercury lodged within the body detroys alot of the nearby good bacteria-- permitting bad bacteria , viruses and parasites to flourish in those areas. Mercury actually acts as a 'safe haven" for parasite larvea that may not normally hatch .
The same is true with other industrial pollutants in our foods that create Benzene in our bodies--which encourage many types of parasites to live, grow full adult stage, and reproduce within the body. One example is Sheep Fluke or liver fluke worm. Normally this worm would be picked up by eating contaminated produce- but it would only grow to infant stage and be passed out of the bowels quickly.
With all the modern day solvents, toxins, chemicals in our factory manufactured foods, soft drinks, cleaning supplies, and pollution , we practically all have Benzene in our bodies to some extent.
We need to do parasite cleanses more than ever in this modern age--but ironically, in such a contaminated toxic era-- parasite cleanses are scoffed at by Organized medicine. Noone is getting parasite cleanses anymore like the rural folks did centuries ago with certain herbs, yet our current toxic conditions make it even more necessary for us to do so.
If you get a chance, please google Dr. Hulda Clark and her involvement with parasite research , Benzene and mercury. I'ts a very interesting read.

I definately think there is a link between parasites and mercury. I was diagnosed with mercury toxicity, 2 kinds of yeasts, and many parasites! Round worm, tape worm, toxoplasma, some kind of ameba. And I'm not even mentioning the "bad" bacteria that was found. The parasites and yeast soak up the mercury like a sponge. This helps us by getting rid of the mercury and helps the parasites by making them more resistant to being killed. I'm about to go to sleep tonight, but will try to find some of my links tomorow with some more information on this.
The whole thing is such a vicious cycle. It is hard to say which came first for me. I think as the mercury was building up in my body, I was distroying the health of my gut at the same time with antibiotics and a very high sugar diet. Once my gut was in such poor shape, the parasites had a perfect place to live. I think the parasites are gone now, but I can not get re-tested until May. A lot of the parasties are detected by having the antibodies for them in us. It takes time to get rid of the antibody after the parasite is killed. chigirl

Hey,
I see what you're getting at. I am using something for mercury (NCD zeolite) and I can report a marked reduction in my symptoms although I must say, I thought that I was free of parasites until I went on the zapper a week ago. I can't even begin to describe the difference.
So I began to postulate whther or not the mercury could have been keeping the parasites in check until I started it and once I had removed some, that had allowed them to flourish. So, if this is the case then I am going to cut back my dose so far and only ramp it up again once I have zapped myself some more. If not, then I will ramp up the dose now and zap myself anyway.

Hi Sage, can you enlighten me with the Parasites connection and the Zapper? Have the Parasites got anything to do with the root causes of Candida? What is this Zapper and what does it do?

The zapper is a machine that is supposed to target and kill systemic parasites. I have found it to be very effective in ridding myself of parasites.
We are disucssing the link between mercury and parasites, whether mercury inhibits their growth or supports it...

As for the candida. Parasites and candida compete with each other for survival but at the same time they both depress intestinal and systemic immunity. So they fight each other off but at the same time, they help each other to survive.
It would be a smart move to rid yourself of parasites before you attempt to destroy the candida.
What are your thoghts on mercury and parasites?

Zapper? Link It sure would be nice to "zap" my ameobas that I supposedly have.
One thing I read also about the "gut" immune system is that its integrity depends on the proper secretion of cortisol by the adrenals. If that doesnt work right (because of mercury or just plain AF), the balance of the guy gets thrown off an sIgA drops (secretory IGA - the substance that kills the bad bugs in the gut, but not the good one) and things like parasites and yeasts that would normally be killed set up shop.

Yeah, mercury does everything it can to mess you over. I guess the bottom line is that mercury has got to go first because of it's far reaching consequences on the immune system and all the other factors that have ben mentioned in this thread. Otherwise all other methods of removing pathogens and parasites would only bring temporary relief. And you can google Hulda Clark and zapper for some sites on it. You might also want to check out Ken Presner and his "Ultimate Zapper".

Heh, I looked at the info. How did you decide to start using this thing? Did your Dr. tell you about it, or you just got it and decided to give it a whirl? Does it make your heart skip or anything? How do you know its working?

My Naturopathic doctor advised it. And you know it is working because you can feel the effects afterwards. Although sometimes you have to take it slow because the die-off can really drain you if you have got a huge parasite infestation.

Hey, thanks. that looks like something worth trying. Although I am still looking into Dr. Hulda Clarks treatment protocol. ie. the black walnut hull, artemesia and cloves combo.

That artemesia combo looks like good stuff. But for my case, it contains too many different herbs as I am a very sensitive individual and I do best if I monitor herbs effects seperately.
But, good combo none-the-less.

HI - I'm just curious if anyone can recommend a really good parasite cleanse? I've read Dr. Clarks stuff and researched all the other cleanses - there are so many to choose from! I have Candida, many bad bacteria and have had Giardia and Pinworms in the past! So, I KNOW I got some critters in me that need to come out.... but where to start, what products? thanks - Also, how did you get tested for those to find out the individual ones?

Just wanted to add that I just read the links from Mr. tanner - any suggestion on which of all those is the best product? I've been on Nystatin 2-3 months for the Candida (along with Diet), but alwasy could use more... plus I'd like my husband to do this also, is it ok for him to do it without some other cleanse (he needs a cleanse!) or should I get both for him? Thanks - this question has been plaguing me for a while!!

Do you have any mercury fillings, if so get them out, do the candida diet and then see what you are left with...I bet most of the parasites and bacteria will be gone. Mercury makes pathogens resistant to antibiotics and causes candida and ruins digestion to make a great breeding ground for parasites ...add some dairy, gluten and sugar and they have a feast. Best luck and feel better soon, Sandi xoxo

I have a question if that is true than why does Renew have the cleanses in this order, first, advanced, parasite or candida or both and than metal? Should it not be metal first before candida or parasite than? Another question I have is maybe silly. I don't know if I have parasites maybe. But it may sound silly I am afraid to find out, they gross me out, I am sooooo afraid. Even if I had to cleanse them, I think if I saw them in the ..bathroom I would die. How do you deal with that?

It's a balancing act, but generally you won't have much luck trying to treat chronic parasite and yeast infections until the metals issue is resolved. Especially with candida, if you treat it first, you risk severe side effects as there is a sudden release of heavy metals into the yeast cell wall as the yeast dies.

and yet if you don't get the candida under control, your digestion will suffer and you cannot efficiently eliminate the metals....yeast harbours metals it is true and that is why you have to get rid of it slowly or suffer severe die off and herxheimer reactions.
