Mercury can show up in hair of those who are mercury toxic and it can also be absent. This can happen when the body holds onto mercury as with some people. The body holds the mercury in the organs and brain and does not release it easily into the blood stream. So someone may not have mercury circulating in their blood and showing up in hair and urine, but can still be poisoned from the mercury remaining in their brain and other organs.

so how come people with mental health issues do to "mercury" take antidepressants and feel better?

Because antidepressants work by altering some of the chemicals in the brain to try and offset some of the typical effects of depression. So there is a chance that if a person hits on the right antidepressant, they maybe able to offset 'some" of the problems mercury is causing, but it will not cure them of course.

Problem is, mercury also causes a person to react adversely very easily to things, so most do not tolerate many antidepressants, (if any at all).
